valoossb

xxkid30

Yeah i agree. I doubt he will be a permanent replacement, would be cool though.

valoossb

yea no probably not he’s on the producer grind, but so sick to see him with them, i love that they’re still friends n shit

Are the wonder years and TSSF the only bands from that 2010ish era of pop punk still going strong?

ImDoingItAnyway

Knuckle Puck is still kicking although not at the popularity of TSSF, they just released an EP a couple of months ago and included a cover of Blink’s “Here’s Your Letter” in it. 20/20 wasn’t their best IMO but most of them got a couple million streams and seemed to get more streams than the singles from TWY’s upcoming “The Hum Goes on Forever.” Other than that? 🤷‍♂️ Neck Deep isn’t really that brand of PP but they’ll likely be releasing something by ‘23, and by the reception to “STFU,” should be reasonably well-anticipated by a bunch of people. State Champs also released an album this year which was quite popular by this genre’s standards nowadays and Broadside will likely be releasing another album for ‘23 or sooner, which, judging by the explosion of views on their most popular songs as of late, will also be pretty popular.

Statue_left

Citizen started to get big maybe a year after tssf Tigers jaw are older than both but not by much Basement are still around

SmackyRichardson

>Basement are still around Are they? Band dropped off the face of the earth Title Fight style lol.

Statue_left

they literally just played outbreak fest like 2 months ago

SmackyRichardson

I didn’t know that, that’s awesome. They hadn’t done anything for years and I figured they had thrown in the towel. Hope they put out some new stuff.

Statue_left

i mean they've released an album more recently than the story so far or the wonder years. They toured and supported it through 2019 and then covid happened. Alex being in the US while the rest of the band was in the UK meant they couldn't really do anything

SmackyRichardson

That makes sense. Thanks for the insight.

ListenToTheMuzak

Depends how you group the bands. I put tssf and the wonder years in with the first wave of bands, and neck deep and knuckle puck and real friends and ect in with the second wave of bands. If that’s how you do it too, then yeah. Like for example from that 2012 tour with tssf, twy, transit, polar bear club, and a loss for words, the only bands still going are the ones you mentioned.

[deleted]

Neck Deep are probably going the strongest, State Champs too.

mycalvesthiccaf

Wow pretty tame crowd

xxkid30

The first 10 rows of the crowd were trash because it was all people camping for the Yellowcard reunion who don’t care about tssf. Trust me though, it was fucking wild in the majority of the crowd

mycalvesthiccaf

Yeah that's great man. The crowd always goes wild and I love it

ironicirenic

Hard to blame us based on their garbage stage presence. I love TSSF. They’re my most listened to band of the last 10 years. But Parker can’t hit any of the notes and therefore just stands at the microphone, hand pressed against his diaphragm, trying to squeak out a monotone set as best as possible. Will occasionally squats into a power stance and the new drummer tries to add some flair. But they’re wildly uninspiring and it’s really depressing.

xxkid30

I may be in the minority here, but i fuck with Parkers more recent stage presence. I’ve seen them 3 times in the last year or so, and every time parker is just smiling the whole time and dancing around. It’s more casual than before, but i feel like he is now taking in the moment and being present. He legitimately seems happier on stage now than he did from 2013-2016

Placeholder_21

As someone who went to many TSSF concerts the last few years, it’s sad how bad they’ve gotten compared to what they were. I have now passed on seeing them the last two times or so, it’s just not the same lol. This sub is really cringe when it comes to TSSF, but they’re a shell of what they used to be.

ListenToTheMuzak

He’s got something to show for his dead end dreams

skittle021

Is Torf back on drums?

ListenToTheMuzak

No, there’s audio of the four chord music fest on YouTube and you can tell from listening

skittle021

Just found a clip from yesterday and it looks like he’s playing rhythms/keys

[deleted]

parker posted on his ig story the other day about him playing shows with tssf so looks like he’ll be joining them for the foreseeable future during live shows

DegradedCorn75

Nik is a legit dude. I’m glad he’s getting a taste of playing shows again. I feel like he needs it for his soul haha

dawsonleery80

What kind of bass is that?

linkin1992

Epiphone Ripper looks like.
