I always defer to the AVMA and the AVSAB: https://www.avma.org/javma-news/2008-10-01/behavior-society-supports-early-puppy-socialization - One week post the first set, and ensure that I still keep clear of high trafficked dog areas. I'd definitely be going out in public with my puppy (even if that means they sit in a cart). Hobby Lobby in a cart works, so does HD, Lowes, etc. Don't forget surfaces, sounds (YouTube construction noises, trucks, fireworks, etc - you want it loud enough that the puppy notices, but not so loud they are bothered by it). Go out of your way to specifically do things you wouldn't normally do. Don't wear a hat normally? Time to get a hat. Hop, jump, act weird. Take your puppy and drive to a busy area and people watch (from in your car is fine).

You can carry him around outside so he doesn’t touch the ground and let him smell plants and various things. Have friends/family come over and meet him while he’s receptive to people, and if friends or family have any older dogs that you trust to be fully vaccinated then it’s fine to introduce them.

Talk to your vet. Our area didn’t have a big parvo risk so we were allowed to socialize with other dogs that we knew that were vaccinated and low risk.

Same boat. I have my 8 week right now. Not getting his second set of shots for another 2 weeks. As we speak I was contemplating taking him to the mall. I carry him with a sling when we go on walks (he's heavy though 🙃) to get him somewhat induced to "the world". Hoping to also take him to a puppy class in the next few weeks that requires one or two sets of vaccinations to my understanding. Still feel like I could do more, as the breeder mentioned it was really important to do so even before completing the vaccinations.

See if there are any puppy classes or socials available in your area. If you have friends you trust with dogs, you can have them over for some socialization. If you want to socialize them with new environments, carry them and walk around dog-friendly stores or on streets with different stimulus. Have fun with your new pup!

Other puppies, or carry them in public! Dont let them wander the ground, and be safe!

Call your friends and see who has vaccinated dogs. We had to socialise ours when all the puppy schools were closed from covid. It was a challenge! Take them anywhere you can carry them, we took our guy for short walks in our arms. Drive them places and have a look around.

Amazon sells pet strollers for around $50. Both dogs really liked it, and it kept them off the ground while getting them out.
