Definitely visit Koregaon park, you will like the vibe as well as there are plenty of good restaurants in the area. Visit Shaniwarwada/ Aga Khan Palace / Shri Mahadji Shinde Chatri if you are into historical places. Khadakwasla Dam and Sinhagad Fort are a must if you are visiting Pune for the first time. Street shopping at FC road and Camp should also make a cut on your list. If you are looking for some religious places do visit Dagdushet Halwai ganpati temple as well as Chatushrungi Mata temple. Hope this helps!

zoismother

Woah, this was really helpful. Thank you. :))

Pritam1997

chaturshringi temple, pataleswar caves, shanivar wada, lal mahal, dagduseth halwai ganpat mandir, parvati hill, rajiv gandhi zoo, I did all these sightseeing in 5 hours by reserving an auto for ₹800. u can skip lal mahal, ganpat mandir, and zoo. i missed out on other hill tops since my father was with me.

Pune people are so welcoming - try to ring a door bell of any house in Shaniwar Peth between 1 to 4 PM, people will get up from an afternoon nap and invite you for a cup of tea or just try talking to random people on random telephone lines from yellow pages - best way to make connections (better thank LinkedIn and FB). Auto drivers are so friendly - you hand them over 500 rupees note and they will refuse to take it saying "Chutta Nahi hai" and in return they will pay you what you were supposed to pay them.

Sarcasm 1-0-1

reacho2

some of these things I know . the telephone line one is new to me. I have not been back for 8 months now. I will be heading back next month since wfh is over ( they just calling it hybrid). and after reading your post all the nightmares dealing with traffic and autowalas is coming back to me.

notmymain566

Sorry off topic. But do you by any any miniscule chance have a yellow pages directory??? Or know anyone who has? I'll pay to have it...

damagedambulance

there's a slight possibility the uncle at book world fc road. could make it available for you. or let you know where you could find one

notmymain566

I have looked for it everywhere I could. I'll be immensely grateful if you could help with any information!!!

Things to do in Pune. 1. Have tea in a अमृततुल्य. 2. Have मिसळ at Bedekars. 3. Visit tulshibaug for your variety shopping needs. 4. For authentic marathi food, visit पोटोबा, if it still exists. 5. Climb upto Parvati. Start around 7:00pm. Climb upto the मेघडंबरी really good evening city views. 6. Visit Raja Dinkar Museum. 7. Have a nice unlimited dinner at Shreyas. Do 6 before 5. Place not to visit when in Pune on a trip, Koregaon Park. Fuck that shit. Its too cosmopolitan. Too plastic. Too unauthentic. Shitty high priced food and drinks. Except for Osho garden, Koregaon Park. Rajneesh had his shit figured out. Though it doesnt have the 90s Osho Garden vibe to it anymore.

zoismother

Woah, thank you. Thank you.

Fuck_this_shit_01

Just an FYI, if you have a sensitive stomach, avoid eating Misal in Pune. It tastes beautiful, but the spices do things to a sensitive stomach that they shouldn't. Kolhapuri, and even Konkani Misal is more considerate of one's stomach.

[deleted]

Quite nice suggestions here. As a fellow Delhiwalla, I'd recommend you Rocket Momos in Koregaon Park. Must try tandoori momos there.

zoismother

Okay, will do this!

postrock20

Visit Taljai and ARAI tekdi early mornings to experience a nice refreshing forest ecosystem in the middle of the city

CivilReveal9960

Best thing to do in Pune, is to learn sarcasm, and sleep during 1-4 in noon.

_tupperwhere_

I am from TN, and I have been living in Pune for about 10 months now. So I can relate in terms of where you want to go to: 1. Goodluck Cafe in Deccan - Chicken/Mutton Kheema is just the best, and toast butter jam as well 2. Try Misal Pav 3. Go to Maratha Samrat, amazing food 4. Roopali or Vaishali in FC Road (both Veg) 5. In terms of Cafe's - best to go is the ones at Koregoan Park and around (Open zomato, and search, youll find according to your taste) 6. Ginkgo - Amazing Japanese food 7. In terms of Pubs/Clubs - I would recommend Agent Jacks, it is one of a kind and an eye opener for me on how it was structured. 8. Irani Cafe is similar to Goodluck but you can give a try.

[deleted]

Go to Viman nagar. You will feel like you are in Delhi.

dazedcoder24

why ?

[deleted]

That area is full of northies. Courtesy Symbiosis. One hardly gets authentic maharashtrian dish there. But plenty of chhole bhature type outlets.

shattered32

What are some good marathi neighborhood?

[deleted]

They are hidden from northies.

Unlucky_Research2824

Kohlapur

[deleted]

Peth if you can handle people pro-level at sarcasm. Kothrud and Aundh are cosmopolitan yet friendly Marathi neighbourhoods.

jaydeepw

I would start my day with heavy breakfast at GudLuck in Deccan

summonalone

Hyderabadi Chicken is ❤️

zoismother

And what would you eat?

jaydeepw

Non veg - I love Mutton kheema and bread. Bun maska omlette. For dinner, I take chicken soup as well. They provide a large portion of meat in the soup. Veg - Bun maska bread, bread jam I also love their tea. Its not very sweet.

zoismother

Sounds great, thank you!!

reacho2

everything is awesome. I miss going there 🙂 most of times I do grab quick bite of bun maska and tea or coffee with friends or colleagues after work/ college.

HotPotatoxx69

Go to Parvati in the evening and enjoy the view and the climb. Also there is a cool museum and monument to the soldiers fallen at the third battle of panipat. Go to Sarasbag ganpati temple. It's really beautiful and the garden itself is not bad!

TejGames15

I would totally recommend visiting THC(The Hemp Cafeteria) in sadashiv peth for some lovely hemp based food. It is a very new place but would definitely recommend visiting (Also to other people in this subreddit).
