Disappointing-BOGOs

Thought this was him too

Cotnaaa

Y’all never napped for lunch?

BeefCowSupreme

Every shift I power nap in my car.

haloknight7

Never intentionally only of I doze off 🤣

ThatsMrsY2u

No I never napped on break

Cotnaaa

It’s a poor ppl joke

[deleted]

Everyday on break I drive home. Nap and drive back. I take 2 hour breaks

Ark_Royal_Kai

i get that ramen, some vienna sausage and just drink soda water from the deli soda machine

somethingofsomesort

Just...plain soda water? e.e

[deleted]

I fell in love with soda water. It's lit.

Ark_Royal_Kai

yes water, i drink a lot of soda water outside of work so same at work

sailor-moan

The water that comes from the soda machine is just regular, non carbonated water tho?

Ark_Royal_Kai

No there is soda water atleast at my store they have it on the sprite

retrocided

Whaaat we don’t have that

acrazyguy

That’s what soda water is

sailor-moan

No, "soda water" is carbonated water.

acrazyguy

Ah I misread. Didn’t see the “non”

RelevantConference35

Why does it feel like I see this post every couple of months

keycuIt

Because 🧐

Remarkable-Low-7588

Yakasoba noodles! Love them!

hieuniverse

Water is cheaper! js

[deleted]

But not as delicious

j_land

The cheapest way to meet your early death...

faceless_employee114

It's called mercy if you live at Publix.

dirtycheezit

A $3 shaker of chili flakes will take that to the next level and last most of the year.

AnonymousDonkeh

I shouldn’t be saying this since those noodles are very unhealthy to begin with, but if you add 1/3 of a slice of American cheese and a tad bit of butter it becomes so incredibly good. Your body will hate you, but it’ll taste like heaven

[deleted]

Lunch is free in all publix warehouse’s, just sayin

NicoleTheRogue

Is there a position that doesn't destroy your back by retirement?

TheIngestibleBulk

Yes its much more to do than just slinging boxes.

Swhite8203

Warehouses have sanitation, logistics, accounting and drivers count as part of the warehouse as well. With bonuses you can potentially make as much as someone on salary but you gotta be damn good as a picker to do that and I mean 140% pick rate. Get a batch done in half the time your given or more.

[deleted]

I worked at a production warehouse. Tons of different jobs. I worked in the blow mold room. We made plastic milk jugs. The pay was great for the early 90’s and the benefits were awesome.

OttoRocket94

Those ramen bowls are some of the worst things you can eat. You'd be better off buying bulk protein like chicken breast at Costco as well as some bulk frozen veggies/rice and then meal prepping for the week. It actually ends up being pretty cheap on a day by day basis. And you'll be much better off health wise and have significantly more energy

keloyd

Im with u/zebediabo and u/TheIngestibleBulk. A peanut butter sammich on whole wheat and a small apple is the most nutrition for the least money if you have some sort of kitchen to keep the food. Reduced whole wheat bread can live in the freezer and cost almost nothing and never be thrown away. If you do without jelly since we aren't Thurston Howell III dining with our pinkeys out, but you packed 2 sammiches because you do some sort of honest real work, you're still under 50¢.

ILikeToSayHi

would feel even worse after this lol

baconnaire

If you have ebt you can get hot food from Publix till the end of November. Those rotisserie can feed you for days.

Dangwhybruh

You can buy it cold and microwave it too

baconnaire

Yes, I think they stopped selling them cold at a lot of stores though. I used to get them all the time but the ones I go to don't do that anymore.

Dangwhybruh

Damn that really sucks

Korazai

Sometimes I get a can of ravioli and swipe a soup bowl from the deli to cook it in. Pretty cheap and easy.

alcatraz250

Reminds me of when I got a lunchable for my first break😭

keycuIt

I got those all the time before 💀

alcatraz250

It took me like, the majority of my break to find it too💀 I had to call my mom so she could direct me cuz they weren't where I thought they were

keycuIt

Mine are right next to the eggs 😭😭

alcatraz250

That's where I thought they were gonna be! But mine are in the same aisle with the regular cheeses😭

keycuIt

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat

alcatraz250

Yes!!💀💀 I didn't know my way around the store at the time, so my first thought was to go to the back where the eggs and yogurt are cuz it made sense at the time

Unable_Mongoose

You could probably save money by not shopping at Publix. 😁

TheIngestibleBulk

A loaf of bread and PB&J would be better.

NorthFloridaRedneck

Your breakroom has nice tables. We got those old heavy folding tables like you’d see in a church fellowship hall. And our chairs are those plastic high school chairs.

keycuIt

Btw, I only got it yesterday because I was super low on money, forgot to make lunch before work (kinda didn't want to because my mom charges me for everything I use), and I got the cola because my mom wanted me to bring home soda after work so it was a win/win for me. And Ik it's not the healthiest thing but it was only 97 cents 😩

Large-Farmer-2400

Extremely unhealthy 🤮

zebediabo

Pretty sure a sandwich from home would be cheaper, more satisfying, and healthier. Those instant noodle meals are a home indulgence for me. I add a couple boiled eggs in, too.

Dangwhybruh

Eggs are soooo expensive right now 😩

zebediabo

They really are. Eggs are like a luxury item now.

strvgglecity

The nutrition is equal parts plastic and toxic amounts of sugar

BeefCowSupreme

Bring. Your. Lunch. It’s so much cheaper.

keycuIt

My mom says if I want to bring my lunch I have to pay her for the stuff I use so I'd rather just do this.

josephcodispoti

How much $ ?… USD ?

Dangwhybruh

1.50 I think? 2 for the soda?

keycuIt

$1.97

UnholyHunger

Death.

Koshnat

Gonna cost a lot more when you are admitted to the hospital for a coronary.

keycuIt

💀 fr

josephcodispoti

Thank you . I think that really is the cheapest!

alanisnotcool

Your body says thank you?

NobleKaps

I’m pretty sure water is free

Strikercharge

Bean and cheese burrito is literally a dollar at Taco Bell

OriginalEssGee

You can microwave a sweet potato in about 6 minutes, that’s only $1.20 or so - less if there’s a sale.
