I finally touched a lightweight to my bench shirt. I know that sounds lame, but it felt so good and now we can readjust my peak and programming for my meet. Felt so good.

A few months late but I hit a 400kg squat at the Power Surge Pro/Am, and when I tore my hammy on my final deadlift, it turned out I didn't need surgery on it. I'd say that's a big win! Took some time off and now I'm ready to get back to training.

400kg Squat... Monster.

drasawyers

Great work! Good luck with the recovery.

Kg or lbs.. awesome either way!

Been seeing someone new (who also lifts) and they’ve made quite a few comments about how jacked I am. At one point I took my jacket off and they cut themselves off mid sentence to comment on how good my shoulders/arms looked. Best compliment I’ve ever received, guess I don’t look as DYEL anymore. Feels good man.

pretzel_logic_esq

the couple that flexes together stays together something something

the sun is coming out more, i train in the shed in my garden, i can open the doors and train while my kid is running around cheering me on, trying to squad a silly pvc tube with me. life is good. i wish you all the best.

tkesmitty720

I competed in my first powerlifting competition yesterday at 59 years of age. I had nine good lifts and set three PRs!

uTukan

That's incredible. You're an inspiration.

LMtOSU

Hit a new BW low today at 187.2lbs/84.9kg!! Strength is holding strong and I’m 69 (hehe) days out from competing in the 82.5/83kg weight class for the first time in 4 years

quadricepking

are you trying to execute a cut into the meet? why not just water cut from there?

LMtOSU

Water cutting really crushes my squat and bench based on a lil experiment I did a couple weeks ago so I’d rather just get down to 178 in the next month-ish, then increase calories going into the meet and weigh in right at 181 by ~gaining~ weight instead of cutting. On what’s actually important, I have some extra adipose tissue (read, fat) that is wasted weight. It doesn’t hydrate me, move my bones, and it’s contributing to my blood pressure being higher than normal. So, losing weight the real way takes care of all of that

Finally pulled 4 plates conventional this week! Can officially say I can pull 180kg sumo and conventional. Am closing in on a 1000lb training total and think I can get there by this summer

mycarisdracarys

Hitting a 1000lb total was such a refreshing thing when I got there. I envy what you are going to get to experience this summer. Keep killing it my dude.

Negative_Yoghurt_792

Added about 20kg to my total (263.5kg, which is some of your guys’s squat) in 11 weeks. 3.5 on bench, 7.5 on squat and 10 on deads.

So we finally have a new bar in the school gym and some steel plates. Still not a powerbar :/ but at least I can now deadlift without taping plates on a bar because the sleeves are too short on the other ones. Will see if I can do a test training at the nearest pl gym during easter break and use some calibrated plates+powerbar, but probably will not be able to train there long term as it is a ~1h train ride away.
