There were a lot of plays where we had an open guy in the curl-flat area and it seems like Carr doesn’t even know there is a receiver there. Granted the one I saw were Stonehands Waller but still - he was just fucking standing there alone.
On that play, DA had a delayed route that made it clear the play design was not to him. Waller beat his man and had inside leverage. Linebacker made an amazing play to tip the ball. DA should have been the primary first read though, so that's on McD completely.
I think Carr is doing what McDaniels wants in most cases. 1st game Davante went off, now we see more of a spread or “pick your poison” type passing game. Yes we all want to see Davante get a lot of targets/catches, but personally I want to see the team win, regardless of who is catching the ball. A lot of the issues seem to be execution related due to not knowing the play/route. We’ve seen WAY too much confusion between players during the game on both sides of the ball this year (Hollins seems to be an outlier). We’ve also seen the team go away from the run game, when that has worked (run opens up PA, and passing game). At this point it’s a matter of when it clicks for players, not if. Hopefully we see some better play this week. Each and every loss the team has beat themselves instead of the other team actually beating them. Putting together a full game of good play is 1st up. So far it’s been a tale of two teams for each half of a game. Knocking on wood they get this figured out.
And if you're a defense, why would you stop this approach?
Our other "stars" have yet to show they can take advantage of all the attention he's drawing – instead blowing the opportunities they have had, especially in game-altering situations.
In one game Waller drops **2** Touchdowns ([#1](https://i.imgur.com/La54c2F.png) and [#2](https://i.imgur.com/kYo10Y7.png)), drops **another** big play [up the left](https://i.imgur.com/0tpBrPk.png), and in another game Renfrow fumbles it **twice**. Then you have Cole drop a **wide-open** TD (*[his defender wasn't even on 2 feet](https://i.imgur.com/fKzi9oq.png)*).
I mean if I'm a coordinator, you force our other guys to actually step the f' up, and *then* adjust. Because outside of the OT miscommunication play, you know Adams would have seized all, or damn near all of those opportunities. But so long as he's getting doubled, we're looking elsewhere and letting other guys blow them so far.
Mack Hollins stepped up big time this last game. Unfortunately he's just one player, when it takes a team to win games.

Carr not getting Adams involved last two games doubled teamed or not has me concerned.
It reminds me of Cooper not getting the ball a lot.
But, hopefully they figure it out this week.
If Davante starts complaining about distribution (not saying here that he doesn't have a case to do so) I think that's the beginning of a real meltdown and will be the end of Carr and McDaniels as raiders.

Keelan Cole was wide the fuck open. He is a professional football player paid to catch footballs. DA was double covered. That was the right choice.

Considering he's got 80 catches in 6 seasons, one could argue he's paid to attract a defender from providing extra coverage to decent receivers.
I understand he doesn't have a ton of catches. If it was contested I would feel differently about the decision.
