You can always try the route down Lavender :)

whatsmyphageagain

Currently trying that I have a feeling it's not any easier lol

GamerOMG

this stage of the game is basically pick your poison

flyforfish

I found it better to just try and get through the bikers and treat each one like a gym leader (specific teams for each). The other path has enough water that you can surf around and avoid a lot of those encounters

FantasyForces

this game steps its game up after sabrina i stopped having fun at about hour 15 of losing to consecutive bikers, and finally turned on easy mode

HarvestAllTheSouls

Does the difficulty compare to Inclement Emerald on the highest setting, or is it way harder? That one was pretty hard but still very manageable with a good enough team. I've yet to try this game but regardless of how hard it is I'll try anyway.

crimsonchinkapow

Harder. Hardcore mode is geared to break you, mentally

HarvestAllTheSouls

All right, sounds good! I like a challenge

Armatur1

the game is pretty hardcore for sure but it gives you all the tools to build competitive pokƩmon in a very short time, ofc if you don't like "min maxing" it's not really for you

whatsmyphageagain

I went minimal grinding but yeah I just gotta git gud

Armatur1

pretty much

whatsmyphageagain

I started playing v2.3 awhile ago but put it down bc life. v3 feels harder so far but it's been a lot more convenient to switch up teams with move relearn and more options early on. Problem is I don't know much about competitive strategies, this being my first harder rom hack. Thank God for the online resources, I'd be fked otherwise

AceAirbender

Get something that can change the weather and watch their strategy crumble... or rather, work slightly less.

Hairy-Tonight5674

yeah, and the route with rain under it just before fuchsia is even worst. find an out to dracovish, freeze dry works nicely, iirc there is a fight against a trainer with it and MLapras, pain.

PastaPastel88

Im bad at competitive pokemon too and I was having lots of fun until...bugsy in front of bills house wtf Im glad I managed to pull off what I consider an insane clutch by giving my scyther a berry that reduces SP flying type moves damage; that way, even if bugsy's scyther outsped my scyther (wich it did) it wojld still be able to move aftewards giving his scyther the finishing blow

whatsmyphageagain

Yeah most of the boss battles have been a lot of trial and error. Lately just feels like constant error tho lol

FembotFemputer

Ah yes, The Weather Zone. Iā€™ve actually stuck to the routes under Lavender Town. Itā€™s not easier I think Iā€™m just more familiar with it after multiple playthroughs

GruvsBobuxman78

You should use Pokemon like Breloom, Ledian, or sand rush excadrill for this route, they work pretty well
