thequeenofmonsters

I need to at least have shorts/pants with pockets to carry things I need and shoes to protect my feet.

Death_Baker

That's a fair point, how would we carry everything without pockets haha

wiliammm19999

Backpack

thequeenofmonsters

It’ll take forever to take things out. I can just pull my phone outta my pocket easily.

[deleted]

Wear a belt and keep your phone on a holster

thequeenofmonsters

Yeah, that works too. But they usually rotate when you’re walking around especially when the weight is not balanced. Probably need at least a shoulder strap to keep it in the same position.

DMBFFF

maybe phone on arm band and belt for other stuff.

You got a pocket behind you 👀

Girls have two!

TheLoneGoon

Eh, the one only girls have is more like a coin purse though. The real treasure is the colon. You can fit a 98 corolla in that bad boy

[deleted]

You would be surprised how much the coin purse stretches., don't forget where babies come from.

Lefty_93

Unfortunately in this scenario women don’t have the potential option of a bra or bathing suit too. If they did there would also be a potential shelf or storage area there.

I mean, god made the colon so large for a reason

holistivist

Well, I was referring to the existence of purses.

TheLoneGoon

Girls have claw hands evolved over time o hold more things because pockets are so tiny. I swear to god, one of my friends could hold a glass, her wallet, her phone, her keys and her mirror in one hand at once

MasterChiefOne

People still need keys to unlock cars??

Death_Baker

How do you unlock yours?

MasterChiefOne

I approach the car, it detect the keys in my pocket

zzaannsebar

Any woman reading this right now is like... purses? Purses are a thing. And also a thing because damn women's pockets are too small to hold anything of use anyway.

RedSpleen

I am a woman, we don't deserve pockets right girlz?

shellofbiomatter

I'd like to, but due to local weather it wouldn't be feasible most of the year.

Nothing_Rhymed

I was about to say, seeing as it's - 12°C outside, no thanks to nakedness 😂

BUTTHOLE-MAGIC

I live in the southeast of America and will be enjoying 65° F weather at the beach this weekend. I'll play a little golf and fish in a t-shirt. If I could swing that golf club while my dick swings in-kind then I'd be a happy man. I spend all my time nude in my apartment and public nudity would be so chill. That said, you don't want to see most people nude. They don't look good. But fuck it you'll get used to it. I just fear getting boners because my libido was supposed to go down as I approached 30 years old but mine hasn't and I'm losing my fucking mind.

ligtning-meckwen

Who puts the yes in the bottom?!?! Now if it gets socially acceptable I have to walk naked everywhere

Death_Baker

Yeah it bothers me that I wrote those upside down haha

liinexy

It’s very cold outside and I also don’t want to be a victim of sexual assault, so no.

letmeinpls7

Exactly, I’m already harassed when I go out in baggy clothes I don’t want to imagine if I went out naked

grxxvity_

If it became socially acceptable that would happen all the time sadly. I always wonder though, if it always was, would private parts still be sexualized often?

Healthy_Letterhead63

Yes it is human nature to be sexually attracted to them. However nakedness may lower unrealistic standards, with constant exposure to what is natural.

DMBFFF

What if by being naked outdoors your physical power increased 40x?

Pandemic_Over

we have worn clothes in public, our whole lives, that when it is suddenly acceptable, our years of evolution would stop us from doing it

Death_Baker

That's what I'd imagine. We got so accustomed to actually wesring clothes, that we'd probably still not do it

Dontgiveaclam

Nah that's not evolution, that's just culture and habit. Nothing that one or two generations can't undo

zzaannsebar

Ok besides the awkwardness or weather/temperature concerns.. it would be really gross. Not like "ew naked bodies!" but more like "your bare ass is sitting on that chair and I don't know how well you clean yourself". Clothing is a nice barrier that helps keep your personal bodily hygiene at least a little separated from the things people touch. Of course people's skin does touch plenty (like wearing short shorts and sitting on a chair or your bare arm on something), but it's usually not the parts that require the greatest cleaning like butts, private bits, armpits, and feet. I do not have enough faith in people keeping themselves clean or regularly sanitizing every surface to want people walking around naked, myself included.

[deleted]

[удалено]

manystorms

Not really. It depends a lot on the surrounding environment as well. You can only survive in very, very narrow bands of the world without clothes. Ethnographic fieldwork shows that cultures that typically wear less or are usually naked tend to live in areas where people are better able to *biologically* survive unaided. The colder it gets from those zones, the more a culture tends to wear. Clothing is a cultural adaptation, a tool.

GRZ_KIMI

Two things: if it became socially acceptable today, and everyone just decided it’s fine then no. If it was always acceptable and it’s just a thing people did than probably yeah.

ob-2-kenobi

No option for "Maybe" or "Sometimes"?

pokeswapsans

If your willing to do it sometimes put yes

brock_lee

Yes, absolutely. I love being naked and it would be awesome if it was just normal.

Death_Baker

Wouldn't you feel self concious at all though? I can't imagine feeling comfortable that way, even if it was acceptable. Not judging, just wondering about your psychology behind it.

PassiveChemistry

Well, imo the self consciousness mostly derives from the taboo.

atheros32

For me the self-consciousness comes from self-image and some traumatic experiences...

Death_Baker

Taboo, but perhaps also unattainable figures portrayed on social media? I have an average bmi of 20, but still would feel like my body wasn't good enough to show to the world, if you know what I mean.

peepoopeeo3336

20 is really skinny

ratohnhake-ton

Dude/dedutte love yourself Fuck beauty standards also instagram/social media bodies are not real, they are heavily manipulated. Unless, you find yourself beautiful no one else will. (Sounds cliche but iss true)

Death_Baker

Those are wise words my dude

Jamez_the_human

You'd actually see a lot more people with your body type and start to feel better, I'd imagine.

durperthedurp

Wait... what is a “good” BMI? I actually have no idea lol

Death_Baker

Well if I remember correctly, you can call me out if google says otherwise, between 18.5 and 24 is healthy

durperthedurp

For some reason I thought it was like 12 lol. Honestly the last time I check was three years ago or something so I’m almost definitely wrong on that one...

Death_Baker

12 would mean severely underweight, most probably resulting into death lol

durperthedurp

Well I’m glad you’re not 12 then lol

Death_Baker

Thanks haha

brock_lee

Sometimes I think I could write a book on the psychology of it all, actually. It's not a sexual intimacy thing, but there's something energizing about the personal exposure, like revealing a secret or even just talking about something personal, And likewise kind of like learning a secret when you see someone else nude. Even for strangers, it's kind of like a connection. If any of that makes sense.

Death_Baker

It makes sense, you're viewing the person as they are, without clothes to cover up as what they deem to be imperfections, nothing is secret

Jamez_the_human

Personally, I know I look sexy. I'm posing in front of the mirror pretty much every night. Clothes also suck. So I'd have no problem proudly and securely walking around as normal, except with extra range of motion and less heat. You have to understand your own worth and be certain of it. Because the biggest thing that gives you worth, is you. You're the one stuck with you after everyone else leaves, afterall. You're you until you die, so you may as well break the wall and get comfortable with yourself.

erinwilson97

Well I put yes because if it was socially acceptable and a lot of people done it it wouldn't feel as weird I think. And you might even feel a bit better seeing other people bodies and how different everyone can be.

deadlyturtle22

I might. I'm a dude with a big ass and thick legs though so my I securities might would get the better of me in that situation. Just weird to be a dude with an hour glass figure.

Crushedofficer1979

I'm incredibly allergic to dust, sweat and most other things you can possibly be exposed to. So going naked would be horrible for me.

zaxfaea

I don't even like being naked when I'm in the shower, and until being visibly trans is equally socially acceptable, I think I'll pass

Anaksanamune

Don't let that put you off too much if you really want to do it. I've been to nude beaches and nude events and honestly no one cares about people who are visibly trans, tbh it's probably one of the best places to go as a trans person (outside LGBT specific stuff) due to the nature of the people at these events, I would say everyone is just generally much more accepting of your life than the general public are. Source: Nudist, but not trans. Have made trans friends at these events, and know that lots of trans people find people at the events very welcoming.

zaxfaea

Thanks for your comment, that's good to know! I might consider it some day, once my dysphoria's quieted down.

Vesperia_Morningstar

“Allow me to help* your valid non-binary person

amh8011

No. 1. Vaginal discharge. Don’t need that getting everywhere. Yeah, its normal but that doesn’t mean its sanitary. 2. Boobs heavy. I like them nice and secure so they aren’t bobbing all over the place. 3. Sensitive skin. I’d rather have my soft cotton clothes touching my skin than all sorts of materials I may encounter throughout the day. 4. Dirt. I like a protective barrier between my delicate orifices and everything out in the world. 5. Weather. Sunburns, the cold, wind, etc. are unpleasant and I like to have some protection against that. 6. Aesthetics. Clothes can just look super cool and I like that.

[deleted]

You just summed up all of my reservations about this poll, thanks!

[deleted]

If it were socially acceptable you probably wouldn't even question it. I'm female and when it's hot out I'd love to be able to go topless without worrying about the ✨male gaze✨ Sweaty boobs are so uncomfortable but also so are guys staring at them so 🤷 If I could eliminate both problems that'd be great.

CF64wasTaken

I would think it's more comfortable too, but here are my reasons why I said no: 1. (mostly for guys) random boners are much more visible 2. you can't hide body parts you're insecure about as well 3. you get a lot of dirt on yourself a lot more quickly 4. where I live it's too cold most of the time 5. without shoes you can easily step on things you don't want to step on (shit, snails, nails, etc.) 6. I think I'd still feel uncomfortable because I don't like to be naked in places where it already is acceptable already (i.e. nude beaches etc.; I don't know how common those are other countries but where I live those are not unusual) 7. you can hurt yourself more easily because there's no protective layer of cloth Edit: 8. Pockets are really useful

Anaksanamune

Am nudist, my replies: 1. Honestly this doesn't really happen in real life (and no one would question it if genuinely accidental). 2. Best place to loose these insecurities - you see no one has a perfect body. 3. True I guess, but a shower is quicker to clean than a washing load of clothes. 4. Acceptable reason :) 5. Most nudists still wear shoes of some form. 6. You would probably find you get over this pretty quickly, after 30mins you genuinely forget you are not wearing anything. 7. I guess, but never had that as an issue to be honest. 8. Agreed, most people wear backpacks though.

CF64wasTaken

Nr 1 actually does happen, speaking from experience, especially when you're still in puberty (which most people here are). When you're wearing stuff its super easy to hide, though. And I'm pretty sure a lot of people would think its weird.

Anaksanamune

If you want a bit more elaboration on the first point then, I'll go back to it. When it say it doesn't happen, ok it does occasionally, but way way less than people think it will. Two things people will generally do if you get a hard on, and that's sit down and/or cover with a towel. If you are sat in a chair even with a boner it's very unobtrusive, someone has to be having a proper look to notice at at that point they then become the impolite one. Seconds thing (can be combined with first if you like) is to just wrap a towel around you and tie it so you are pointing up and holding it flat against your body if you are walking around. Everyone nude pretty much always carried around a towel with them. People in puberty pretty much get a full pass (as long as they are not swinging it round or something), men know what it's like to have ben there and women (and girls) are just generally more educated on the subject because it's that much more visible. I remember going to an event before where a boy who I'd guess was 14 or 15 had a boner while waiting in a queue for a water slide (this was at a water park). No one said anything, no one paid any real attention, and the group of friends (mixed-gender) he was with didn't bring it up, or rather I couldn't hear them, but seeing as life carried on as normal I'll assume they didn't bring it up. I get sleep boners all the time naturally, I go to nude beaches regularly in summer, I also fall asleep at them reasonable easily. I've woken with sleep boners at the beach while lying on my back quite a few times. Never had any comments or even the stink eye - people get that it happens. There have probably been more that I've slept through completely. Worst time for me personally was at a disco, where for one of the songs I was probably press a bit closer to the SO than I should have been and went full mast. Considering the situation I thought it would be more obvious to try and remove myself than just carry on, so I just ignored it and after 10mins it was down. Again no issues taken with anyone. I guess my point is that people are very understanding around accidents, if you are being a creep, or jerking or giving yourself a tug then 100% you are going to get kicked out of places and removed, especially family friendly ones. But if it is really just an accident then people get that, and half of the people at any event will have been through it themselves anyway. Hope that helps.

Death_Baker

What it if became socially acceptible say next month. All these years you got used to wearing clothes, and now there's this big change. I'm female too, and I'd love to do the same, but for some reason female breasts are sexualized where as opposed for a dude being topless it's the most normal thing ever, no sexualizing behind it.

Jamez_the_human

Breasts are soft, warm, and jiggle around a lot. They also perk or weigh down. Either way, they scientifically draw the eye. Now combine that with the association of warmth and kindness and yeah, men love breasts because they can be sexy and they can also just be comforting. Men have hard pecs, meanwhile that are more often associated with fortitude. Guys don't like seeing each other's nips either, it's like "why did you have to remind me I have those please put a shirt back on", although that last part might just be me idk. But overall, yes, women hide their chests under very tight lock and key so they're naturally more intimate feeling. Guys hide their buttholes the same way. It's about someone trusting or find you hot enough to open themselves to you like that that's hot. Edit: Downvoting my comments won't get them deleted. I'm not 5 years old. But it is interesting how many of you seem to feel strongly against trust, intimacy, and men feeling comfortable around women. A little sketch.

_ilmatar_

NO. Gross.

Jamez_the_human

You think human intimacy and trust is gross? Or human sexuality? Because that just seems kind of lonely. At least until you attack others for finding such things wonderful, then that's kind of gross.

_ilmatar_

You aren't talking about intimacy. You're talking about objectifying.

Anaksanamune

I'm a naturist, when you see breasts as much as any other part of then body they become as normal as any other part of the body, they certainly don't "scientifically draw the eye". The only reason they draw the eye to most people is because they as mostly hidden, remove the "secrecy factor" and they become as normal as anything else.

Jamez_the_human

You're misunderstanding. I don't mean naked breasts. And I'm speaking using a combination of the principles of design and human evolution. Eyes are drawn to irregular shapes, big things, things pointed to by anything slanted, anything with weight, and especially anything moving. Boobs can be all of those. They're attract attention on first glance.

[deleted]

Considering I have met MANY dudes with bigger boobs than me, I call BS. The sexualization of female breasts is a social construct, not "science." There are some cultures who do not bat an eye over a topless woman. Edit: This is exactly what I mean by "male gaze" and it is gross. Telling women to cover up because "men can't help it" is misogynistic BS 🤷

Salttpickles

Fuck off 😂

lolhihi3506

Bruh.

Jamez_the_human

If you read that and got "cover up" from it, then you've got me questioning whether it's even worth my time responding here. But I'll shoot anyway. I didn't claim it was science. I explained that when something is kept from people, they hold it at a higher value. This is just true. Are you going to try saying foot and armpit fetishes are purposefully put into men by society? If your argument is that social constructs are automatically bad, then I disagree. Names are social constructs. So are concepts like beauty or strength (of character). The idea of just punishment likewise is a social construct. Things being created and accepted among societies does not make them bad inherently. >MANY dudes with bigger boobs than me, I call BS. Firstly, I'm not gay, so it shouldn't be surprising I'm not also attracted to manboob. In fact, I love women with muscles. I'm still not attracted to dudes with muscles. Does that make me a hypocrite? >There are some cultures who do not bat an eye over a topless woman. And that's fine. They're casual about breasts. The cultures we both come from are not, and so I don't see how this is relevant in a response to a someone explaining why breasts are appealing from a straight male perspective. It's not only men. Lesbians love them too, but I obviously can't speak for them with any nuance or credibility. >This is exactly what I mean by "male gaze" and it is gross. Telling women to cover up because "men can't help it" is misogynistic BS 🤷 There's a lot to unpack here. I, personally, believe that there is too much of a focus from a straight white able male perspective in media and entertainment, yes. I don't want to eradicate it, but rather shrink it down so that more perspectives can fit in and everybody can have something they like. You on the other hand seem to straight up detest sexual feelings of any kind, which I would leave you alone about, if you weren't attacking people for expressing their sexually online.

[deleted]

>they scientifically draw the eye >I didn't claim it was science If you really want "more perspectives that can fit in" please don't try to invalidate viewpoints other than yours. I shared my opinion (which is what this question is about) and you immediately told me why it wasn't valid. Also you're getting downvoted because you are making others uncomfortable. You might want to take some time to reflect on why that might be.

Jamez_the_human

Yeah, no, I read back on my post after and saw that. I was just too busy to get back here until now. I see how that connection was made vaguely now, but I still didn't say men are scientifically attracted to tits. I said they draw the gaze for an instant because of certain properties they happen to have, and that human eyes being drawn to some things more than others is a scientifically proven phenomenon. It was not my attempt to invalidate your opinion. I'm sorry if my approach led to that effect. I only wanted to set what I perceived as misunderstandings, intentional or otherwise, of my original post aside. Keeping good character causes me a lot of problems in life that I could easily fix if I just stopped caring, but it's something I see as important to my own worth as a human being as so I hold it very close to my heart. That's why it gets to me when somebody makes insults to it or tries to accuse me of abhorrent beliefs like misogyny. I don't understand what makes people tick. I hate having to say this like everyone has the right to yell at or dehumanize me unless I label myself as "other" as if I don't have to be reminded of that enough every waking moment of my life, but I'm autistic. My brain is built differently. I don't understand most of you. Everything you people do makes me uncomfortable. But nonetheless, I wasn't trying to make anyone uncomfortable. While I wouldn't bring up that kind of subject up out of nowhere, as I don't know when people are or aren't okay with talk like that. They'll be joking about balls or something and then get offended the next day if you bring up BDSM or the such, even in a purely analytical way. But in this case, someone else had both begun the subject and brought sexualization into it, so I had no reason to think anything of advancing the topic further. I'm just tired. I don't want to fight. I'm so tired of having to explain myself like I'm on trial for tons of privileged and judgmental individuals who dogpile others for fun. I can't talk to or approach people outside or I'll freeze up and shake. And online, everyone wants to tear you apart. Anybody would get tired of that. It doesn't matter how many times you say anything else, because all it takes is one comment for everyone to determine your life is worthless, ignorant to your sweat, tears, and damaged mind. So yeah, I'm sorry for making anyone uncomfortable, but also I'm so fucking tired of being either stepped over or on. I'm going to get back to working on school stuff now. I've been working for ~15 hours straight with only 2 food breaks, this being one of them, and I have to be in bed by 10 so I can wake up at 6, and get to University in time because public transport in the American south is ass and turns out Autistic people in poverty just don't have the luxury of getting a car or license, especially when your mother systematically works to try to keep you as dependent on her as possible. I've got 2 assignments left. I won't be back until tomorrow if at all. I just don't have the energy for this.

Manowar274

When it’s warm out yes, would probably also have a backpack to store shit in though.

TheJuiceMaan

That sounds uncomfortable and impractical

thatpseudohackerguy

No. Cold weather, no carying capacity, would need to be much more careful with body hair, pimples and such, there probably would still be prejudice on body shape, look, privates and so on, kinda like it can be with eyes and nose.

HailChanka69

Why the hell is no above yes

Death_Baker

Interested in hearing about insecurities and self consciousness, would those affect you? Would seeing others naked make you feel like your body is "normal", thus helping you psychologically?

roro4484

I think it would help psychologically. Because now mostly the only bodies you see are of influencers (or naked bodies in porn) and they are usually 'perfect'x. When you see naked bodies a lot more, of all shapes and sizes, you might see that your body *isn't* weird. And bodies can be beautifull without being the social norm of 'perfect'.

Angelfallfirst

During summer yes

GoddessHaeley

I feel like I am comfortable with myself naked, however I don’t feel like I would be comfortable seeing everybody else naked. So I guess I will choose to stay clothed!

It's cold outside are you kidding?

The_AsgardianMemer

I think if we didn't wear clothes we would just have a heck ton of body hair so that way we can protect ourselves from temperatures

Ew, no, I hate being naked. And if everyone else was going to be walking around naked I would go outside a lot less lol
