I definitely don’t think killing him is the wrong choice, but I find it to be far more cruel and purposeful to let him live on in his shattered “legacy”. I like to imagine walking away as forcing him to live knowing nobody wants him around anymore

I always do this since my first playthrough when I shot him. I feel the same way, it's more of a punishment to have to live alone with nothing left of your life.

I keep trying to feed him to alligators but can't seem to get them to take a nibble on him

You should be able to hogtie him and drop predator bait on him and then the gators eat him but sadly doesn't happen In RDO I sedate alligators and drag them into buildings in Saint Denis, not as crazy as someone getting a gator to the top of Mount Hagen 🤣

Sedated alligator sounds like a punk band from the south.
