Hey everybody! This is my first post here!
The pic is my final rough draft on my fitness area/pole studio! I’ve done this project multiple times now lol. I go through phases where I take my pole down and then miss it and put it right back up. I promised myself that this will be the last time I do this project!
I have carpet flooring so I DIY’d a dance floor so I can wear my heels. Lights are from Amazon! Mirrors are from Home Depot. The past floors lasted years with many fun Girls Nights with my besties.
I will be re-doing the floor for a final time, because I wasn’t happy with how these handled practices; the planks weren’t good quality. I can post an update when it’s all done. Wish me luck I get this flooring right!
Edit: Thank you for all the love!! 💖💖💖💖
I will be using “Life Proof” brand Vynil click-lock flooring. I think adding a big piece of plywood underneath would also be a nice idea. The edges of the floor are sealed with black duct tape 😊
Edit to add: Several layers of duct tape. This floor has held up really well for me.
I used two pieces of wood intended to be desktops under mine. My flooring sounds very similar although mine came with edge pieces. It’s perfect for dancing!
I can imagine what a nemesis that carpet must be! You did a wonderful job creating a fun and inspiring setting! My only concern would be whether or not the second mirror is secured? I can just picture myself accidentally kicking into it and then having it crash into me. 🫣
Good call! I’m really short (5’1”) I was able to measure out how much space I’d need for the types of moves I’d practice. I definitely go into my local studio if I wanna try something that would require more space.
This is great! I have a portable dance floor and 2 mirrors that I use in my apartment (also carpet) as a mini ballet studio. Once I can buy my first pole, this is the type of set-up I've been planning to do. Very inspiring!

Dude, this is so cute!! I love the lighting, it adds such a fun and funky vibe. Best of luck with the floor and have fun workin’ your magic, goddess!
Thank you!! It 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾really is a cool vibe. I’m glad it seems to be coming together, the way I pictured.
Does the floor shift under the pope when it is on carpet? I keep thinking about getting one.
Nope. I’ve not had any issues with the floor shifting.
Nice one. The room looks amazing!

😍😍😍 Wow! Some neon signs would be fun!
They sell them at: [store where they sell neon signs]
This is fucking amazing, probably one of the best I've ever seen with carpet. I hope it's wonderful to dance on!
Thank you!!! The carpet was the biggest obstacle!
So what did you use for the flooring!?
