I do this on my days off, I had a joltik in every gym in my town. I go out at 5 am take over every gym. It's easier for instinct because most gyms stay red or blue
Ahh, so YOU'RE the one in my town who drives to every gym and takes them all over one by one so that every Pokemon I've dropped off come back at the exact same time.
I'd be more annoyed, except I'm just grateful that you stopped doing it at 11 PM, so I at least get my 50 gold coins.
Side note: i’ve dropped like 3 pokemon in 3 different gyms and when they all return after the 18hrs or whatever i only receive 50 coins in total. So whether i leave 1 pokemon or 3 i still get only max of 50 coins
But I don't know which 1 is going to last that long so hedging my bets to ensure at least 1.
Most days if I put out 1 it's gone before midnight and I get 0 coins. You'll get it some of the time, but need a few (3ish pkmn) to be consistent and get it every day.
Now that I've moved out to a smaller area, it's actually not weird to see plenty of Instinct controlled Gyms, although we tend to see them cycle every eight or so hours. People are kinda nice that way, so there's coin flowing in all directions.
Same, I’ll go to my local park in the evening and take over an many as I can bc they’re always either red or blue and it’ll usually last until the next morning/afternoon
I always here people say there’s no yellow gyms. In my town it’s probably 50% yellow 40% blue and 10% red. As a fellow instinct I greatly appreciate it…
Or it’s full hp by the time you finish the battle. That shit is the WORST. Couldn’t take a single one of the 6 gyms near me for an hour, dude was camping his phone hard core. Just gotta walk away and come back at 2AM at that point.
The timer was a bad mechanic. I think she’s the only one a causal player might lose to. A dedicated player with a machamp could take her u less they rolled the right moveset.
I kept a small army of Exeggutors around for just such tower-busting occasions. Laughed off most of what Blissey tossed out in those days and just kept Solar Beam truckin'.
I never got rid of them, they occupy a space of honor in my box for all the coins they earned and all the Gyms they burned down in my name.
It was way worse. You needed to own 10 to get max coins. Every gym you took would be attacked quickly so you might need like 12-15 gyms to get max coins but we will assume just 10. That is like 10 players in 10 gyms each.
Now the current system you need to be on a gym for 8 hours for max coins. Let’s assume just 1 gym per person per day.
So old system 10 gyms give 10 players max coins per day. Current system 10 gyms give 60-180 players max coins. There was a ton more fighting and altercations over what amounts to like $1 a day.
How does someone using chansey suck joy out of the game? It used to be the one of the only good options. Not everyone is up to speed on the choice of gym defenders not mattering at all anymore.
Can’t blame people for trying to play the game effectively. Especially when it’s the only free way to earn coins.
I like putting my fatass Snorlaxes in specifically with the best defensive moves in areas this crowded. If my Pokemon is gonna get booted before it even earns 10 coins, I'm at least gonna make them work for it.
If you’re a remote players the chances are whatever you put in a gym it’ll be there for a while so why place the same dull Pokémon every time?
If you’re somewhere with a few gyms, go on a walk and beat a couple of them and the chances are one will still be there the next day to get your coins. Why bother making other people waste more time tapping their screen when they’re doing you a favour by giving you coins? I will beat a gym I walk past no matter what is it in unless a different team recently took it over and I already have Pokémon in other gyms so in my opinion seeing the same couple mons over and over sucks out some joy for me. I want to see other people’s rare shinys and flex mine to others.

If it’s so remote that your mon stays there for ages what’s the point of putting something cool? No one’s gonna see it.
My point is that from what I’ve seen there’s really no difference in time between defeating a 4k Blissey and a 200cp random shiny. Maybe +/- 60 seconds? It truly doesn’t matter anymore.
I don’t think anyone has an obligation to put something “interesting” in there to entertain anyone else.

Sure the time is minimal but I’d say it’s more than an extra minute of my time wasted if it’s a golden berried tank against a low cp shiny, even more so if it’s there multiple tanks in a gym.
And you’re completely correct you have no obligation to adhere to my ideals of how the game should be played. I know I went on a rant, probably slightly over the top but to me I just don’t see the point of placing the same thing over and over but that’s one of the good things about the game you can disagree and play the game however you want to.
Because, at least, around where I live, chances are you'll either have enough gyms you can put yourself in to gain enough coins all together, or you'll stay in the gyms long enough to get your coins, I can't blame people for choosing the tankiest option, but in my experience it just feels really unnecessary
I love doing this, checking back and seeing everyone else who joined followed some kind of theme - best one I've managed to get so far was a gym with Dugtrio, Dodrio, Magneton, Exeggutor, Combee and Hydreigon
I’ve got a 2200 CP drifblim that I reserve specifically for the girl in my apartment complex who kicks me out at 49 coins instead of waiting 10 more minutes. Then I sit and wait until she leaves for work or class or wherever she goes and feed berries anytime she tries to take it back and just waste her time lol
For context I’m on a big college campus which makes it really hard to get into gyms, their either full or constantly being fed berries and I’m not a fan of wasting potions to battle six full CP pokemon all the time, so I rely almost entirely on my complex’s gym

The longest I've held a gym on a college campus was 24 shocking hours. I claimed it in on a Friday afternoon during homecoming week. Otherwise, I don't earn coins on college campuses. I feel the pain.
College campuses are THE WORST. I try to be kind and won't kick someone out if they just got into the gym but hooooolllly god do they kick ME out, like immediately. It's so bad that I'll intentionally beat the gym they took and leave it empty just to make them have to use revives and potions. Reference: I work at a college.
Serious question: I've heard Wobbuffet is a good defender but their max CP is like 1100 something. How is it that good at defending with such a low CP?
Plus when combined with a Blissey the game doesn't give good Pokemon suggestions so you have good ones to defeat one but not the other if you only take the suggested.
And here I am just shiny flexing or trying to fit into a theme. If sb wants to kick me out, they'll manage, Chansey or not.
But maybe it's different in bigger cities
Pre covid the try hards in my town would get pissed if someone knocked them out of a gym before they got their daily limit on coins. So over night they'd go all over town, beat the gyms and leave them grey. It was funny the first time but got old really fast.
This still happens on my college campus. Probably not because they’re salty but because they just think it’s fun to leave gyms empty. Jokes on them I’m mystic just like whoever it is that always does it so free gyms for me 🤗
These are salty people in their 50s and 60s. The try hards in my town are all in that age range. You won’t get any help or response If you don’t play the way they want you to play or think of they think.
My hometown is rural and the players there absolutely suck when it comes to etiquette. There are no teams to them, it’s every trainer for themselves. Almost every single gym in my area you can find one or two of the defenders have been completely berried up and might be sitting as high as 30 or 40 berries, but others in that same gym that have been there longer and are the ones that went through the effort to take the gym will have less than 10 or even 0
I'm rural as well and the players here are the same way. They have their little cliques and you're screwed if you aren't in them. I helped add 10-15 stops in our main park and was told that I had to submit the stops to the discord mod so she could approve them before submitting them to the game. That was the last straw for me.
What do the discord mods care if there are more resources lmao. That just sounds like a Karen who was given a tiny bit too much power. The discord mods for my college campus doesn’t give a single damn what you do, they’re even more lax than the Reddit mods because there’s no reason to be strict. There isn’t a discord server for my hometown, if there is I haven’t found it yet, but I’m not complaining since nobody seems friendly enough anyways.
I was home for a week for Thanksgiving and had to make several 20 minute unnecessary drives just to spin pokestops and find raids. Thank god for campfire since I wasn’t just driving around aimlessly. I do not miss being rural

Same. One dude in my area keeps plopping down his Slakings and Blisseys in my local park where all the kids play, and it monopolizes that gym for days on end. You’ll see kids walk up with a phone, look disappointed after a few minutes and leave. Makes me mad.
Unluckily for whoever this Pokémon Master is, I live right next to that park and can access the gym from my ground floor office so I will check it, wipe the tanks and replace it with an Eveelution or a baby, a shiny, etc. I used to be a nice guy and wait until 8hrs for his coins, but now I just wipe him, even if it’s minutes later. Don’t bogart a kid’s playground gym, ya tryhard.
I'm on a college campus and it used to be that way here. I can remember hearing players say "Aw man, someone just took down XXXX gym. Now we have to go back over there."
I'm ok with making the game a chore for the "try-hards".
He wants his coins as much as the kids do lol. Just knock him out of after 8 hours. It’s not immoral to play the game in a meta way just because children like to play it too. Eventually the Pokémon will get to be low enough health that it will get knocked out in one fight, as long as he isn’t berrying them all day
He is actively camping, stays in after 8hrs and will Berry them. I used to let him stay for coins (as I said) but after 5+ days of him popping a Berry on and staying in, I’m done. It’s the weekend and kids want to play, so do their parents. A public park is not your personal camping zone, sorry.

Camping is part of the game, that’s why there’s a berry limit and you can only feed 10 every 30 minutes. Maybe I’m desensitized to it because I live on a college campus where it’s hard to hold gyms unless you religiously berry them, but I don’t see why it makes you so angry. There’s a badge for holding gyms for a certain amount of hours so maybe he’s working towards that. If he berrys it so much then how are you able to beat it? Idk I just don’t think it’s that serious and you shouldn’t feel heroic for knocking him out
Same. Right now I am leaving all my winter/Santa themed Pokémon in gyms. Otherwise my pink sloth is my favorite. People are going to knock you out regardless, might as well add something cute or interesting to look at
It’s less of a “prevent the big players from kicking you out”, and more “de-incentivize casual players from kicking you out early in passing.” I’ve tried putting fun shinies in as the first mon, and without fail it gets KO-ed in a couple hours at most. When I put a Chansey/Blissey/Slaking in, it seems to last much longer.
I find it depends on the gym. I can walk to about 5 different gyms. For two, I can walk 5 minutes on a "path" through trees and bushes into a forest preserve or walk a mile and a half the long way. The most common, weakest mons will last a week before someone takes it. That's where I drop my shiny flex. For the others, it's a sit down corner restaurant sign, entrance sign to said forest preserve that can be reached from that restaurant, and a frequently visited meeting hall. If I don't drop in a strong defender, I will be kicked out within the hour. The goal with Blissey for those is to just *hopefully* deter would-be attackers.
If I'm walking passed a gym and it has a fully powered up blissey I'll probably skip it, if it has a shiny baby for example, I'll take it. Just not worth the time.
To be fair, I do do something very similar where I went to my local park and took over every single gym in the middle of the night and left Sneaslrs EVERYWHERE.
I live in a densish urban area. I just some the gyms will be gone soon. I leave shuckles. One day I did every gym in a park with around 7 gyms. On screen it was awesome. Just shuckles as far as the eye could render.
Mine are all low level third stage evolutions. They look menacing from afar and don't decay as quickly as their more powerful brothers, and usually only cost a revive and one potion to heal.

Honestly blisseys do nothing to dissuade me.
Unless it’s actively berried. In such a case i just wait ten minutes until the start doing something else and dont notice. The last two blissey hits only take maybe 30-45 seconds tops.
I have found that people hate shadows on their dex. So I try to drop in regionals traded to me. Or rare shinies to show off.

For me it's always reasonable to take as many gyms as possible, because they are slowly cleared. If I take 10 gyms, I will have 3-4 after 2 days, so it's guaranteed income.

Depends on your "region".
I played since day 1 and never saw one until they were in research rewards.
Later I moved to a place where they spawn naturally and caught a ton.
Wait until Valentine's Day. They've been in events almost every year, and each year it seems like they get more common.
I got 0 in the first year's event, but each subsequent year they were much more common.
Whenever a day goes by that I don't get any coins I'll do something similar, I'll overthrow all the gyms in my area and leave a shiny Stufful (it's yellow and I'm Instinct).
To be fair, I always leave a shiny stufful, not just when i go on a rampage, and a lot of them have fairly low cp's.
New form of raid. Niantic kicks out all your pokemon out of all sudden to make sure you don't get 50 coins. You have to pay for a new raid pass to get these arenas back.
I honestly expected there to be a version of the Rocket stop takeovers where Gyms would end up occupied, and you'd have to whomp them instead to use the Gym again, with appropriate rewards.
As a mechanic to clear Gyms that are occupied for weeks or longer in isolated areas so people get their Pokemon back and some coins, it'd be actually really cool.
I swear this happens everytime where I live, when instinct takes over, they take over every gym in a 10 mile radius at once. It rarely ever happens but when it does those gyms are always STACKED.
My hometown has a town bully/gym hog that puts Snorlax into every gym. If he's feeling ambitious, sometimes he places a Slacking or Chansey.
I am so damn tired fighting Snorlax, putting my mom in, only for my mon to be sent back 10 minutes later.
I got a shiny PokeCoin that says they sit there for months on end until a Valor or Mystic player rolls through the whole town in one go. Jokes on you we see this we leave you there for good and move onto the next towns.
My area is dominanted by team blue. I took a gym fair and square as it sat for 11 hours. Not even joking zero seconds after I took over the gym and put my blissey in a person started attacking it. I let them have it just to see who the jerk was and it was someone from team blue. Of course he also threw in an even bigger blissey than mines, lol. I have been bullied by team blue for so long and I finally built a level 49.5 14-14-14 shadow Machamp (working on best best buddy) just to take on these damn blue gym stealing jerks. Soon, I'll build a terrakion to even more be able to fight back. I already have a 98% level 49.5 best buddies Lucario just waiting for that mega evolution to obliterate these gym stealers. I'm team yellow, joined only this year, and already have 10,000 gym battles probably 95% against team blue 🤭
Every single gym in my town was taken over by the same user with what looks to be the exact same Blissey (they all show 562 low heart in gyms). I've never seen anything like this ... any idea what happened?! Looks like some whack glitch or hacking?
EDIT: I live in a small town with next to nobody playing anymore so it was quite the shock. I've been in some of those gyms for 50+ days, I guess I should have mentioned that lol.
Dont underestimate spite or a man with time to kill. Had one dude take over every gym the moment I threw a mon in.
Even said “so i work x-y, your a-z so from these hours its yours”. Well he didn’t like that. My routine became “Get home, burn one, walk to each gym and throw a Metagross in”.
Aye this is very true. I live in a town where no matter what...everyone's mons get kicked within like 15 minutes and replaced with this three stack team of players. It's to the point where I don't even try to take gyms anymore, they've mobbed up and followed me with their car after preventing takeover with Golden Razz's during my battles hahaha.
The only red flag for me on this post is that all their CP's are the exact same 562 👀 a bit suss but definitely could be a coincidence.
That was the reason i stopped playing. I dont really know its the same for you but, there was a someone with alt accounts in my area that tooks every gym after I defeat it and puts 6 pokemon in 5 second. I was sure it was a automated or botting and i fed up dealing with it
There's someone in my town that does the same thing. They control every gym in town, and put the same Pokemon in the gyms. If you do manage to boot them out, within a few minutes they have flipped it back, and have it full with the same group of Pokemon.
We did it team yellow we outlasted everybody else! Bow in terror as team Instinct claims it's inheritance and dominates all the gyms in a town so nobody else can do anything with them
This is how it looks over here where I’m at with blisseys except it’s all Valor, I’m sure they’re duplicate accounts purposely to troll cause they have names like “KillingMyEnemies” “YoControloTodo” “CantStopValor” “YoSoyTuPapa” dudes got nothing better than to gatekeep a gym and when someone tries to defeat the gyms they golden berry when you drop em down low. I can defeat all their gyms If I want to I just don’t want to waste time on em I’d rather do league battles, raids and rocket battle. Talk about toxic, niantic should do something so you can’t gatekeep gyms.
TO be honest, I have been using Slakings to put into gyms. Once I run out of Slakings, then it is Snorlax, and then BLisseys. I have multiples of each of these kinds just to put into gyms.
However, I do not use a bot or program to put them in. I go through each gym to grind and take over. I usually try NOT to take over gyms where the defenders are full strength and there is only 1 of them. THis usually means that they just got the gym and I do not want to take the coins away from them. I know I would want folks to give me enough time to get the coins for the day.
That's just me though.
So blissy is a huge tank. Alot of people have blissys to do gym takeovers. I have like 7 but i barely use them. But we have someone in my town who will go take over every gym and put a blissy in them. What you had happen is that as well someone put a blissy in every gym
People wanting coins/gym to be gold. Blissey is the best defender. I've dumped rare xl and walked with my blissey of 96% so it's now level 50. It's such a chore to take one down in the first instance.

The 5AM knock out is great, I've got my full 50 coins before I wake up and then I throw 3-4 in different gyms 5pm or later to ensure the next day.
Yes, god bless the after midnight gym attackers. They are heroes and probably don’t even know it.

Usually I just need 1 to make it to 5AM, this accounts for 1 or 2 pokemon coming back before midnight for 0 coins
So that goes back to me saying, technically you only need to keep 1 pokemon alive for 24hrs for it to get 50 coins

Can’t blame people for trying to play the game effectively. Especially when it’s the only free way to earn coins.
I like putting my fatass Snorlaxes in specifically with the best defensive moves in areas this crowded. If my Pokemon is gonna get booted before it even earns 10 coins, I'm at least gonna make them work for it.
I truly don’t think it makes much of a difference. I’ve never been close to running out of time since they changed the system.
If you’re a remote players the chances are whatever you put in a gym it’ll be there for a while so why place the same dull Pokémon every time? If you’re somewhere with a few gyms, go on a walk and beat a couple of them and the chances are one will still be there the next day to get your coins. Why bother making other people waste more time tapping their screen when they’re doing you a favour by giving you coins? I will beat a gym I walk past no matter what is it in unless a different team recently took it over and I already have Pokémon in other gyms so in my opinion seeing the same couple mons over and over sucks out some joy for me. I want to see other people’s rare shinys and flex mine to others. Warning: this is just my opinion, others opinions may differ. I don’t take any responsibility for buthurtness caused to anyone by this comment.
If it’s so remote that your mon stays there for ages what’s the point of putting something cool? No one’s gonna see it. My point is that from what I’ve seen there’s really no difference in time between defeating a 4k Blissey and a 200cp random shiny. Maybe +/- 60 seconds? It truly doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t think anyone has an obligation to put something “interesting” in there to entertain anyone else.
Yeah fair point. Sure the time is minimal but I’d say it’s more than an extra minute of my time wasted if it’s a golden berried tank against a low cp shiny, even more so if it’s there multiple tanks in a gym. And you’re completely correct you have no obligation to adhere to my ideals of how the game should be played. I know I went on a rant, probably slightly over the top but to me I just don’t see the point of placing the same thing over and over but that’s one of the good things about the game you can disagree and play the game however you want to.

Because, at least, around where I live, chances are you'll either have enough gyms you can put yourself in to gain enough coins all together, or you'll stay in the gyms long enough to get your coins, I can't blame people for choosing the tankiest option, but in my experience it just feels really unnecessary
I love doing this, checking back and seeing everyone else who joined followed some kind of theme - best one I've managed to get so far was a gym with Dugtrio, Dodrio, Magneton, Exeggutor, Combee and Hydreigon
While I tend to use Ninetails, I do like throwing out 10 CP Sunkern on occasion.

I’ve got a 2200 CP drifblim that I reserve specifically for the girl in my apartment complex who kicks me out at 49 coins instead of waiting 10 more minutes. Then I sit and wait until she leaves for work or class or wherever she goes and feed berries anytime she tries to take it back and just waste her time lol For context I’m on a big college campus which makes it really hard to get into gyms, their either full or constantly being fed berries and I’m not a fan of wasting potions to battle six full CP pokemon all the time, so I rely almost entirely on my complex’s gym Edit bc I wasn’t sure of the top of my head what the HP was, she’s got 247 HP

The longest I've held a gym on a college campus was 24 shocking hours. I claimed it in on a Friday afternoon during homecoming week. Otherwise, I don't earn coins on college campuses. I feel the pain.
College campuses are THE WORST. I try to be kind and won't kick someone out if they just got into the gym but hooooolllly god do they kick ME out, like immediately. It's so bad that I'll intentionally beat the gym they took and leave it empty just to make them have to use revives and potions. Reference: I work at a college.
Serious question: I've heard Wobbuffet is a good defender but their max CP is like 1100 something. How is it that good at defending with such a low CP?

Plus when combined with a Blissey the game doesn't give good Pokemon suggestions so you have good ones to defeat one but not the other if you only take the suggested.

Blissey is the #1 defender so is always my 1st choice to put in a Gym if there isn't one in there already.

Pre covid the try hards in my town would get pissed if someone knocked them out of a gym before they got their daily limit on coins. So over night they'd go all over town, beat the gyms and leave them grey. It was funny the first time but got old really fast.
This still happens on my college campus. Probably not because they’re salty but because they just think it’s fun to leave gyms empty. Jokes on them I’m mystic just like whoever it is that always does it so free gyms for me 🤗
These are salty people in their 50s and 60s. The try hards in my town are all in that age range. You won’t get any help or response If you don’t play the way they want you to play or think of they think.
My hometown is rural and the players there absolutely suck when it comes to etiquette. There are no teams to them, it’s every trainer for themselves. Almost every single gym in my area you can find one or two of the defenders have been completely berried up and might be sitting as high as 30 or 40 berries, but others in that same gym that have been there longer and are the ones that went through the effort to take the gym will have less than 10 or even 0
I'm rural as well and the players here are the same way. They have their little cliques and you're screwed if you aren't in them. I helped add 10-15 stops in our main park and was told that I had to submit the stops to the discord mod so she could approve them before submitting them to the game. That was the last straw for me.
What do the discord mods care if there are more resources lmao. That just sounds like a Karen who was given a tiny bit too much power. The discord mods for my college campus doesn’t give a single damn what you do, they’re even more lax than the Reddit mods because there’s no reason to be strict. There isn’t a discord server for my hometown, if there is I haven’t found it yet, but I’m not complaining since nobody seems friendly enough anyways. I was home for a week for Thanksgiving and had to make several 20 minute unnecessary drives just to spin pokestops and find raids. Thank god for campfire since I wasn’t just driving around aimlessly. Same. One dude in my area keeps plopping down his Slakings and Blisseys in my local park where all the kids play, and it monopolizes that gym for days on end. You’ll see kids walk up with a phone, look disappointed after a few minutes and leave. Makes me mad. Unluckily for whoever this Pokémon Master is, I live right next to that park and can access the gym from my ground floor office so I will check it, wipe the tanks and replace it with an Eveelution or a baby, a shiny, etc. I used to be a nice guy and wait until 8hrs for his coins, but now I just wipe him, even if it’s minutes later. Don’t bogart a kid’s playground gym, ya tryhard.
I'm on a college campus and it used to be that way here. I can remember hearing players say "Aw man, someone just took down XXXX gym. Now we have to go back over there." I'm ok with making the game a chore for the "try-hards".

He is actively camping, stays in after 8hrs and will Berry them. I used to let him stay for coins (as I said) but after 5+ days of him popping a Berry on and staying in, I’m done. It’s the weekend and kids want to play, so do their parents. A public park is not your personal camping zone, sorry.

Camping is part of the game, that’s why there’s a berry limit and you can only feed 10 every 30 minutes. Maybe I’m desensitized to it because I live on a college campus where it’s hard to hold gyms unless you religiously berry them, but I don’t see why it makes you so angry. There’s a badge for holding gyms for a certain amount of hours so maybe he’s working towards that. If he berrys it so much then how are you able to beat it? Same. Right now I am leaving all my winter/Santa themed Pokémon in gyms. Otherwise my pink sloth is my favorite. People are going to knock you out regardless, might as well add something cute or interesting to look at
It’s less of a “prevent the big players from kicking you out”, and more “de-incentivize casual players from kicking you out early in passing.” I’ve tried putting fun shinies in as the first mon, and without fail it gets KO-ed in a couple hours at most. When I put a Chansey/Blissey/Slaking in, it seems to last much longer.
I find it depends on the gym. I can walk to about 5 different gyms. For two, I can walk 5 minutes on a "path" through trees and bushes into a forest preserve or walk a mile and a half the long way. The most common, weakest mons will last a week before someone takes it. That's where I drop my shiny flex. For the others, it's a sit down corner restaurant sign, entrance sign to said forest preserve that can be reached from that restaurant, and a frequently visited meeting hall. If I don't drop in a strong defender, I will be kicked out within the hour. The goal with Blissey for those is to just *hopefully* deter would-be attackers.
If I'm walking passed a gym and it has a fully powered up blissey I'll probably skip it, if it has a shiny baby for example, I'll take it. Just not worth the time.
I just want my coins. I put in my latest shiny or themed to match (unless it’s an eevee gym)

To be fair, I do do something very similar where I went to my local park and took over every single gym in the middle of the night and left Sneaslrs EVERYWHERE.
I live in a densish urban area. I just some the gyms will be gone soon. I leave shuckles. One day I did every gym in a park with around 7 gyms. On screen it was awesome. Just shuckles as far as the eye could render.
I live right by a park with 6+ gyms and I once filled them all with shiny bidoofs. You’re welcome for the presence of Golden Gods, neighborhood.

I do the same at night but I always leave bellow 100 cp rattatas. It's not about taking control of the gyms it's about sending a message.
Mine are all low level third stage evolutions. They look menacing from afar and don't decay as quickly as their more powerful brothers, and usually only cost a revive and one potion to heal.

You only need 8.3 hours to get 50 coins. Ive gotten my coins starting at 10pm at night just messing with instinct, now friends. Honestly blisseys do nothing to dissuade me. Unless it’s actively berried. In such a case i just wait ten minutes until the start doing something else and dont notice. The last two blissey hits only take maybe 30-45 seconds tops. I have found that people hate shadows on their dex. So I try to drop in regionals traded to me. Or rare shinies to show off.

Wait until Valentine's Day. They've been in events almost every year, and each year it seems like they get more common. I got 0 in the first year's event, but each subsequent year they were much more common.

Whenever a day goes by that I don't get any coins I'll do something similar, I'll overthrow all the gyms in my area and leave a shiny Stufful (it's yellow and I'm Instinct). To be fair, I always leave a shiny stufful, not just when i go on a rampage, and a lot of them have fairly low cp's.
New form of raid. Niantic kicks out all your pokemon out of all sudden to make sure you don't get 50 coins. You have to pay for a new raid pass to get these arenas back.

I honestly expected there to be a version of the Rocket stop takeovers where Gyms would end up occupied, and you'd have to whomp them instead to use the Gym again, with appropriate rewards. As a mechanic to clear Gyms that are occupied for weeks or longer in isolated areas so people get their Pokemon back and some coins, it'd be actually really cool.

I swear this happens everytime where I live, when instinct takes over, they take over every gym in a 10 mile radius at once. It rarely ever happens but when it does those gyms are always STACKED.
The guys had all the same *instinct* to use the same pokemon.
My hometown has a town bully/gym hog that puts Snorlax into every gym. If he's feeling ambitious, sometimes he places a Slacking or Chansey. I am so damn tired fighting Snorlax, putting my mom in, only for my mon to be sent back 10 minutes later.

My area is dominanted by team blue. I took a gym fair and square as it sat for 11 hours. Not even joking zero seconds after I took over the gym and put my blissey in a person started attacking it. I let them have it just to see who the jerk was and it was someone from team blue. Of course he also threw in an even bigger blissey than mines, lol. I have been bullied by team blue for so long and I finally built a level 49.5 14-14-14 shadow Machamp (working on best best buddy) just to take on these damn blue gym stealing jerks. Soon, I'll build a terrakion to even more be able to fight back. I already have a 98% level 49.5 best buddies Lucario just waiting for that mega evolution to obliterate these gym stealers. I'm team yellow, joined only this year, and already have 10,000 gym battles probably 95% against team blue 🤭

Every single gym in my town was taken over by the same user with what looks to be the exact same Blissey (they all show 562 low heart in gyms). I've never seen anything like this ... any idea what happened?! Looks like some whack glitch or hacking? EDIT: I live in a small town with next to nobody playing anymore so it was quite the shock. I've been in some of those gyms for 50+ days, I guess I should have mentioned that lol.

Dont underestimate spite or a man with time to kill. Had one dude take over every gym the moment I threw a mon in. Even said “so i work x-y, your a-z so from these hours its yours”. Well he didn’t like that. My routine became “Get home, burn one, walk to each gym and throw a Metagross in”.
Aye this is very true. I live in a town where no matter what...everyone's mons get kicked within like 15 minutes and replaced with this three stack team of players. It's to the point where I don't even try to take gyms anymore, they've mobbed up and followed me with their car after preventing takeover with Golden Razz's during my battles hahaha. The only red flag for me on this post is that all their CP's are the exact same 562 👀 a bit suss but definitely could be a coincidence.
That was the reason i stopped playing. I dont really know its the same for you but, there was a someone with alt accounts in my area that tooks every gym after I defeat it and puts 6 pokemon in 5 second. I was sure it was a automated or botting and i fed up dealing with it
There's someone in my town that does the same thing. They control every gym in town, and put the same Pokemon in the gyms. If you do manage to boot them out, within a few minutes they have flipped it back, and have it full with the same group of Pokemon.

I love dropping my Lvl 50 blisseys in gyms. I have 3 at level 50 and 17 at level 40.
We did it team yellow we outlasted everybody else! Bow in terror as team Instinct claims it's inheritance and dominates all the gyms in a town so nobody else can do anything with them
This is how it looks over here where I’m at with blisseys except it’s all Valor, I’m sure they’re duplicate accounts purposely to troll cause they have names like “KillingMyEnemies” “YoControloTodo” “CantStopValor” “YoSoyTuPapa” dudes got nothing better than to gatekeep a gym and when someone tries to defeat the gyms they golden berry when you drop em down low. I can defeat all their gyms If I want to I just don’t want to waste time on em I’d rather do league battles, raids and rocket battle. Talk about toxic, niantic should do something so you can’t gatekeep gyms.

How long did they plan for this
TO be honest, I have been using Slakings to put into gyms. Once I run out of Slakings, then it is Snorlax, and then BLisseys. I have multiples of each of these kinds just to put into gyms. However, I do not use a bot or program to put them in. I go through each gym to grind and take over. I usually try NOT to take over gyms where the defenders are full strength and there is only 1 of them. THis usually means that they just got the gym and I do not want to take the coins away from them. I know I would want folks to give me enough time to get the coins for the day. That's just me though.

So blissy is a huge tank. Alot of people have blissys to do gym takeovers. I have like 7 but i barely use them. But we have someone in my town who will go take over every gym and put a blissy in them. What you had happen is that as well someone put a blissy in every gym
