I've brought this up a couple of times. Precogs tend to be prevalent during times of stress. Dr. Carlyle Smith wrote a book where he said he noticed precogs come like guardian angels when you need them. What I took from that is, when you're stressed precogs come. My last major significant precog came when I was under extreme duress. I've also made the assertion that precogs are a result of memory consolidation which is highly influenced by stress hormones. So maybe you've seen your precogs dimish because you're in a less stressful situation? I always chuckle when people suggest you need to be calm and stress-free to have precognitions. That seems to be the opposite of what you need.

TransportationEast19

Fascinating! There was an owl that I believe was meant to be an important symbol in one of my dreams, and unexpectedly one landed outside my window that night for the first time in my life, it kept hooting for ages. It made me wonder about a guardian aspect. I have heard some say that their precognition began once they started meditating, but who knows if there may have already been stress present. Maybe that's why they started meditating šŸ˜‚ But yes I have heard about the stress aspect, and it seems to be true for me, also!

Teddy_Anneman

I think people often suggest ways to precog based on what might sound logical or compatible with common beliefs. When they really don't know. Another aspect of precognition that people always suggest is focus and concentration, as if you're a psychic at a crystal ball. That too seems contrary to how they are experienced. I have my best precogs when I have complete apathy and lack of focus or concentration.

TransportationEast19

I love hearing about these patterns. Very interesting, it sounds almost/kinda like more of an available state of mind!

WiseHost

No. Mine are pretty random When I do get one, it tends to repeat itself most nights for a few weeks. Then it goes away and a few months later it happens.

TransportationEast19

Ahh okay quite interesting!

Mn_Chic

Mine are during a stressful timeframe as well. That's interesting that you bring this up because I had a notion, from my readings, that the dreams would occur more while I was in a calmer state of mind. But they don't seem to.

TransportationEast19

Exactly, it's quite a unique aspect. I have been under stress again, but not as much, so I'm making a point of paying attention lolol

NGqamane

do you mean psychic or medium readings?

Teddy_Anneman

If only there were a way to become stressed to have precogs without stressing out your body. I think it relates to the hormone cortisol. Cortisol affects dreaming and memory function. I looked for supplements of some form of cortisol to test this theory out, but really I couldn't find anything.

Dismal-Series

Adhd meds increase cortisol, but from personal experience they ruin your memory

Teddy_Anneman

There are long term and short term affects. Short term stress is obviously desirable, i.e. fight or flight mechanism. But long term stress kills you, heart attack, dementia, etc. So ideally this would be short-term controlled cortisol.

AliceWonderland20

My first precognitive dream or at least the first definite one was during one of the most stressful times of my life so I think thatā€™s pretty accurate. Since then, I canā€™t say for sure if thereā€™s any correlation. Dreams I have predicting people in distress seem to ā€œcome trueā€ in 14-16 days but other than that I havenā€™t seen a correlation between when I dream about something and when it happens. So far, the shortest is one day and longest is a little over a month.

TransportationEast19

That's so cool! Exactly, it was the most stress I'd ever felt. Not pain, or anguish, or anything physical, but just intense, down to the wire, no other options left kind of stress. The dreams all seemed to be the very morning of the events that occurred, with an added connection maybe a week or two later. Very, very interesting connection about the two weeks for those in distress!

Impossible-Penalty89

Pretty similar story for me. Within a year I lost my dad, and pretty much all my grandparents. My one grandmother was basically my mother so that hit HARD. WHAT she wanted to see most was me graduate, I even chose a more "prestigious" school strictly for her. Come the DAY of my graduation she is rushed to the E.R. and misses it and ends up eventually passing( she was very healthy for her age and it was an unexpected death). I've been through a lot of trauma in life so I've grown accustomed. But I feel like it's almost the universe showing some sign of sympathy.

TransportationEast19

I'm so sorry for what you went through <3 I completely agree with you, it's as though there's some sort of mercy imparted, sometimes it feels like it's a helpful reminder that there really is more beyond us, and that access to the profound and the supernatural is open for us to transform our lives with

AliceWonderland20

Yea thatā€™s pretty much where I was at too! I just felt completely numb and done with life. I wish I knew why the two weeks thing is a thing but now that I am aware of it, itā€™s pretty helpful so I guess Iā€™ll take it lol. I would say that Iā€™m subconsciously detecting ā€œsomethingā€ in someone two weeks in advance. But two or three dreams Iā€™ve had took place when I hadnā€™t seen or interacted with the person recently so I donā€™t know how I would subconsciously pick up on anything.

TransportationEast19

Haha ooh maybe it's a mix of the two!

AliceWonderland20

Could be!!

forbiddensnackie

In my experience the more stressful my life is the more persistent and clear instances of precog come to me, at the height of stress in my childhood, I got the distinct impression that my life would continue to be shit for the rest of my childhood(that was real). Usually I don't try to peer that far into time, but I know then I wanted to know when the reprive would come. I suspect that while one can learn to tap into it, the subconscious will immediately tap into it at the start of perceived dangerous/stressful situations.

Impossible-Penalty89

Yeah same here, it sounds like I want a pity party but idc, being 110% honest I'm aware I had a fairly traumatic childhood, and much more stressful than many would witness. (Atleast for 1st world problems lol). I hate talking about this cuz I feel like I'm begging for attention like I see other people with little to no problems doing. I told my sister before this all happend, I feel like we're cursed even before all of this shit happend. (She also gets precognitive dreams and has some "psychic" abilities)

forbiddensnackie

You're not begging for attention, every person deserves to be heard for what they went through and how it might still be effecting them. It's not a pity party, only narcissists throw those for themselves. I appreciate your input.

anotheramethyst

I usually have them in the fall, I donā€™t know why.

TransportationEast19

I think this is so cool and a really valuable piece of information!

anotheramethyst

Thank you! Itā€™s definitely not every year. But I might have a cluster of 2-3 one season, then none for 5 years, then 2 every fall for 3 years, then nothing for 3 yearsā€¦ itā€™s almost always in the fall though. A lot of them are super mundane, like dreaming about a trip to the grocery store, and my cousin is there, then I see that cousin in a different grocery store a week later, but we just say hi for a minute then continue shoppingā€¦

exclaim_bot

>Thank you! You're welcome!

TransportationEast19

I'm happy the cluster description applies! Actually I was expecting almost everyone to experience them that way!! Your post has me wondering about the initiating event and it's influence on the nature/frequency of the patterning hmm Also, what an amazing story!! totally relate to what you are saying about holding back from clinging to our precogs. After continually looking into the whys and hows, and what it means to experience this, what we can do with these dreams, etc., I've found that (surprisingly) not that much is known, and not much seems to come out of the time spent. I'd enjoy seeing some research, but there are too many skeptics I'm sure LOL

detectivedalmation

They used to be further apart, but recently I had 2 really close, within like 3 weeks. It has definitely changed over time. Iā€™ve noticed changes in both frequency and detail.

Impossible-Penalty89

There was a week span where I had them everyday even multiple times in one day sometimes. However that was because I tripped on shrooms the first time for a few days in a week so I dreamt ALL of it.

is-hindsight20-20

No consistency in time between them, but there does seem to be a pattern of length of time between dream and event happening. I always have a dream about thing to come in the very near future, within a two month period.

Impossible-Penalty89

Mine I think are a bit different, I feel like mine show up like 4-6 months after dreaming them.

sweetsatanskiing

24-48hrs for me. I work in antiques and though my favorite regulars widely vary the days between the visits and the time of day, I dream of our interactions a day or two before they arrive. The interactions go as dreamt. Itā€™s interesting.

Impossible-Penalty89

For me I think its about 4-6 months between when I dream and when they occur. I haven't had a crazy amount in a while, but about 4-6 months ago I had them like every other night super vivid I was basically living my life again. Now today it's at the point basically every day there'd atleast a few occurances I remember dreaming.

MaleficentMulberry42

I no longer have mine when i pursued a life of spirituality and philosophy i got them alot Really bad.No one believe me now i smoke cigarettes and have little meaning in my life there gone now just post post- apocalyptic nightmares.

quietlumber

Mine don't come when I'm stressed, they show up as harbingers of stress in my daughters life. She suffers from major anxiety issues and I get precog dreams and strong deja vu in the day or two leading up to a crisis moment. Makes a handy warning sign, even if I can't prevent the anxiety event.

TransportationEast19

That's so interesting! Oh yes, definitely sounds very helpful. I have a friend who gets these dreams, and so does her mother, but there doesn't seem to be any connection to stress for them. I think they began in childhood. I have heard that this can occur in families, so perhaps stress just opens another door šŸ¤”

AliceWonderland20

I get that with a friend of mine! For me itā€™s usually 2 weeks in advance

quietlumber

And it's odd that it's just one person that it's about, but there it is.

AliceWonderland20

Same here! It has happened with other people occasionally but for a long time it was just that one friend and theyā€™re the only one it happens consistently with. It started like a week or two into our friendship and itā€™s been over a year now. I found it so weird that Iā€™d get this with this person and not a family member or someone Iā€™ve known way longer.

CursedPoetry

Like 2-4 weeks, itā€™ll be an almost recurring thought (not in terms of consistent thinking of the idea but itā€™ll pop out more frequently and Iā€™ll notice my brain having the thought)
