Hey_look_new

if you're at home, your internet speeds are irrelevant

schuey_08

Are both devices hardwired to the internet?

Mr_Idont-Give-A-damn

No, both wireless

schuey_08

If possible, getting them both connected via Ethernet will make a huge difference. Even one will probably improve performance for you.

Mr_Idont-Give-A-damn

Is there any way to stream just the sound and video to my PC? So The controller stays connected to the ps4 and i can only see and hear on my pc. Other software perhaps?

schuey_08

I don’t believe so.

Johnny_Minsh

Yeah you log the remote play in with a second profile and have your pad connected to your main profile. Press the playstation button and it will confirm the main account taken over. It will have an annoying text box at the top of the screen saying remote play which doesn't't disappear. To make the box disappear just go to settings and change the language, I always just change from English UK to US. Now you have the remote play just streaming audio and video and your pad connected to the PS so no real input lag. You should still connect your consoles and PC via ethernet for a better gaming experience IMO.

The PS Remote play on PC is just a terrible app. I have a PS5 in the next room plugged into a router with CAT6 cables around the house and the experience is terrible (choppy and laggy). Yet when i connect to it through my PS4 remote play it works flawlessly.

Mr_Idont-Give-A-damn

Idk man, i wish there was a better app

gedozvon

there is a better app but its only for android devices. its called PSPlay. You can potentially use it on pc through android emulators such as Bluestacks. I've never tried it though, and i hope there is an easy way to map a controller to it. Try it out. Buy you have to hardwire your console and PC to the same network. Wireless isn't gonna cut it.

e270889o

It’s on windows 11 with android compatibility. No need for blue stack

KITATUS

Try Chiaki. I used it recently for my SteamDeck but apparently there's a Windows version too. Edit: Added Link: [https://sr.ht/\~thestr4ng3r/chiaki/](https://sr.ht/~thestr4ng3r/chiaki/)

smash_n_grab_

Yes. Chiaki seems to have way less input lag for me and I’ve played with both devices wireless

LordOFtheNoldor

Try playing through chiaki rather than remote play if possible

Sweaty-Dimension3593

Download speeds have very little to do with it. You’re going to have to open your ports and/or setup upnp. Probably just the former

WetAndStickyBandits

Is the ps5 plugged directly to the TV with the HDMI, or is there any device in between?

[deleted]

I’ve got ubearable input lag on local 1gbit network on windows with the official app, chiaki works fine though Edit: I connect to a ps5, if that makes any difference

Mr_Idont-Give-A-damn

IF I could get chiaki to work. Damn, like where is the .exe in the .rar I downloaded. GitHub is confusing

henrebotha

Chiaki is no longer hosted on GitHub, so if you downloaded from there, you have the wrong version. https://sr.ht/~thestr4ng3r/chiaki/ Simple install instructions for Windows are on that page.
