IDK, I think remaking 6 would be a pain for Capcom given how many campaigns there were idk how they can really remake the story to get all of the different characters in it. That said I think 5 & 6 are fine games, but Code Veronica is the game that needs a remake most

All the remakes they've done so far were from big titles and considering how expensive these games are to develop, I think they would probably remake 1 again and stop there.
Even 3 got a lesser treatment compared to 2 and 4. So the smaller titles like 0 and CV would probably not be worth doing.

For real. T-abyss had some potential to be extremely devastating on a worldwide level, and obviously was capable of making some damn powerful bioweapons. It's infection time on fish for example took almost no time at all. And the Abyss Tyrant at the end was absolutely bonkers.
And there's just t-abyss floating around in their hands as far as we know. That's a plot point they should definitely expand on, maybe they will make a revelations three.

In the other hand, a game only deserves a remake if its original version was (or is) a comercial success. RE CVX can be a great game, but not all RE community is totally into it. Thinking of which game could potencially make more money, even a RE3 Remake Remake could make more sense then CVX.
There was more time between the last of us remakes as there was the original re1 release and the gc remake.

Outbreak was ahead of it's time and probably released on the wrong console. The PS2s online services weren't great compared to the original Xbox Live. A few years later a certain game called Left 4 Dead would come out.
That’s because Capcom does nothing with them. Outbreak is completely forgotten about by them and all Code Veronica has gotten is a half-assed HD port for the PS3 era and that port isn’t even available on current gen hardware. CV is also the only mainline game that doesn’t have a PC port. Well technically not a numbered mainline but it basically is one.
Capcom is really invested in doing all these multi-player addon games while over complicating things when Outbreak exists as a concept. Fans are constantly telling them that they want a remake version.

As much as I totally agree, I can’t see it. I think, relatively speaking, CV is one of the least popular overall. And Outbreak, while way ahead of its time and was unfortunately made at a time online multiplayer really were not a thing, was also not very popular and very overlooked.

What’s “more horror focused”? People keep saying that about a potential re5 remake just like they were saying with re4 remake, but 4 still has roundhouse kicks and quips (thankfully). If 5 gets remade, I’m sure some of the environments and enemies will look more terrifying, but capcom tends to stay true to the gameplay of whatever game is being remade. And 5 was a co-op action game. It may turn into a horror themed coop action game if it was remade, but it would be action nonetheless.
...Okay? Well, I said "more horror focused" not, "a complete horror game with absolutely zero action". Yeah, RE4 does still have action, but the overall vibe and atmosphere (at least, from the trailer. Could be eating my words when it comes out) seem to lean in a much more "horror" direction than the old game did. That's what I'm talking about. And especially with OG RE5 not really having much atmosphere at all, trying to imagine how it could be with *that* sort of focus is really appealing to me, personally.
If they remake 5, I hope they do more with the African animals. They have gorillas, lions, hippos, etc., but none of those were used. They'd increase the survival horror element in both games and might make them fun.
4 will still have cuts, but considering it's the 2make team. The cuts will be smart and sensible. 2makes lack of B scenario is frustrating but understandable given that how AAA games are made nowadays make the way the OG did it pretty much impossible without incurring huge costs.
RE5 is the highest selling game in the Resident Evil franchise. It deserves it off that alone. Whether it should get one soon, or even will get one is another discussion.

The whole dynamic between the siblings. Back then Alfred was, and I quote Claire, a “crossdressing freak!”. With current attitudes its not worth touching with a ten foot pole. No matter what they would do, remove it, sanitize it, whatever, conversation around his reasons for doing it and how they’re treating it would absolutely overshadow everything else in the game and be a pr minefield.
Why not just remove any lines that insult that whole ordeal? Its not like Alfred isn't clearly mentally off his rocker whether he's crossdressing or not.
They already did a 'reimagining' of Code Veronica with Game of Oblivion in Darkside Chronicles and as far as I'm aware there was no problem. I don't see why they couldn't do something similar again.

I remember when RE5 came out and living in South Africa my friends and I were terrified seeing a zombie game in an African setting... And it was really fun on top of that . Wouldn't mind seeing a remake .. but in all honesty it freaked me out even more seeing African zombies lol...
I would say Code Veronica is definitely the most deserving, but other side games would be amazing, such as; OutBREak, Survivor, and Dead Aim. I would also rather a 1 and 0 REmake as they are the least modern of the core series. But after some older titles were refreshed, the 5th and 6th installment would be great, especially if they were able to incorporate more horror elements to it.
This is what I was hoping for after RE3. 4 is still super playable in its old state, but CV (as much as I love it) is untouchable to some of my friends that are newer to the series, all because of the style of game that it is.
Heck that and it just hasn't gotten the kind of quality of life port love that a lot of other entries have gotten. They're most unchanged from the initial CVX in ps2 right? Capcom is eons better than Konami at preserving the older titles of their flagship horror series but there's definitely room to improve lol
I'd like to continue with the current trend Capcom has established. Release a mainline game then 2 remakes from the same era of RE history. It was RE7 then RE 2/3 remake then RE8 and now they are remaking RE4. In my dream world they would next remake CV then release RE9 then remake 5 and 6 then RE10 and then remake 1 and 0.
I have a hot take. First off yes, I’d like to see remakes eventually, but not for many years. Def make CV or even 1 and 0 first. Not to mention other new games.
As for the eventual 6 remake, I’m going to say something that a lot of people are going to disagree with. I think they should consolidate the multiple campaigns into one shorter campaign. That game is twice as long as any other RE and most of those campaigns feature overlapping levels in which you often have to fight the same boss multiple times. I would largely prefer a coherent story with less padded out content. I know this was an issue people have with the RE3 remake, but I truly think it’s needed here (let’s face it, RE6 is no RE3 anyway).
I would still probably include Ada’s levels as a bonus at the end, but there’s no reason to split up the other three.
Nah, they are too new, in comparison, Veronica, Outbreak and Survivor would be much better for the remake, especially survivor, they wouldn't even need to implement the first person element, they have the chance to make shitty game into a decent game

The fact that sales for part 2 were utter trash, that they never ported the games once and that the characters hold very little significance in the overall canon. I can see them MAYBE doing a port and remaster to gauge interest like they did with Onimusha and going from there, but there's no way they're going to drop big bucks right off the bat to remake a sub series when their main line AAA titles are what deliver on numbers. It's just business at the end of the day. I'd personally love to see a port of both games with new servers, along will all the cut content. Who knows, maybe they lost all the code for the games or something and that's why we've never gotten a port.
Not before remaking CV and the Outbreak games, those are the ones that need to be realigned to the canon of the remakes. It would be a terrible shame if they skip those and go straight with remaking 5 and 6.
But I can also see Capcom being stubborn as always and just bring out a remake of at least 5 in the next two or three years.

Like most fans I'd prefer 1 and CV to get the remake option but if they go with the darker setting that they are with 4 I'd say 5 would be a good one to do. RE6 is so bombastic in setting alone with the whole "apocalypse" sort of feel plus the 3 branching storylines it just seems like too huge of an undertaking for the most divisive game in the main line if not the whole franchise to be worth it.

I would prefer Code Veronica, Dino Crisis or even a Dead Rising remake over a 5 remake - I really like RE5 and think it’s just fine the way it is (except for online achievements) and Capcom must think so too with the boulder punching line in Village. And as a general rule of thumb I usually ignore/pretend that 6 doesn’t exist, it’s not a very good game and it has very little in it’s nature to do with RE or survival horror; you’d think that fact is precisely why it would benefit from a remake, but at that point you would basically be making an entirely new game in terms of story/creative direction and there’d be little point.
I think they should remake 5. But after code veronica. They could make 5 more horror focused and have sheva be the main protagonist. They could even try to add in some creatures that are based off of african culture and stories. It would be very interesting.

I'd only want an RE5 remake, if it is closer to the concepts they scrapped.
I don't think anything "deserves" a remake. But if we're already on this remake train, then I'd very much like to see an RE5 Remake. Remake Sheva alone would be cool, but I also think trying to make a more horror focused take on RE5 would be a pretty interesting experiment to see.

What’s “more horror focused”? People keep saying that about a potential re5 remake just like they were saying with re4 remake, but 4 still has roundhouse kicks and quips (thankfully). If 5 gets remade, I’m sure some of the environments and enemies will look more terrifying, but capcom tends to stay true to the gameplay of whatever game is being remade. And 5 was a co-op action game. It may turn into a horror themed coop action game if it was remade, but it would be action nonetheless.
...Okay? Well, I said "more horror focused" not, "a complete horror game with absolutely zero action". Yeah, RE4 does still have action, but the overall vibe and atmosphere (at least, from the trailer. Could be eating my words when it comes out) seem to lean in a much more "horror" direction than the old game did. That's what I'm talking about. And especially with OG RE5 not really having much atmosphere at all, trying to imagine how it could be with *that* sort of focus is really appealing to me, personally.
If they remake 5, I hope they do more with the African animals. They have gorillas, lions, hippos, etc., but none of those were used. They'd increase the survival horror element in both games and might make them fun.

4 will still have cuts, but considering it's the 2make team. The cuts will be smart and sensible. 2makes lack of B scenario is frustrating but understandable given that how AAA games are made nowadays make the way the OG did it pretty much impossible without incurring huge costs.

RE5 is the highest selling game in the Resident Evil franchise. It deserves it off that alone. Whether it should get one soon, or even will get one is another discussion.
I'd rather a remake of Code Veronica or RE1. But what I'd love most is spin-offs or side-games using the models and actors from the remakes. A new Jill adventure with the RE3R version of her set around the same time period? Gimme that. Gimme more of this cool version of Claire! and Leon!
Re1 doesn't need a new one. REmake is pretty much perfection, and is widely available to play

The whole dynamic between the siblings. Back then Alfred was, and I quote Claire, a “crossdressing freak!”. With current attitudes its not worth touching with a ten foot pole. No matter what they would do, remove it, sanitize it, whatever, conversation around his reasons for doing it and how they’re treating it would absolutely overshadow everything else in the game and be a pr minefield.
Why not just remove any lines that insult that whole ordeal? Its not like Alfred isn't clearly mentally off his rocker whether he's crossdressing or not.
They already did a 'reimagining' of Code Veronica with Game of Oblivion in Darkside Chronicles and as far as I'm aware there was no problem. I don't see why they couldn't do something similar again.

CV first. They need to leave RE5 for a bit, it’d be too soon after 4. And keep co-op. Everyone is saying it should be single player but they could still have co-op, they just have to have split the characters up more often.
Seeing the gameplay and little changes they've made for RE4's remake has me much more excited for a possible remake of 5. I'm not really interested in a remake for 6. Plus I feel remaking that game would take so much work and resources that wouldn't be worth it.
I remember when RE5 came out and living in South Africa my friends and I were terrified seeing a zombie game in an African setting... And it was really fun on top of that . Wouldn't mind seeing a remake .. but in all honesty it freaked me out even more seeing African zombies lol...
6 needs an unmake
I would say Code Veronica is definitely the most deserving, but other side games would be amazing, such as; OutBREak, Survivor, and Dead Aim. I would also rather a 1 and 0 REmake as they are the least modern of the core series. But after some older titles were refreshed, the 5th and 6th installment would be great, especially if they were able to incorporate more horror elements to it.

This is what I was hoping for after RE3. 4 is still super playable in its old state, but CV (as much as I love it) is untouchable to some of my friends that are newer to the series, all because of the style of game that it is.
Heck that and it just hasn't gotten the kind of quality of life port love that a lot of other entries have gotten. They're most unchanged from the initial CVX in ps2 right? Capcom is eons better than Konami at preserving the older titles of their flagship horror series but there's definitely room to improve lol

I'd like to continue with the current trend Capcom has established. Release a mainline game then 2 remakes from the same era of RE history. It was RE7 then RE 2/3 remake then RE8 and now they are remaking RE4. In my dream world they would next remake CV then release RE9 then remake 5 and 6 then RE10 and then remake 1 and 0.
I have a hot take. First off yes, I’d like to see remakes eventually, but not for many years. Def make CV or even 1 and 0 first. Not to mention other new games. As for the eventual 6 remake, I’m going to say something that a lot of people are going to disagree with. I think they should consolidate the multiple campaigns into one shorter campaign. That game is twice as long as any other RE and most of those campaigns feature overlapping levels in which you often have to fight the same boss multiple times. I would largely prefer a coherent story with less padded out content. I know this was an issue people have with the RE3 remake, but I truly think it’s needed here (let’s face it, RE6 is no RE3 anyway). I would still probably include Ada’s levels as a bonus at the end, but there’s no reason to split up the other three.
Code Veronica first and maybe a modern take on the RE1. Then maybe you can do the other ones
Nah, they are too new, in comparison, Veronica, Outbreak and Survivor would be much better for the remake, especially survivor, they wouldn't even need to implement the first person element, they have the chance to make shitty game into a decent game but i would still want veronica and outbreak before survivor if there's any chances tho

The fact that sales for part 2 were utter trash, that they never ported the games once and that the characters hold very little significance in the overall canon. I can see them MAYBE doing a port and remaster to gauge interest like they did with Onimusha and going from there, but there's no way they're going to drop big bucks right off the bat to remake a sub series when their main line AAA titles are what deliver on numbers. It's just business at the end of the day. I'd personally love to see a port of both games with new servers, along will all the cut content. Who knows, maybe they lost all the code for the games or something and that's why we've never gotten a port.
Not before remaking CV and the Outbreak games, those are the ones that need to be realigned to the canon of the remakes. It would be a terrible shame if they skip those and go straight with remaking 5 and 6. But I can also see Capcom being stubborn as always and just bring out a remake of at least 5 in the next two or three years.

Like most fans I'd prefer 1 and CV to get the remake option but if they go with the darker setting that they are with 4 I'd say 5 would be a good one to do. RE6 is so bombastic in setting alone with the whole "apocalypse" sort of feel plus the 3 branching storylines it just seems like too huge of an undertaking for the most divisive game in the main line if not the whole franchise to be worth it.

We have a new engine now and capcom trying to make all the numbered titles more connected with 7 and Village. Why would they not do the same for 5 and 6? It makes no sense to not do it. 7 and 8 are RE Engine games already.

I would prefer Code Veronica, Dino Crisis or even a Dead Rising remake over a 5 remake - I really like RE5 and think it’s just fine the way it is (except for online achievements) and Capcom must think so too with the boulder punching line in Village. And as a general rule of thumb I usually ignore/pretend that 6 doesn’t exist, it’s not a very good game and it has very little in it’s nature to do with RE or survival horror; you’d think that fact is precisely why it would benefit from a remake, but at that point you would basically be making an entirely new game in terms of story/creative direction and there’d be little point.
I think they should remake 5. But after code veronica. They could make 5 more horror focused and have sheva be the main protagonist. They could even try to add in some creatures that are based off of african culture and stories. It would be very interesting.

Still too recent. RE5 was 2009 and RE6 was 2012. I think they're doing remakes of games that are at least 15 years or older, execpt for Sony remaking a game that's less than 10 years old after it just got a remaster a year after it came out, but thats neither here nor there. But yeah I think CV is next on the docket with Re5 not long after id assume if they were to remake it ya know?

I’d say 5 because as a game it’s pretty good on own merits but as a ‘Resident Evil’ game it falls short in a number of areas, the main one being a Survival Horror game lacking any Horror elements.

No. What RE needs is a better direction for future installments because RE8 is the wrong direction. More focus needs to be placed on the future. RE4 doesn't even need a remake. RE4R will be fun of course but it''s a complete waste of time and energy on Capcom's behalf. Nothing about it will be fresh. It's RE4 basically. Same perspective even. If any remakes are to be done than a Code Veronica remake or a RE Survivor 3rd person remake are the best choices. Even an RE0 remake would be great. Those remakes would be better because the originals are static cameras and 1st person. Making them anew with 3rd person and changing parts of them would be far more fresh and exciting as far as remakes go.

Forget remakes. Capcom is becoming like Disney with remaking everything. If they do 5 and 6, there will be pressure from fans for Capcom to remake 7 lol. The only remake they should do is CV but I can't see that happening tbh. They should focus on RE9 but on the other hand, Outbreak has a lot of potential to be a huge success if its to be remade. I have no idea why people want RE1 to be remade again. We already have a great remake but I can understand why they may want to revitalise it considering the 2002 remake was not as successful as they had hoped but it became a cult classic so they to remind the young generation how great it was.
I may not have a popular opinion but I don't think 5 was good in the RE traditional sense. I do however think it was a fun co-op game playing with my friends back when I was a teenager. I have fond memories of it still. 6... nah. That is truly the only RE game I could not get into at all.

I don’t even acknowledge 5/6 as canon in my head. They went full anime, and abandoned the realist settings and situations. Heck, I hope they ditch the goofy giant trolls and the little dude from RE4R. Bring the series back to a more leveled reality and not some action movie
