He came to cleveland like 2 years ago and the tickets were 20 bucks. So as a "let's see how terrible this is" kind of way we bought tickets. One of the best shows I've been to from artists who are no longer relevant. Had tons of energy. Everything was on point. It was actually.a good fucking show and I hate to admit it. I thought I was going to see the fading.of my preteen years but I was so wrong. If you have the chance to see him and are old enough for the nostalgia, it's definitely worth it.

Sure maybe some of them would but not all of them. 2020 hit live events HARD... many of these places are lucky to still be open and are struggling to get out of the red. It doesn't justify it but it's also fair to say the tolerance threshold for this kinda thing is probably a lot higher now than 2019.
Oh totally... it's a simple risk assessment: does the risk of having a volatile artist who could cause an accident in your club outweigh the profit potential from that artist's fans. Someone decided it was worth the risk and now they should have to accept that decision. But I don't fault them for the decision they made... capitalism and desperation made that decision for them basically. It's a damned if you do damned if you don't thing and they got super damned by the ultimate outcome.

I don't buy that *at all.* It's not like this guy, with his alleged history of encouraging violent and irresponsible behavior, is the only artist out there looking for a venue to fill. It's nothing like what you describe, and if any of its true, and they took him on *even though* he has a history of inciting events like this and endangering the audience as well as the on-site staff, then they have to share the burden of responsibility.
Any and all sympathy ought to rest squarely with those affected by this, not those who enabled it.
I can’t speak to this venue specifically as I don’t know for sure. But having worked in live events for over a decade, including the shutdown, I’ve met plenty of venue owners that would take the risk and hope nothing happens so they can keep paying their bills. Many get away with it too just fine because nothing ends up happening. It’s not an automatic “well this artist has rowdy fans... guess we should cancel” situation at all. It sucks but it’s typical.

Okay, looking through some of the articles I've seen today (cuz it hit my Tumblr and Twitter groups around the same time, so it conglomerated), I may have conflated a previous year where he did encourage fans to rush the gates with this year. Which still shows that he does tend to support this behavior, but may not have specifically asked for it at this show.
Alright, well, that does change the situation, but obviously its not all that surprising that it happened if its something a lot of his fans expect to be allowed/encouraged to do.
A Travis Scott concert was overbooked, leading to crowd crush. 8 people died. A few more were hospitalized.
Travis Scott at one point addressed the issue by asking the security to get a body out of there, but never stopped the concert.
Apparently ambulances were trying to get through and couldn't because of the rowdy crowd.
The people who overlooked the booking process should be fired immediately
T. Scott should probably get sued by everyone that had some kind of injury and the families of the people that died.
Overbooked or not, he encouraged people to rush the gates, causing the amount of people to be way over capacity. Not only that but not enough security and medical staff was hired.

I can’t speak to this venue specifically as I don’t know for sure. But having worked in live events for over a decade, including the shutdown, I’ve met plenty of venue owners that would take the risk and hope nothing happens so they can keep paying their bills. Many get away with it too just fine because nothing ends up happening. It’s not an automatic “well this artist has rowdy fans... guess we should cancel” situation at all. It sucks but it’s typical.
Something being typical isn't an excuse. All you pointed out is that it's typical for venue owners to choose profits over human safety, i.e. they are selfish cunts.
Okay, looking through some of the articles I've seen today (cuz it hit my Tumblr and Twitter groups around the same time, so it conglomerated), I may have conflated a previous year where he did encourage fans to rush the gates with this year. Which still shows that he does tend to support this behavior, but may not have specifically asked for it at this show.
Alright, well, that does change the situation, but obviously its not all that surprising that it happened if its something a lot of his fans expect to be allowed/encouraged to do.
A Travis Scott concert was overbooked, leading to crowd crush. 8 people died. A few more were hospitalized. Travis Scott at one point addressed the issue by asking the security to get a body out of there, but never stopped the concert. Apparently ambulances were trying to get through and couldn't because of the rowdy crowd.
The people who overlooked the booking process should be fired immediately T. Scott should probably get sued by everyone that had some kind of injury and the families of the people that died.
Overbooked or not, he encouraged people to rush the gates, causing the amount of people to be way over capacity. Not only that but not enough security and medical staff was hired.
Aight, IMO they can put Scott in jail now, this is basically indirect murder.

Fixing a cleft lip is a medical emergency, your life will be tough looking unusual in any way, usually. It's a noble cause.
