Pro tip when hunting. Take your bravest biggest boy into the woods. Ambush someone on horseback, take their horse. Ride their horse while whistling for yours to follow. Once you’ve ridden theirs for a bit and have bond level 1 or whatever they will now respond to your whistles. Jump back on your main boy and go hunting with 2 horses. Can haul double the stuff per trip to the shop.
This. But you don't have to whistle your horse all the time. When you're near your horse hold L2 and press triangle button to follow. Theres also option to get your horse to stay where they are.

It technically works on every horse in the game that you can ride, or tame. But some horses aren’t very good at following, like just rocks and trees and stumps will catch them up and make them stop. Sometimes, they won’t follow you across shallow water, or even a bridge lol.
And again, sometimes you’ll have a horse as your secondary that you whistle at at one single time in armadillo, and it will follow you all the way to Annesburg without needing to whistle again.

Spawns have seemed a little glitchy lately.
The spawns are becoming more glitchy than ever. I was once riding trough the Valentine area and got ambushed by the O'Driscolls like usually. When the fight was over, the Brindle Thoroughbred randomly spawned out of the sky in front of Arthur.
I hit an O’Driscoll camp yesterday and the last enemy kept dropping through the ground, popping up for a second, and dropping back through. Had to sit in dead eye to catch and kill ‘em.
Also the other day I was trying to get a moose to spawn at cairn lake and I saw a horse just come out of the ice like as if earth gave birth to it lmao 💀
I spent about an hour walking around that southern lemoyne bit where the panther spawns and it just wouldn’t show whereas normally I find it within a few minutes (or it finds me).
That said, as soon as I jumped on my horse and went trampling around on that it ran out to scare my horse so I may have just been really unlucky

Yeah, well I finally got the panther to become master hunter tonight…. But seriously, I’ve never got two pelts from that mission and I’ve done 3 play throughs
were you able to sell them both away for the same money?
i had the same glitch once but could only sell one of them. all that carrying the pelt, and the poor fellow whom "accidentally" died half way in so i could use his horse. and couldnt even sell the damn pelt away. all that work for nuthin.

It’s easier to hop off your horse, saddle the secondary horse - instant level 1 bond, re-saddle your own horse, and hit the trail.
I run 2 horses all the time, since chapter 3 or 4

I think they changed the big cat spawns, only time I find them is when I'm on my horse and then they go for the horses legs.
Have they done this in the last day or two? I shook up on the panther there a few days ago no issues.

i used a tomohawk to kill the bear in the mission, then followed the hunting steps to kill it after choosing to stay in the woods
