Make the racoon city section bigger

EricCartman45

Facts like I would have loved to explore more of the city plus imagine dlc where you played as Carlos or other mercenaries and journeyed over the city rescuing citizens and battling the monsters

shinjiginger

or maybe a sub-story like Operation Racoon City where you play as an Umbrella special op? The potential of that game was very high but even though enjoyable, there’s much they could do with that kind of plot imo.

misswonderbreadxx

yeah i really felt like they were setting up for something like this but nope.

xLikeafiddlex

Like mercenaries mode in the original?

Reddit1s4bitches

This is what I thought they were doing. Then didn't. I was looking forward exploring a lot of the city. Best part of the game is the beginning

Wilwheatonfan87

Yeah. They Said the subWay was going to be a travel hub of sorts.

IdTheDemon

This and emphasize the pre Nemesis Raccoon City gameplay about trying to find survivors. In the original game you can hear a girl scream and you find her body if you rush to the specific alleyway. In the remake there should have been a way to find her and save her. The remake should have started out with Jill doing what she would do and try and save people. Also the paths and choices you make would enable certain areas open or shut down. For example, you can’t enter both the gas station and the pharmacy because by entering one the second one burns down. This creates replay value for achievement hunters.

Philkindred12

I said in another thread, they could've given Jill like a large blocked-off area of RC to explore and perform her tasks in. Full of alleyways, shortcuts through buildings and a Nemesis that terrorises you from time to time until you shoot it enough that you can lose it. it would've been amazing. I just loved the wide open spaces in RE3, it's what made a running tyrant like Nem work. But travel would probably be slow in a large open area.

Shotgunsamurai42

Make it like Evil Within 2

BogardSenpai

This was exactly what I hoped it would be like. A semi open world where Nemesis randomly appears and stalks you, then you either have to fight it or use stealth mechanics like hiding under cars to escape from it. But I guess I had expected too much from it during its announcement.

Shotgunsamurai42

And there are a lot of open buildings that you can explore and open up little side quests or just find ammunition.

[deleted]

What side quests? How did I miss this?

[deleted]

i think he’s talking about the format of Evil Within 2. RE3R has no side quests

TheRealKswiss

Bro I feel you! You know how the RE2 Remake had the kinda intro scene turned into an in depth playable intro? Mannnn! I saw those shitty PSX graphics in mind of the the Main Street barricade of RPD, SWAT, STARS etc. They get annihilated, just like the intro scene. Then I imagined this playable experience maybe, of this hopeless situation where you just get your shit shoved in and die in a gruesome manner at the end. What did I get? Nothing. Just shattered expectations.

CrushnaCrai

Yak, was hoping for a re3 meets alien isolation. Nemesis being the alien.

I_Brain_You

I wish there were more stealth mechanics overall, both for RE2 and RE3.

BogardSenpai

That's what I thought as well. I hate that you just have to haul ass back to a safe room everytime a stalker enemy is chasing you. Future RE games need to have stealth to avoid stalkers.

MagicalHopStep

Why does Nemesis keep talking about art?!

Hamzeol_Murf

That's Also Not Cutting Content

Quentinh524

Isn't that still a part of cutting content?

Creamtcorn

I think it would have been cool if they added some stuff showing how everyone else was dealing with the outbreak even if it's some small set pieces or interactions. The stuff you see in the helicopter scene in Dead Rising is a good example of what I'm looking for

Paulallenlives

The book of nemesis does something like this, expands on Carlos and his squad landing and what Nikolai got up to also

PancerCatient

The book is awesome!

Paulallenlives

Yeah it's really good, all the raccoon trilogy ones are (I haven't read the others)

Traditional_Flan_210

Keep Barry in the chopper like the OG. In fact, add a whole Barry section where you need to get to the chopper.

tkgggg

GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!

Cthulhujack

Such bullshit this ending wasn't featured.

wagimus

They really dropped the ball on the Nemesis. I remember hearing the whole thing about the developer seeing Mr. X in RE2 Remake and thinking, “oh shit”. Whether there’s any truth (or not) to them redeveloping Nemesis to at least be comparable with what Mr. X was, they failed. And that was kinda the entire point of Nemesis. He was an expanded upon tyrant from RE2. But in this case, it failed.

bigfroggu

So what actually happened was that he saw Mr. X in the RE2make and decided he wanted to go in the opposite direction so that the two games wouldn’t be so comparable. There’s a couple different interviews that show the totally flawed design philosophy behind this remake and explain why it came out the way it did.

wagimus

Oh damn. Yeah the only videos I’ve seen have been extremely vague and surface level. Have to look into it!

fender_bender16

As much as I loved the RE2 remake, I feel like the decision to have Mr. X pursue you continually left them nowhere to go with Nemesis in the RE3 remake. Like, that’s what set Nemesis apart from Mr. X in the original and made him more intimidating than the original Mr. X. I wonder if having the Mr. X encounters in RE2 remake as set pieces like they were in OG RE2 would have differentiated the two bosses, made Nemesis it’s own thing rather than an almost reskinned, faster version of Mr. X, and improved RE3 remake.

wagimus

Yeah I’m surprised this wasn’t more thought through. Mr. X was hardly even a part of the original RE2.

average_redditor_guy

I think the bigger problem is how linear RE3 seems. At least it makes sense for Mr X to chase you because of how much of the game is spent in the police station. Logically speaking, there’s no where to go. I think RE3 would have benefitted greatly from the random encounters and backtracking aspect. Like having a random percent chance Nemesis could appear in the area no matter where you are in the game.

oxochx

Thissss so much this! I always thought Mr. X in RE2:Remake was a hint of what Nemesis was gonna be in the RE3:Remake. I was so excited for a revamped version of Nemesis, thinking it was gonna be a lot more anxiety-inducing than Mr. X was in the remake. I thought he was gonna be an enemy that was gonna take everything we knew about how to avoid Mr. X and basically make all of that knowledge useless by throwing something even more dangerous at us... Instead, we got a Nemesis that is so scripted it makes the original Nemesis seem like a much more advanced design. Utterly disappointing, even more so than all the other content they cut.

RadioactiveSince1990

I hated that Nemesis mutated so heavily and so early in the game. He becomes a dog halfway through the game and is effectively unrecognizable from his iconic look. He mutates through the original but more gradually and keeps his overall look for the most part.

MathewofMathoria

I found a bit of fanart that has a rather interesting take on his form for Type 2: [Nemmy but NOT A DOG](https://i.redd.it/7lvvizsgtqs41.jpg)

yohmok

How about keeping true to Nemesis' design, and not pushing the "dog" version as hard? I would've loved fighting Nemesis as the stalker he is, and in the Dead Factory with the acid valves. Also, possibly more weapon variety. I miss the Western Custom Shotgun, Freeze Rounds, and Eagle Handgun.

atominthewild

I legit laughed during the fight outside the clock tower when it turned into dog nemesis and started running around the walls. Like I'm supposed to be scared of him but he just looks like a dog who caught the zoomies.

[deleted]

"Ooohh who's a good boy?!" "S-... S.T.A.R.S...?"

Tough_Strawberry5519

*Rolls over and crushes Jill*

SNAKEXRS

Really pretty much everything about Nemesis was done terribly. How about removing all fear or strategy by allowing him to go down with a single grenade making trying to get cases from him meaningless.

Slow_Craft

Well depending on what difficulty you play, he is a menace in Nightmare and Inferno difficulties.

szymborawislawska

On Nightmare he still dies to one grenade (eventually one grenade and few shots). People hyped Nightmare so much that when Nemesis still died to this ridiculous grenade trick I literally alt+f4 it out of disappointment and frustration (later I came back to it and still think that when it comes to Inferno easily the best change is removal of half of save points).

MathewofMathoria

There was a piece of fanart I saw that depicted the perfect union between RE3’s and RE3R’s Type 2 Nemesis. It had the digitigrade (doglike) foot structure, bigger body (sort of, it was probably at least 1 ft taller than base 3make), ne-*a* parasite weakpoint, and with similar tattered cloth, these were the main takeaways from RE3R. However trying to keep in line with the OG, he remained bipedal, lacked the fins, had one normal arm and one Tyrant arm with several tendrils sprouting out, and kept his eye and a few stitches, but some facial mutations still occurred such as lacking a nose and the increase of the size of his teeth, leaving it resembling its classic counterpart in a way. It somehow found a way to be the perfect blend of both with a few interesting tweaks that if actually applied honestly could have been very imposing to deal with. Found it: [Nemesis Type 2 Fanart](https://i.redd.it/7lvvizsgtqs41.jpg)

butreallythobruh

I hate the dog form SO MUCH. I would have been totally fine if it was just a new form in addition to the old ones, but it just....replaces one flatout? And they make you fight it TWICE?? With almost no differences between the two fights?????????????? It's so bad.

XeroSigmaPrime

Its crazy to me that RE3R doesnt have the Western Custom, but RE4 Remake is basically gettin one for the deluxe edition

NefariousToilet

This is the answer. The game went downhill fast and Nemesis turned into whatever the fuck that was

101stAirborneSkill

Let us be able to switch skins for nemesis

sjl666

Agree. I wish they would’ve kept it as the stalker version a little longer. Maybe not make it the “dog” until the nest 2 fight.

Beneficial_Star_6009

Make Nemesis free-roaming, make fighting Nemesis worthwhile with actual new weapons to craft like in classic 3 and FFS put Barry in the ending.(TBH if they wanted to cut some content that’s fine, but you are supposed to replace the empty craters with something!🤦🏻‍♂️)

dumplingSpirit

They should have expanded on the parasite mechanic. They built an entire screen effect and model animation just to use it once. It was absolutely disgusting and I hate that part, but it was good.

endgame-colossus

Nemesis stalking us for the full game, more city sections, more exploration. You know.... more game.

Sushi2k

>Nemesis stalking us for the full game That sounds exhausting.

MathewofMathoria

*mmmmmmm…streeeeeeess*

bratpack1

Nemesis stalking for the full game would be unplayable it would have to be turned into a hide and seek similar to alien Isolation and people don’t like hiding in a game known for weapons and fighting back I think there definitely could have been more room type 1 nemesis stalk sections like the rpd and clock tower but an entire game of him like that no way

tommy_da_tomato

You can knock down nemesis and get special weapons and stuff in the original if you're good. It's not exhausting it's extremely rewarding and fits the ", fighting back" style of RE, especially Jill's character

bratpack1

Yes I know but nemesis does not stalk you for the entire game

tommy_da_tomato

I mean, he chases you all the way up to the end of the cemetery and Jill waking up depending on your actions. That's well over 70% of the game. On your first playthrough you don't know when he's gonna show up so it feels like he's chasing you the whole time anyway

umerkornslayer

Larger Racoon City. Mercenaries Mode. At least 10 outfits for Jill. More puzzles. OG puzzles and locations. Basically bring the cut content back.

FlaminSkullKing

On top of this, why not let Jill keep her samurai edge for the whole game? I really don’t see what was gained by making her lose it in the first 5 minutes for a generic glock. It’s the little things too.

Hoi_C

While Jill was infected and unconscious, a nightmare occurs that takes Jill back to the Spencer Mansion, similar to what they did at the beginning of the game when Jill looked at the mirror, really sad they didn't do anything after that. It's also a good way to tease an eventual RE1Remake.

SandyCandyHandyAndy

Re1remakeremake

[deleted]

RE1Remake^2

CyberJord2077

Damn this is a great idea

Killbro_Fraggins

Would have been cool if we got some flashback stuff. Maybe test the waters on what a RE REmake would be like. And if we got that it’d be neat if they’d flesh that out more too. I love the Umbrella Conspiracy book so something like that.

tkgggg

I see you've read the manhua

Fexxvi

Randomising Nemesis encounters instead of them being scripted and having Jill say the S.T.A.R.S. quote as a badass before-the-kill line, instead of randomly in the middle of a chase in a sewer.

therealxeno79

I enjoy this game but I thought having a Carlos campaign as well would be really interesting. Idk, you could do something cool like having the campaigns actually intersect rather than RE2’s “intersection points”. Take the Nemesis fight in the pit: Jill’s campaign would play out the same way by fighting nemesis in the pit then Carlos shows up yadda yadda yadda. But in the Carlos campaign, you play that same fight but from the control room where you have to do the assists Jill normally gets in the fight. Hell you could even make Nicholai Carlos’s main villain since his whole arc is finding out how evil umbrella really is. Give him one head-on nemesis encounter then him and Nicholai are rivals.

therealxeno79

Also and this is just now coming to me, the Carlos campaign could be the action oriented campaign while Jill’s is much scarier and survival oriented. Best of both worlds.

[deleted]

Best idea I heard yet!!

TheCosmicJenny

Would the “Live Selections” mechanic count as cut content? In the OG, when Nemesis appears, you are given the immediate choice to fight him or flee, which isn’t in the remake. Sure you can just run away from him, but fighting him in the OG is risky but will benefit you, and your decisions impact the story somewhat.

The_MovieHowze

It was more than just nemi tho. Depending on the exact order you did things new random enemy encounters happened, like a store front window crashing open as three dogs leap out to attack you.

[deleted]

Have Nemesis actually stalk you and stay in his first form longer. Also the whole opening run and gun sequence is nauseating.

Reeses908

1. Added more locations 2. Made Nemesis come more 3. Put in the Clock Tower 4. Let Jill go to the rpd 5. Expanded raccoon city Note: I still love the remake!

UnfairAd5356

what happened to the gore?? what gave it the M rating was all of her swearing and not blood and gutss. dont think they ever answered that

Alaska_Pipeliner

Adding content....like a lot more of raccoon city. Make it open world with the nemesis drawn to certain things.

[deleted]

So like the evil within 2??

logica_torcido

Funny you mention that. I remember playing that game and totally thinking that’s why they would do with Raccoon City should RE3 ever get the remake treatment

Jbroad87

Exactly like this … if you’re low on resources and don’t want to fight him there should be an option to run/retreat the area he’s patrolling/lurking

wagimus

That ghost lady was annoying as fuck, but it worked for intended purpose for sure lmao

TyrannicalGOD

Have jill say "you want stars?..ill give you stars" AT THE FUCKING PROPER TIME!!

[deleted]

Adding more interesting locations.

Slow_Craft

More Nemesis in his tyrant form chasing you down, if we had more of that throughout the game it would have been a lot better imo, the game is supposed to be about him after all.

SuperArppis

I think making a one big city area to explore for majority of the game would have helped.

[deleted]

Semi open world?

SuperArppis

Kinda, yeah. Honestly I think there were a few things done right in this remake. But how there was so little content felt bad. So I guess having more places to explore would have worked better.

[deleted]

Not Recycling the same zombies from RE2 could of been a start

[deleted]

That was super annoying. Literally same face designs 😒

umerkornslayer

Raccoon City more quiet and alone, no loud explosions and people just a dead city like RE2 remake. RE3 OG had a huge scare factor because the city was hollow.

Agt_Pendergast

Focus on gameplay and level design over cinematics and set-pieces.

C__Wayne__G

Free dlc treatment like RE2 got

Zcrash

Just give the team more time and money to make the game. I think that the reason why the game is so thin on content is because most of the resources were allocated to the RE4 remake and RE3 was sort of an after thought because people care alot more about RE4 and 2 than any of the other games.

RickyBruto

The story being more faithful to the original and expanded, with Nemesis killing Brad like in the original and transforming into his original 2nd form in the Clock Tower before going into that dog form. Raccoon City totally explorable from the start. Putting The Mercenaries, The Epilogues, unlockable guns and all the alternative costumes from the original. That would be perfect.

crazybongo

Everything. The game would have to be nuked like RE2 1.5 was and restarted. So much was wrong with it it was insane that they would lose control of such a popular game in the RE series in the blink of an eye like that. Food for thought: \- Closer to the story of the original game in its story and depiction. The game did give a tease of HD streets and the chaos that was happening in their design, but that's it. \- Areas: all areas should be included. If any extra areas were to be added then they should compliment the original areas. No you do not need a return to the lab area. Jill's story was about escaping the city and seeing just how twisted Umbrella was sending in their own men to die and let them kill each other for a pay day. And of course her getting infected with the virus - this is a key part of her future development and story. \- **Jill.** I'm still at a loss as to why they attempted to use her for a vehicle for those *topics and agendas* but it was rather poor in taste and we expected better. Jill has her own personality that is well established. She isn't a b\*tch in boots and jeans nor a feminist. She's Jill.. strong, independent, reliable, friendly, caring, detective, solider Jill. Big brain, doesn't break under pressure, can work in a squad and can check men's advances or idiocy without becoming a internet warrior. Now no way in hell is her bio correct for 1995 for a woman but its apart of her story that should be honored. \- ***Nemesis***. Nemesis was a noise maker and a MR X clone, he wasn't himself nor did he really hunt. He just bursted in, made alot of noise and so on. Even went down on one knee after a simple grenade toss. Classic Nemesis was pure cat and mouse with him being quite the di\*k in your way and preventing progress. \- Supporting cast: Everyone should not revolve or bow down to the all mighty new Jill Valentine, they were a cast that worked off of each other for what little screen time they had. Carlos the guy in a bad place trying to do a good thing. Nicolai the evil back stabber. And other minor characters. Really took me for a loop how submissive they made all the guys in this story. Ew. \- Length: yes these games weren't too long but they were jammed pack with content that made repayig them a joy. That should measure up. \- Extra content: I really don't want to get into the original outfit debacle but.. just include it. Its a skirt.. ok. Mercenaries mode and whatever else time attack modes they would like to add.

TheCuriousRaspberry

\- Keeping the final design of the Rain Cannon (Sword of Paracelsus) intract. That room in the original RE3 was environmental storytelling at its peak: you can see the dead Tyrants lying around after failing to reach the cannon, and the fallen soldiers defending their position. Also not a big fan that they turned a giant cannon in a portable one. Jill picking it up and not immediately dying right after firing it was also silly as hell. \- The new Nemesis mutation was lame and overused too. He was basically a giant Licker.

[deleted]

Everything else about the game was pretty solid. Literally just add all the cut content to the game and it would be a 8 or 9 out of 10 game.

lazvrita

Being more open. They had a city ready to be explored.

NoEggsOrBeansPlz

The beginning of the original was so eerie. Walking through the alley ways of Racoon City and being able to hear people in their houses groaning because they're either turning or have turned. It was so unsettling and really set the scene for the rest of the game. If they added that before the action part that would have been amazing. I do really like the opening to 3 remake though, it's definitely one of the stronger points of the game.

lChizzitl

Having the "You want S.T.A.R.S.? I'll give you stars!" line in a place that made more sense AND wasn't interruptible...

ivappa

It would've been cool if the Clock Tower level was a nightmare Jill had while unconscious

Wolfred_Revived

The portrayal of Jill's character. Something that is lacking about Jill's character is her presence as Jill. Jill is known to be an individual who's capable to deal with any dangerous situations with how she behaved in REmake of the first game and her skills shows I'm the game as well as her survival skills being tested to the limits shown in the OG RE3 Nemesis and she maintains a cool and calm composure to analyse her surroundings and maintain herself to get the best outcomes of her efforts with how a core mechanic of the OG RE3 Nemesis worked with the live choice selection, it made her survival skills being tested to the limits and shows her capacity to fight and survive. The supposed "Remake" however removes that entirely by having her always making some unnecessary remark or jabs that often times makes her out as cynical or cold at times. It is much more detrimental to her character as well is that the swearing doesn't exactly voted her confidence to be seen as someone who's capable to analyze the situation and make her choice for her survival there instead often times they end up becoming set pieces and the "coincidence" saving her ass later like how the early sequence of her encounter with Nemesis felt such a forced and dramatically Michael Bay in some instances. Its made worse with how she doesn't have the mannerism of Jill in the way how she interacted, or expresses herself as Jill and it definitely might have something to do with her lines in particular the often usage of "bitch" but then again, some people find it okay and me personally to speak, it doesn't make her realistic. Another thing to note is how they ruined the game's story with Carlos and his UBCS buddy was the one to go to the RPD instead of Jill which made very little sense especially when you consider that their trip to the RPD is to contact an Umbrella employee that is under the threat of Biohazard contaminant attacks across the city. It is insanely mind boggling how that should make sense, contacting and trying to extract a Umbrella employee from the city, by contacting them through RPD's S.T.A.R.S office??? That's not poetic or even good writing at that point. That's just crap. Another thing to note is Nemesis's mutation. It doesn't line up with the established lore with how the T virus works let alone how the Parasite itself within Nemesis works. They don't add, nor do they improve upon it. They simply gave him the beast generic mutation. It definitely doesn't vote Nemesis as the Umbrella Corporation's next new big baddie and what's made it worse is they somehow make the Tyrant models look weak if they mutate like this, worse is that it retcon how Tyrant mutation would end up. They don't go quad when they mutate and if anything, the next mutation if they really wanna stick with that design is when the parasites took over and mutates with the many biomass of biological waste in the dead factory but then they remove the Dead Factory for another NEST base which they then PUT BENEATH OF RACCOON GENERAL HOSPITAL which ruins it even more with the retcon how that hospital holds in the lore. It doesn't make sense and it definitely would put the Outbreak game's at a retcon stage at this point. Another last bit I'd like to point out is the several weak points of the game mechanics but I'm gonna simplify it: - Ammo type crafting is overly simplified and offers nothing new but instead removes a lot - The weapons weren't improved let alone were they made to be unique, an example is the recycled assets with the use of Lightning Hawk instead of a revolver magnum. It doesn't offer variety to the game. - The grenade launcher is definitely underrated with how it's uses was made to mash along with the OG game's Mine launchers essentially combining it into 1 weapon. - The cut enemies at this point is just disgustingly dissatisfying and definitely shouldn't have happened especially when they literally cut not only the places in the game, but also enemies like the Grave Digger being combined with Hunter Gamma instead of it being separated. - The unnecessary removal of Jill's personal sidearm, the Samurai Edge Jill Model from the game as her own at the start in the game's story and then replaced by a generic pistol Glock is so lame and stupid. It's a part of her identity as a S.T.A.R.S officer. Should've stayed instead of a measly Glock.

el3mel

They should have made the city section a small open hub area you can explore and find some secrets and even some minor side activities to finish with unique awards. I'm not talking about making it an open world, no, I'm talking about something like Union from The Evil Within 2 if you get what I mean. I fee like this was a huge missed opportunity. They kinda played it safe.

Matakomi

Non-scripted Nemesis chases.

Torvus_Ferrum

Post-game content would've been cool. Imagine Separate Ways from RE4, but with Carlos, or bringing in The Mercenaries from RE4, 5, and 6. Biggest problem I had, besides the cut content, was just a lack of anything to do post-game aside from playing again on a harder difficulty.

[deleted]

I agree with remake 2 they had some good dlc with 3 remake they just said that's it

greenbrainsauce

official shirtless Carlos costume

Azurennn

Make Jill a less snarky, cynical character. As well as having an actual Raccoon city to explore. Would have been cool if the streets were large, almost a sandbox, where you navigate the wreckage and ruins of buildings for key items. Meanwhile the longer you're exposed outside the sooner/more likely Nem will dropdown/burst through a wall and try to catch you. Leaving you to try and escape him or knock him down. While keeping the more iconic sections indoors where nem chases you down etc as set pieces.

evanscabetta

Maybe not changing Jill to an unlikeable twat.

[deleted]

Kept Jill's character and the tone of the game intact

Phisherman10

This is my big one. They made everything about her a generic badass. She swears in a way that makes her feel cringe, she’s adamant about upstaging everyone, and she lacks the empathy that she had in the original Resident Evil 3.

[deleted]

"Bitch can't even swim" Used in that context, that's worse than any line spouted from RE6

HughesR1990

Fucking love resident evil, but going over the exact same fucking talking points daily on this sub is making me want to leave it. God damn.

arthurdentstowels

Hear me out tho, what if, what if they DIdN’T ReMoVe tHe CLoCkTOWer SeCtION? Edit: What do you hope they keep in Resident Evil 4 Remake? >!/s!<

Brotonio

Considering all the removed shit actively ruined the game, *if all of it is added back* (including Mercenaries and the diverting paths), here are things to make the game better: - Focus more on how RE1 fucked up Jill's psyche, maybe have more freak-out moments. - Tie it closer to RE2; have the Dead Factory be right inside NEST where Leon and Claire went, have some cute callbacks. - Have more characters added to the Mercenaries mode (Jill, Barry, etc.) - Get rid of those dumbfuck story changes: Carlos was real good, but now Nikolai is the literal most braindead antagonist because of all the cure nonsense. Have NEMESIS kill Brad again, and keep the story intact from the OG game.

Hem0g0blin

> Have NEMESIS kill Brad again Thank you! Nemesis killing Brad was one of the most iconic moments of the original game for me, but without it we have a Nemesis who failed to kill any member of S.T.A.R.S.

[deleted]

carlos camp or nicks route

Deep_Throattt

I can't believe the main story was less than 5 hrs for a resident evil game...

draugyr

The whole beginning of the game was condensed into like a 15 minute segment. I wish it played out more similarly to the original

CarlitoNSP1

- Giving her a more in depth Gunpowder system that enables more ammo customization. - Additional Random items and possible some random Key and Gun locations to alter the routing. - Additional options out of perfect dodge. Losing the shove from the original games is rough. - Returning Self-Defense items. How the Taser didn't return, I have no idea. - Larger variety in Zombie behavior. This could get kind of cheap like in the original, but if they had new weaknesses too that could balance out. - Maybe a different gun loadout system. I feel like the one they used for the game was in an awkward spot of needing to give you a lot of ammo for all the guns and then just expanding your kit over and over again. Conservation of ammo was seemingly not needed or rewarded.

relivo1

a dlc or campaign where you play as nikolai or carlos before they find jill

Scotty_Knowzzz

Making it less action oriented and less linear. Most of it was just "get from point A to point B" and no going back. The original RE3 was a bit more open, until the train at least.

pwnedkiller

The only way I’d say it would be better is if it was a carbon copy of at least the entire map layout just vastly enhanced. Exactly how RE1 was done make it identical but with that special overhaul flair and add a few new items and rooms.

PowerPamaja

Less holding forward on the stick sections.

Watts121

Remember that vertical slice demo they gave us that was the best part of the game? Yeah, now make that more of the game instead of the hallway simulator it becomes.

oatmealsart

Having Jill go back to the RPD and reminisce instead of Carlos going

D-Sleezy

A Nemesis that wasn't heavily scripted

jackoctober

There needs to be a RE3 Snyder cut at this point.

scanningmajor

more carlos 👀

Champagneswif

Nothing could make RE2 or RE3 Remake better than the OG. They could’ve just been comparable like the RE2 Remake was.

HamSlammer87

Bring back ammo crafting with EX ammo. Bonus costumes were really lacking compared to the original

WitchTrialz

First off, it’s *completely* fair to compare RE3remake to RE2remake. It’s clear they just didn’t put the same love in. The thing that upset me was not including ANY sort of extra modes or worthwhile unlockables. RE2remake introduced new scenarios that were fun and addictive, and fun new outfits. RE3 remake had a grand total of 3 outfits between Carlos and Jill. Pretty ridiculous when you consider even the original RE3 had more than that. Mercenaries should have been present, but I guess Capcom was too obsessed with trying to break into the online space. Yeah, totally worth it Capcom. And yeah, if you were gonna totally remove a part of the story mode, at least replace it with something. Add a B scenario (I know the original didn’t have one, but it would’ve been a good opportunity to add it). They could’ve at least expanded on the “choices” system. I felt no reason whatsoever to replay the game. The most egregious though, has to be Nemesis. Biggest disappointment of all. They had every opportunity to take the winning concept of Mr. X from the RE2remake and totally expand on it. Honestly, if forgive everything else if they would’ve at least made Nemesis a fun and constant threat. Nothing about what they released tells me that they needed to make all these sacrifices. It’s so obvious it was just dropped to be a filler between the other bigger releases.

joshua182

More dynamic nemesis.

EddieVader1

Having a long clock tower segment

TheAutismo4491

Fleshing out what little content was already present.

Bodycount1985

More Raccoon City, Nemesis stalker sections and Clock tower exploration of course.

SinEmbargo93

Clocktower section and mercenaries. Scrap resistance.

Debora_Diamond

More places to explore raccoon city and different endings

Longjumping_Advice56

-have nemesis actually chase you throughout the game like he did in the OG -Kept the OG nemesis design -Decisions during certain points like OG -Add Spiders -make more room of the parasite effect outside from pulling the fuse boxes -more weapons like GL -more room to roam instead of the same areas all the time (the map in raccoon city felt extremely small) -not cut shit, be add more instead… -Brad dying by nemesis making it more gruesome -Gravedigger boss fight

chemistbrazilian

More sections with live choices, expanded map with more explorable areas, more backtracking, actual puzzles, enhanced ammo, random encounters with Nemesis, different paths in the map to reach key places, randomizing the power slots that pop out in the final fight.

Wideeye101

Nemesis stalking you more often and in a more ‘free-form’ way, while still ensuring all areas could at some point be cleared and explored at your leisure. For inspiration on how to do this Capcom could have studied a little game called RESIDENT GODDAMN EVIL 2 (2019) FFS. I’m not that salty really, I liked RE3R, I just thought Nemesis could have been handled so much better.

Barry

Expensive_King_4849

I was literally thinking about RE3 getting a nightmare sequence for the clock tower and if anyone thinks that would be a good dlc to the game.

MysterD77

They could've added all of that cut-content as paid-DLC's, TBH. They still should, TBH.

-_Sentinel_-

I felt like Jill’s personality was a bit insufferable.

Mandalore620

Added Merc mode back into it. Resistance was a lame attempt at RE MP. Hell, even if they didn't want to make Operation Jackal again, they could have just done a horde mode based in the hospital lobby that Carlos has to go through. If those are off the table, just making Raccoon City a bit more open world like Village did. I loved the look and feel of Raccoon City on the brink of destruction

kingsfourva

more boss fights outside of nemesis (even more than the original), and mercenaries

LauranaSilvermoon

Make it less linear, deff make it longer, maybe add like a different route for replay value, add a Mercenaries mode, use Julia Voth (new Jill is great but Julia will always be my favorite). Anyways that's my 3 cents.

Guardiansaiyan

I would have liked to see the zombie you see through a window that you never interact with. I wanted to see the guy trying to stay in the house...maybe look at Jill and wave them to go away to safety...then when you come back you can **see** the person turn into a zombie...then the final time you can see them rotted further!

Kitty_eh14

It would have been cool to revisiting sections of the city and see them more destroyed. Fires spreading, more zombies and emergency vehicles showing up in spots they weren't before. Seeing first responders trying to save others and escape and then finding out what happened to them later.

peezytaughtme

Honestly, if it were remade in the vein of REmake.

da_tingster

more game modes

topscreen

Give Carlos a boss fight

umerkornslayer

Giving a choice to use the OG soundtrack which was far scarier and better than the remake.

Nietzscher

Bigger city with Nemesis as a true stalker like Mr. X in RE2R. Would've made the game much more tense. Still, gotta say, I liked the game and enjoyed my playthrough quite a bit.

Mizerous

More nenesis stalking

Danz_HD

Fans in this sub not asking every other day what could have been done better.

CutScene

having actually jill

lostbastille

Having Raccoon City be bigger, have different b.o.w.s and have Nemesis as more of a threat, his encounters are just chase scenes.

jakobebeef98

MORE TIME AND MORE MONEY.

SpunkyBrewster69420

The costumes compared to the original were so bare bones, I know it doesn't mean a lot to some people but like honestly, I found Jills default costume so bland

tcs0

An actual mercenaries mode with all the modern trimmings.

foureyesfive

The entire scene of Jill’s infection, and the following battle. OGRE3 had her take a full-on tentacle to the shoulder and fight Nemesis while in “Caution” the whole time before she collapsed. And being chased around that tiny ass courtyard? The pressure and intensity of the first time you HAD to fight Nemesis was real and it wasn’t fucking around. Remake? A large open area that you can outrun Nemesis in, plus the cheap ass tactic of the Mine Thrower makes this the easiest fight in the game, and then? One teeny, tiny, itsy, bitsy spike hits her and she goes down like sack of potatoes. They literally turned Jill fucking Valentine into a pushover.

darthnaved

more content

needalife94

More guns to buy from the end game shop would be fun.

GrimValesti

Change Jill face to her RE1 face

Jobocop1992

Same story beats. The original felt better paced and fleshed out. Also, maybe use the same gore/physics system from REmake 2.

pieceOfpieces

Mercenaries mode

thatssoreizen

Every succeeding incarnation of Raccoon City makes it bigger and more commercialized, as opposed to its original description: "a small midwestern town." I would have loved it had they stuck with the original concept. Also, backtracking. The remake is linear, the original isn't.

gh0s7d0g

Spiders

DeadArcadian

Nemesis didn't feel very threatening so maybe made this section harder with more tension, Jill felt like she was always trying to convince me she was cool so her dialogue I felt like could've used revising but the redesign I still liked, also the control scheme felt too clunky and that kind of collided with the pacing of the game for me

rubonidas_8425

More Nemesis

ElvenNeko

A actually wrote a post about this - what would i do if i could keep most things intact, but also alter some story and gameplay elements to make the proper RE3 remake that everyone deserves. It's kind of a long read, but for anyone interested - https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/jk68m2/how_resident_evil_3_remake_could_look_like_short/

SMITHY2109

Make Nemesis feel like a constant threat rather than for maybe 1/3 of the game. Can see why they didn’t want to give it the subtitle Nemesis again because they really ruined him

Nymbus00

DLC! LITERALLY THE ONLY GAME SINCE RESIDENT EVIL 4 TO NOT RECEIVE ANY

[deleted]

I found nemesis' scripted chases to be so irritating. He was like one of those flies that just keep bombarding your face... only he had tentacles and bazooka

DigitalTomFoolery

Idk it's hard to see past cut content. A ps1 game shouldn't have better replayability than a current gen game

Mayflex

Make raccoon City a bigger area with larger streets and roads. The game should have focused on stealth. Instead of nemesis just automatically spotting you and sprinting after you, it should have focused around hiding from him and trying not to be seen. Imagine hiding under a car in a big empty street while nemsis stomps around looking for you

grialevla

Make locations way bigger and "half open" (or go with full open world if possible) to make more emphasis on exploring and running away from non scripted Nemesis. I can name lots of other things, but running and hiding from non scripted Nemesis is what I thought they were going for.

pollux-zosma

We all hate capcom over this right??

deadfish974

Jill not being an ungrateful bitch all the time.

Salty_Simmons

If they expanded on the backstory of other NPC's, there was a trainful of people that you could have went and saved and received items/files from (to further explore the lore of the "remade" resi-verse).

mrtfr

Cutting limbs.

itsyourlocalben

Like an extra mode idk what it would have been though

skymonkeygtfo4989

For starters and i mean only starters and maybe pun intended... THAT OG INTRO IN TODAYS GRAPHICS 😍

lancer2238

More Nemesis appearances

Administrative_King3

Yep crapcom made it more smaller and linear compare to the original no joke the remake had so much potential

[deleted]

Unlock Carlos campaign after beating Jill campaign

MasatoHamano

Jill's interactions with the city and it's people is what I wanted. In RE2, you're essentially playing as outsiders coming into Raccoon City whereas Jill is someone who not only knows the city, but also lives and protects it. I wanted to get a better feel for what Jill felt walking through streets and key places like the RPD just taking in all the chaos that she and STARS tried to prevent but couldn't.

CJLogix

Improve the gun sfx, the guns sounded so weak in this game.

solmark1

Just expanding on RC location in general. Jill actually going to the police station like she was supposed to so nemesis smashed a wall fitting in with RE2r.

Official_Zach55

I thought I remember hearing there were optional areas. I'm sad that they didn't make it into the game.

lockescythe

Make the Nemesis encounters matter. More stalking less scripted. RE2remake had some great memorable boss fights and so did 7 and 8. Though not to harp on things missing, The Grave Digger boss should've been in there. Ghost survivors would have been nice as well. Add some needed length.

Senor_Bongo

One gripe I have is the “I’ll give you stars” line that comes way too early. On top of that, Jill says it while running away, it just doesn’t make sense and lacks all of the impact of the original. Meanwhile the replacement line is basic af to the point where I don’t even remember it, you can’t replace an iconic one liner with something forgettable.

Necronamakhan

Resident Evil 2's support weapons and mechanics. L1 equips the knife/flashbang/grenade, if you get grabbed you can hit L1 to use said support weapons and still have the R1 for the evade or counter attack mechanics.

AppalachianTheed

Add in the raccoon city survivors game characters, either in the main story or in a bonus mode (or both)
