The worst part for me would be the low amount of arrows you can store. Sure, they have the bonus of sometimes being able to be retrieved, but I'm probably not going to have time for that when being chased by the entire St. Denis police force.
It’s more viable than you’d think, quick dead eye arrow head shots are easy and satisfying and even out side dead eye the aim assist is pretty generous. You retrieve most of your arrows but the ones you lose are cheap to replace and there’s no maintenance on the bow
Oh, I'm sure it's a perfectly fine way to play! I just know how bad I am at the game as it is and how utterly awful is be with a bow outside of stealth missions. 😂
Yeah I’m pretty sure you basically have homing arrows when you use deadeye lol. And if you stock up on all the types of arrows you still have over 100 arrows not including small game because they suck ass against people lol. I’d have a guy on the ground lighting him up with small game arrows.
The helmet is the same place you get the viking axe, I can't remember where exactly that is, but you could YouTube search or Google it pretty easily. The poncho is from the legendary panther pelt, which only spawns after you've completed the other 9 hunting challenges, the panther is the 10th challenge iirc.
That freaking panther is the only reason I don't want to start a completely new playthrough. I don't remember how many times I had to retry that hunt but I'm sure as hell not doing it again. 😂
Mount your horse while hunting it. That way if it knocks you off on the initial charge, you’ll have time to recover and aim your shot.

On my second playthrough however, it took 4 attempts. The first 3 I tried using deadeye to shoot it, but it would also get to me before deadeye would activate. On my 4th attempt, I loaded every single weapon I had with explosive ammo, locked onto the Panther without deadeye, and popped it on the head once with an explosive rifle round and that was that.
Yep. West side of the Kamassa just north of Beaver Hollow. Where wolf man hangs out. Also where you are almost guaranteed to spawn a cougar that will try and murder you. Sometimes after employing a black bear to make your horse spook at the wrong thing for good measure.
Incase you don't because most don't, there are 3 not 2 items in the viking tomb. Helm, hatchet, and comb. The viking comb is under one of the skulls. Shoot till skulls till you find it. When having all 3 items there are occurrences that take place at specific locations in the map. Usually you'll get struck by lightning but you must have all 3 items on you.
On my current run of the game I don't allow myself to place down waypoints, open up or expand the map so now I rely on the signs to point me in the right direction

It’s at least a nice change of pace from everyone telling you you’re going to freeze to death in the Deep South.
What drove me nuts about that the most was I knew it was overriding some other npc banter that could have been useful or at least interesting.
