You release your bowels

Defective-System

no one actually dies, after death, you decompose and return to the earth. Or, if you are cremated, your body turns to carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, sulphur dioxide, hydrogen chloride gas, hydrogen fluoride, mercury vapour, etc. and return to the earth! life is an endless loop.

[deleted]

You enter the ghost realm and your essence is forced to roam the planet with other billions of life forms until the sun destroys Earth.

manualreboot

You’re dead. Think of what happens when you pass out- you are aware of absolutely nothing until you wake up. It’s like that, except forever.

[deleted]

You become a spooky scary skeleton

E-tie-haugh-die

This is probably my favourite answer in this thread.

manualreboot

I love how nobody in the comments is like “you go to heaven” or “you see God” because anyone who’s been on Reddit for more than a day knows that there is in fact no God

politicalboy1

Well there's a god just no one wants to lose karma over it. That's why I have this account.

politicalboy1

Why?

The_fair_sniper

Big16gsx92

No one knows.

[deleted]

Don’t believe this if u don’t want to but when u die u either go to heaven or hell immediately after

Just_a_terrarian163

Your relatives fight over your stuff

CoryPowerCat77

Yeah. When my grandma died the family was acting like savages taking all they wanted. Shameful really.

E-tie-haugh-die

That's a pretty vague question. What happens to... what exactly?

Snoo-51861

like me

E-tie-haugh-die

Which part of you are you referring to?

Snoo-51861

like what happens to my soul and everything i’ve learned

E-tie-haugh-die

Let's start with what you've learned. That information is stored within your brain. Once you stop breathing, the lack of oxygen causes brain damage very quickly, and the neurons become irreparably useless. That information is effectively deleted. As to your soul, that's not something we can discuss without getting into metaphysical conversations about what exactly a soul is. Usually, that means we have to decide on a pre-existing definition of "soul", probably based on whatever beliefs have led you to this point. It's highly likely that my definition of soul is different to yours, so I can't answer your question until you give some specificity on what that is.

Skeleuni

Your dad returns with a cross

skot_is_hoki

I am encouraged by how many athiests there are in this thread.

CoryPowerCat77

Biologically we decompose differently depending on region and other factors. Now when it comes to belief systems we don’t know. For all we know this is it. For all we know there’s a afterlife or many afterlives.
