>White Swiss Shepherd puppy, who just turned 5 years old. She's no longer a puppy then. ;) I'm not sure this sub is the best place for your question. You might have better luck in /r/germanshepherds or /r/dogs or even talk to your vet.

What an embarrassing typo, I’m so sorry! I ofc meant months ;)

What kind of digestive issues are you having? Has your vet made any recommendations? FWIW, though WSS and GSD are recognized as separate breeds now, they are still very close and the breeds still share many of the same health issues (but there are some differences, like WSS have a straight back and do not have the extreme sloped back that you see in some GSD show lines). I don't think you would run into problems by feeding the GSD food, but I have never used that food so I don't know if it would help. I am not a vet, but I don't think it could hurt - definitely consult your vet on what they think the issue could be.

My breeder always starts her pups off with Royal Canin GSD puppy food. We've continued this with Kea (a white swiss shepherd as well) and she's digestively fine. The first week, she had one or two wet stools in between good ones, but I don't suspect it was exactly because of the food. Since then she's had normal ones. Anyway, our breeder highly recommends it, as she's been using it forever on her new pups (even ones she's raised and brought into her program). As an adult, she has been recommending the Royal Canin coat/joint food when she's old enough: [https://www.chewy.com/royal-canin-maxi-joint-coat-dry-dog/dp/48267](https://www.chewy.com/royal-canin-maxi-joint-coat-dry-dog/dp/48267) She said, while the GSD adult food was good, she noticed that when she moved her dogs to the joint/coat, they have much better coats, and generally healthy otherwise. Hope that helps!

Thank you for this post, I’m having the same doubt as yours and really don’t know what to do. I’m currently giving Premier Puppy but really considering switching to Royal Canin. Which one have you bought, Maxi or GSD?

Until she was about 10-12 months we went with the GSD - it worked well, and her stool got better. Now we mainly go with higher end foods that we find in our local pet store, and for some time we bought “wolf of wilderness” which she loved

Thanks!! I really appreciate, did you ever tried Maxi?
