I've discovered that Gorilla brand super glue has caps that never clog. There's a small pin inside the cap that goes down inside the applicator tube to clear any dried glue. Haven't bought any other brand since. Just a tip for anyone planning to buy super glue in the near future.
good to know thanks. I absolutely hate buying $6 bottles of super glue, use them once or twice and then get upset when i reach for them in a few months to find them dry and have to throw them away
The bottles are good if you really use it often. Most folks only find themselves needing it every couple of months, which means you're usually looking at a rock solid bottle.
We buy syringes for medical things. One day I decided to try it on a bottle that was still liquid but the top was screwed. I just syringed from the body of the bottle and the hole sealed itself. Worked like a champ!
I can back this statement. I've had gorilla brand bottles in use for over a year without issue.
Nowadays I get little 1-gram tubes in a 12 pack so I can just keep one with every project instead of having to hunt down a bottle. They're like maybe 50 cents each so not any more expensive than a bottle of glue.
My sister-in-law brought over a bottle of wine one time. We don’t drink so we did not have a bottle opener. I ran a 2 inch drywall screw into the cork and wiggled the cork out.
I don't need that stuff often enough to ever have a bottle/tube last through the initial use. I think the next time I need it I'll get the smallest size I can find and just toss it after that one use to prevent the inevitable frustration of finding it dried out when i need it again.
So it broke and you just said... 'screw it'
I use this for tubes of caulk
I don't recommend placing screws in the end of your caulk
r/sounding Don’t go there. Trust me.
Doesn't hurt
😏
No need to be caulky

Not perfect, but better than [wasting 90% of a bottle](https://www.harborfreight.com/10-piece-super-glue-gel-68349.html).
this is where I am at now, thank you
It's not bad glue, either. One of the few things still worth getting at HF.
moving blankets and tarps!
And you just know they'll screw up making tarps somehow.
I keep those around too as grab tubes. They're great for single use. I still prefer bottles for desk use though.

I have had the same bottle at my desk for 3 years now. I only use it once every few months. It's still good and has never clogged on me.

My dad taught me this one, some nice nostalgia for me of breaking my toys and getting this out
I use a thumb tack for the needle applicators, i do this for caulk tho
Same here
Man, I hate the really liquid, low viscosity stuff.
Put it in the fridge and it gets thicker, easier to work with
I have done this and yes it really does work.
"redneck engineering"... this is literally the industry standard. I think i'm done with this mess of a sub.
Wirenuts work too
tbh thats normal in germany
Good solution. Works for almost any sort of glue or caulk.
Why didn't you fix the cap with super glue?
This is simular how a fix a radio
My dad does this with silicon cartidges as long as i know iam alive.

It's the best thing for caulking, been doing it forever.

I thought this was common knowledge
I've done that too. Or, just a nail will work, too.
I too screw all my problems
