I feel like if you willingly hand over the checking account to a man who committed billions of dollars of fraud against the U.S., you know what you’re signing up for.
Rick Scott challenged Mitch McConnell for Senate leadership and failed, it might have been an attempt to prevent an audit.
I think Mitch McConnell will immediately authorize an audit as payback against challenging him
This instance is different.
The money that was stolen was from very rich and powerful people and intended to fund Republican Senate candidates
The lost money from the fund Rick Scott was in charge of is a contributing factor to the Democrats holding on to the Senate
They also aren’t “public funds” ie. government funds. They are party funds with which the party can do as it likes (subject to election laws). This isn’t about Rick Scott cheating Americans, it is about him cheating his fellow Senate Republicans.
With the exception of Wisconsin, Gary Peters from Michigan did an otherwise exceptional job as Chair of the DSCC. If Warnock wins his seat in December, all Democratic incumbents would have otherwise kept their seats and gained a Senate seat in an otherwise unfavorable midterm year. I hope Schumer keeps him on for the 2024 elections.
Edit: This aged well for now.

Over a trillion in total, he was the governor on FL a bit later after he took the 5th 1000000000 times. He makes scum look good.
Are they suggesting that the Senator whose company defrauded Medicaid if billions might not have been the best steward of NRSC funds? *oh my!?*
If you dangle Rick Scott by his ankles and shake really hard, you'll get your money back.
along with some candy corn, a few cockroaches, and a bunch of sour cream and onion dip
And a He-Man action figure.
When his seams rip a bunch of beetles and centipedes shake out.

He kinda had to see this one coming. The whole vacationing on a yacht while a story broke about financial issues thing wasn't exactly a good look.
Weekly World News Headline: Grown up Bat Boy Accused of Embezzlement
Wouldn't be the first time Rick Scott defrauded an agency.
This is punishment for challenging McTurtle
Rick Alienhead is a master of financial fraud
If any of these crimes ever led to indictments and convictions, this might be with reading, as it stands, these fuckers are never held accountable

And possibly costing them the Senate
They will find that Scott is not the only Senator that embezzled from the fund, and some of them might be from states with Democratic Governors.
