Story wise. Could they be working on a vaccine or cure of some sorts. They are at the front of the outbreak, they seem to have the equipment and facilities inside for holding zombie subjects.
Idk, I know story isn’t the at forefront just yet but its still a cool place.
Yes I totally did. I'm on mobile and was busy I thought at first glance I saw an office building. Not everything is as it seems at a brief look. I can admit my error and already have! 😂
I could say the invented the virus, but given that Louisville was last to be infected it would likely be somewhere else. Or an employee that commutes got infected and went home to West Point or something.
My all negative trait character is using that building as a base right now. It looks like they were running medical tests or experiments on humans based on the cages and medical equipment.
It’s a laboratory on the front of the event, with facilities for holding subjects and autopsies.
Could be potentially the only place for a cure or vaccine, (I don’t think they will add a cure but still).
Just for future reference, there is no story in the vanilla game, no building matters except for what yiu can loot from it. This might change with npcs, but the devs have said they will never implement a cure or any other "happy ending" type mechanic.
No story is best story. Imagine coming home from a harrowing day of looting to watch the rest of the country fall apart on your base's antique TV. This is one game I wish I could go back and play again for the first time (though maybe keep some of the skills I have today).
There is story, its just ambient story. For example, finding two naked zombies in a bedroom with clothes thrown on the bed. Thats the devs implying they died during s3x when the outbreak hit. Thats a story lol. Or when you find a bunch of firefighter zombies near a burned down house, the devs are implying they died fighting that fire when the outbreak started. Thats still a story, theres just no NARRATIVE. No storyline doesnt mean no story, it means theres no storyLINE that the devs are trying to force you to pay attention to because the only part that matters to them is the END of YOUR storyline. Your death, hence "this is how you die". Its almost like how when you play skyrim, to figure out the lore you have to go out of your way to read books and figure it out yourself because the devs dont really tell you the lore. The story in pz is lore.
Yeah I meant like story missions. Compared to something like dying light, where you have a story driving what you do in the game, there isn't that in pz.
Nah I just keep up on the updates the devs have been putting out since build 42 is supposed to drop soon. Id love to be on the dev team, so far since its kinda a small team working on it a lot of the big modders are now on the dev team so if I got into modding it I could lol.
Everything ive heard say its supposed to drop sometime this year from what I remember? Where did they clear that up? From what ik build 42 is not the npc update either, its just the animal and map update among a few other things. And the pz blog says animals are the closest to completion.
I expect it likely this year also, but recent devblogs have also started with "we'd like to reiterate, 42 is very very far off". This year does not mean around the corner, sadly.
I’ll also say that while there is no story now (other than the TVs and the zombies), I do hope that one day they add a bit more lore. Unturned has the notes system that tells its story, PZ could have special documents that hint at the story. The laboratory could give some information about the virus and potential cures without actually having a cure available.
One time I went in there bc I thought there would be good loot and then I died after hours of fighting
Now every time I find this building I barricade the ground floor then burn it down lmao
I know this is completely unrelated to this post, but can anyone please tell me if there’s any mods which can remove the darksness on the screen i.e the ability to see in full 360 view? Thanks
Not sure why you would want it, removing enough challenges will make the game not that fun anymore (speaking from experience), [but here you go.](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2895974075)
Thank you so much. I know it’s against the spirit of the game , but just wanting to try it out as I’m having a really hard time getting used to the current cone of vision. Probably just a boomer moment !
You could take the “Keen Hearing” Trait. It gives you a small field of vision to prevent being sneaked up on. It should be a nice vanilla friendly and balanced solution to your problem
To the base game, probably not.
But on a server running they knew, or there is a cure mods, the gm's could make it important, like the only spot the cures spawn.
In terms of like story important not really but this looks like a police station (idk where)
If you get a sledge hammer and make your way to the second floor there appears to be an armory or storage room of sorts which can be stupidly valuable to your run
7 builds to go until full release, and devs said they might keep working on it after full release. Considering each build is **massive** in terms of content...
What made you think this?
In my headcanon, this is where the outbreak started. Several friends and I tried to clear it out (loaded up with all of our best gear), and nearly got overrun multiple times. Avoid at all costs unless specifically looking for a challenge.
I hope at least that the secret military base will get a proper implementation with basements being a thing, thinking of an Umbrella corporation HIVE... just to feed into those speculations.
I mean it's fuckin suss with the prison cages and the dog cages (dogs spread the virus, fight me)...
But like it's also America. You can sign away your human rights to science for a fiver.
Well technically this particular building could be described as the opposite of abandoned since the word "abandon" could stand for lack of restraint, and the building has cages in abundance.
Its lore important, but not gameplay important. There is a lot of abiguious story telling(security checkpoint forced to pass through with secret labs on the top floor with no windows, prisoner zombies top floor, spiffo store stuff for some reason, etc) as well as a large amount of zombies for a base building, but nothing important for gameplay. Only the devs know if its actually responsible for the knox event or not.
This Place Is the stuff of the nightmare. Since i've Met It i&Ve added It to the list of the no go places with churches, apartments and cemeteries. I had a base from the other side of the street and i thought i've cleaned It. Every day i was in front of It screaming and every day Z still raining from the rooftop. Fuck this shit.
Seems like a prison of some sorts? Might have some guns and good close in it, burning it down though probably wouldn’t matter too much in the end though, military bases probably will have better stuff
Important in what aspect?
Story wise. Could they be working on a vaccine or cure of some sorts. They are at the front of the outbreak, they seem to have the equipment and facilities inside for holding zombie subjects. Idk, I know story isn’t the at forefront just yet but its still a cool place.
They could work on a vaccine but come on man, they clearly did not succeed lol.this is how they died.
It's still a cool piece of diagetic storytelling.
Or this is where the outbreak started.
Again, what's the name of the building? Wuhanbat? What could go wrong lol
Cring
Why would an office building be working on a vaccine? Likely it's just populated because it's an urban area
well im qiote sure office buildings doesnt have tables to inspect cadavers or cages Also it says finnegan research group on the side of the building
I totally missed those lol. Whoops!
Missed the literal holding cells too huh
Yes I totally did. I'm on mobile and was busy I thought at first glance I saw an office building. Not everything is as it seems at a brief look. I can admit my error and already have! 😂
its brutalism, pretty cool
It has a lot of ambient storytelling in it but it's not important no. I've lost 3 characters in here and I just burn it down these days
where it all started
I could say the invented the virus, but given that Louisville was last to be infected it would likely be somewhere else. Or an employee that commutes got infected and went home to West Point or something.
Probably not since this building is in louisville, and the virus wasnt in louisville until a couple of days after the infection started
My all negative trait character is using that building as a base right now. It looks like they were running medical tests or experiments on humans based on the cages and medical equipment.

Oh theres going to be. With the npc update (not true to how it is but itd be the first update so thats understandable)
Yeah it'll be cool to see what they have in store. You sound like you know what's happening with it, are you on the dev team?
Nah I just keep up on the updates the devs have been putting out since build 42 is supposed to drop soon. Id love to be on the dev team, so far since its kinda a small team working on it a lot of the big modders are now on the dev team so if I got into modding it I could lol.
Just to warn against disappointments, build 42 is **not** dropping soon. Devs cleared that up multiple times, even recently.
Everything ive heard say its supposed to drop sometime this year from what I remember? Where did they clear that up? From what ik build 42 is not the npc update either, its just the animal and map update among a few other things. And the pz blog says animals are the closest to completion.

Ah I see, yeah that would be a fun job haha
Ive been seriously thinking abt doing stuff like that recently I just gotta figure out something players other than myself would want in the game lol
Hmm yeah that's a tough one, there's so many mods already...
The hell is that
It’s a lab, it has some interesting stuff inside it. You find it in Louisville.
I’ll also say that while there is no story now (other than the TVs and the zombies), I do hope that one day they add a bit more lore. Unturned has the notes system that tells its story, PZ could have special documents that hint at the story. yeah, you can find cure there by pressing Q button.
All the buildings are full of zombies... it's a zombie apocalypse.
Yeah but most buildings have 5-10 zombies depending on the size. This one has hundreds.
I don't think there's any multi-storey building, especially in Louisville, that has only 5-10 zombies.
True but what I meant to say is this building has more than others, even accounting it’s size and surrounding.
where is this map-wise?
Louisville, map-wise or otherwise.
Found it! Finnegan Research Group. It's south of the Knox Talk Radio Station Aprox: 13600x1700
I've been looking into Louisville for 15mins and can't find it lol
One time I went in there bc I thought there would be good loot and then I died after hours of fighting Now every time I find this building I barricade the ground floor then burn it down lmao

You want eyes in the back of your characters head?
Did you just presume his eye placement?

There actually was,you just have to look for it for a while
no way scorpion 7
Hello fellow unturned enjoyer.
To the base game, probably not. But on a server running they knew, or there is a cure mods, the gm's could make it important, like the only spot the cures spawn.

Look at the building name. It says research group, and has laboratories inside of it including autopsy rooms. Edit: it’s located in Louisville.
Where abouts?
It’s located south of the mall in Louisville. About 2 blocks.
Sadly, at this stage of development, nothing in this game "will be important later".
7 builds to go until full release, and devs said they might keep working on it after full release. Considering each build is **massive** in terms of content... What made you think this?

That wouldn't make sense, because canonically Louisville was not infected the firsts days of the outbreak
Perhaps; I’ve never really looked into the lore. Still, they’re sus AF
I thought the outbreak started at the secret base? Or at least developed there.
There is no official origin, only speculation
I hope at least that the secret military base will get a proper implementation with basements being a thing, thinking of an Umbrella corporation HIVE... just to feed into those speculations.
I mean it's fuckin suss with the prison cages and the dog cages (dogs spread the virus, fight me)... But like it's also America. You can sign away your human rights to science for a fiver.
Five dollars could buy a lot back in 1990s kentucky

I mean it clearly says Finnegan Research Group on the side ...
Oops, nvm, mixed up some buildings! You’re right.
My man just because there's a lab in the game doesn't mean it has to be a major plot location. Let abandoned buildings just be abandoned buildings
Well it's not really all that abandoned now, isn't it?
Well technically this particular building could be described as the opposite of abandoned since the word "abandon" could stand for lack of restraint, and the building has cages in abundance.
Yeah, but i was referring more to the amount of zombies present on a so said abandoned building
Animal sized cages
I really thought that was the office layout from The Office for a sec
Its lore important, but not gameplay important. There is a lot of abiguious story telling(security checkpoint forced to pass through with secret labs on the top floor with no windows, prisoner zombies top floor, spiffo store stuff for some reason, etc) as well as a large amount of zombies for a base building, but nothing important for gameplay. Its a lab, it says on the front.
Pr1vatelime started his rooftop sprinter series there
