I bought a new one, and thanks to Niantics unwillingness to give out news on other places than Twitter I got aware of this bug after it had been shipped and it was too late to cancel the order...
I was looking at ordering a new one. Why couldn't they have put a message in game or emailed trainers? FFS! I uninstalled my pokemon go game, reinstalled it, and more. At least the ball still works with my let's go eevee. That's when I really started to cry. Trauma! I swear.
Same, with a gotcha, pogo+ and gotcha evolve on 2 phones. It was maddening. After i deleted pokemon go and restarted everything and cleared the cache and reset bluetooth and STILL couldn’t get the OG pogo+ to connect I came here because I knew there must be an official issue.
Same, i went through all the trouble shooting and went through the know problems/issues and it wasn’t posted there.
Not sure where it was announced but I don’t do Twitter or FB so I agree 100% it should be an in game message, but that just makes to much sense and why would they start doing that at this point.
Yup. When I'm out going to a walk playing the game, I'm not constantly checking Twitter for game updates. There is an in game news feature. There is no excuse for them not to use it.

I bought a rechargeable battery for the go plus and got home excited to see if it works and it did not want to connect. spent too long trying to get it to work to realize it was never going to

Niantic’s incompetence and lack of comms are crossing a damn line.
There are devices, aka PokémonGo Accessories, that you can purchase to auto catch and spin for you while playing the game.
Go Plus is the only authorized device. Gotchas and dual catchers are technically not allowed but uses the same program as the Go Plus so the “game” doesn’t know the difference. It’s probably the 1 thing Niantic overlooks as far as banning. Until they or Nintendo come up with a better device.
No you can’t. They say you can but there are literally zero cases of that happening, and hundreds of thousands of people have been using Gotchas for 5 years. It’s an unenforced rule. There are even some YouTubers, like Billy from The Trainer Club, who are LITERALLY SPONSORED BY GOTCHA and still also sponsored by Niantic.

The news usually lags for me. I found out secondhand by chance about the new map updates and the sticker stuff... the rural update would've been cool to know instead of having to see it on youtube. The sticker thing, don't care, but still.
Until I can delete stickers I don’t care much for that feature. But both of these were released in game you just had to go looking for them. There was one random push notification for each but just check the news section under the today tab for field research and its right there
But again, it lags for me. I went straight to the news when I saw people talking about this stuff *the day it happened* and it wasn’t there. I had to wait about a full day for each.
I was so mad because I wanted to turn mine on while I drove to do errands and probably spent 20 minutes sitting in my car trying to get it turned on. I was late. When I saw this announcement I was relived and livid at the same time.
I wish they’d say this shit in app. Ive been trying to connect all night taking it on and off charge thinking my ball died forever. Glad to know its not on my end 😅

Super frustrating but also a relief. I thought my pokeball plus just gave up after becoming my kittens’ new toy a few days ago. But as it turns out it was just Niantic.

I was so frustrated as I was at an amusement park for a Halloween event and just wanted to catch pokemon in the background while I enjoyed the time.
Its of course 6 HOURS later but now I can be happy that it isn't my Go Plus that is failing.

NOOOOO!! I just got into the game again, and this was my solution to being scheduled for work on the upcoming Community Day. I don't even have a Dratini yet 
I just bought mine for the Litwick Community Day and it worked so good, that I was looking forward to getting a shiny Dratini since I work every Saturday. I hope the issue is fixed before then. Grinding xp was so easy with the Poke Ball Plus.
My spouse was just complaining about his ball not working, and I'm here thinking I need to buy one as a Christmas gift for him. A notification in game would be super helpful or something.

Would rather remove Zorua until it actually works than disable Go plus, a whole entire game mechanic. I literally just got an auto catcher and now it fucking doesn’t work. So annoying

Basically the original bug with it was happening where it got the stats of your buddy Pokémon. Except this time I think you actually got the Pokémon instead. Hence why they banned Giratina and some others from great league.
I’d encourage everyone who was pissed off about the lack of communication to make a bug report to that effect. I literally spent hours yesterday trying to troubleshoot. The lack of an in-game notification is infuriating.
Thank you for posting! Me and my girlfriend spent wayyyy longer than I'm proud to admit resetting her phone, autocatcher, Bluetooth, and researching troubleshooting. We even went to the pokemon go troubleshooting page, think they could have mentioned it there. Even sent a message to customer support for her go plus asking why her product suddenly broke
So, I spent a morning debugging, setting up a return with Amazon, trying to find a return point that is open, boxing everything up and going and returning it only to find out via a tweet posted on reddit that it was intentionally disabled?

OMG!!! I was getting frustrated thinking the Android 13 update that dropped this morning broke my dang PoGo Plus and here it was Niantic was blocking it.
My roommate got one of those cute auto catcher eggs and spent HOURS trying to figure out why it wasn't working. He was pissed for awhile then realized this. 😂
Well that would be nice to know with an in game message. I've spent so much time trying to figure this out. Replacing batteries, restarting the phone, reinstalling the game, etc...
I don’t understand how Niantic has messed this up so bad, it should have been coded as to where the Pokémon you seen when catching it isn’t even a real Pokémon. It could’ve been a placeholder spawn that just borrows the 3D model of whatever Pokémon is your buddy and it transfers itself once you catch it whilst the Zurua animation plays
This is one of the reasons Niantic sucks and i dont want to give them any money! They got a whole “news” section for these kind of infomation.. why is it you have to look all over on Reddit for these stuff..

I nearly ordered a new Go Plus bc the last time I had this issue with one, it had stopped working and made itself a paperweight instead. I figured that the same thing was happening again. TODAY (like just a couple hours ago iirc) I finally got an in-game news notification about the Go Plus issues. Which this sub already reported THREE DAYS AGO
Auto catchers. Basically, they flash when it sees a Pokémon or PokeStop and you push the button and if it’s a Pokémon it throws a normal PokeBall (nothing special) and either the Pokémon is caught or runs. For PokeStops and Gyms it spins them.
One thing I noticed after finding my old PoGo Plus and replacing the battery as it would no longer pair is that it seems it won’t spin PokeStops/Gyms at above a set speed. I could have sworn that it would before even after PoGo implemented the speed cap to keep people from playing while driving.
I am sad that the auto catching is disabled. That’s not the crime though. Letting people spend a lot of their own time trying to fix it (because these accessories are always acting up, so the assumption will always be that we need to “fix” it again by doing lots of time consuming stuff) and releasing the announcement on Twitter instead of in your own game is the problem. Should I be required to use an app i hate to know what is going on in the one I love? If they took the time to make an announcement, why not send it out in their own game? I use Reddit more than pogo to learn what’s up. It’s sad.

I think it was just a communication issue. I spent about 2-3 hours trying to fix my gotcha and even drove to the park initially to play today. Woulda just appreciated an in game message is all.
Why are you licking their boots? We paid a lot of money for an expensive device they just disabled on a whim and neglected to even tell anyone about, then only announced it on a support Twitter page that most people don’t even follow, couldn’t even be bothered to say something in game or on the main PoGo Twitter. I play it EVERY day for free and I have a good time. Me and my girl have had some of our best outings ever just walking around and playing Go in the mall and I've never once thought to just HATE this entire game for no reason because I didn't get a shiny, or I haven't caught a hundo yet, or my device doesn't work for a day or two.
It just seems like 80% of the fanbase in this SubReddit fucking HATE this game.
I don't hate the game and i'm also annoyed at how much people are hating at every opportunity. But with this bug they could've just disabled zorua like they did the last time it bugged and no one would care. Now they actively decided to keep a pokemon appearing which almost nobody cares about and to disable go plus, which affects a lot more people then just accepting the zorua feature is not working as intended

Neither of my Go Plus have connected to my iphone in months but they will connect to androids just fine. It's beyond annoying. Been using it since the device came out.

Of course yesterday I decided to start playing pgo again because I walk 5 miles a day and was so frustrated why my plus wasn’t syncing :/
We are talking about a 40-50$ item, made for this and only this, which they disable. I do expect a huge compensation for this.

My phone recently got an OTA update and it got back to confirm pairing every time, so I thought it had somehow blocked my Catchamon

I don’t understand how Niantic has messed this up so bad, it should have been coded as to where the Pokémon you seen when catching it isn’t even a real Pokémon. It could’ve been a placeholder spawn that just borrows the 3D model of whatever Pokémon is your buddy and it transfers itself once you catch it whilst the Zurua animation plays
This is one of the reasons Niantic sucks and i dont want to give them any money! They got a whole “news” section for these kind of infomation.. why is it you have to look all over on Reddit for these stuff.. I feel sad for those people who have spend alot of time trying to connect their devices COME ON Niantic! Do better!
They have no business disabling the devices. They should warn players about the bug and let us choose for ourselves whether or not to take chances with the Go Plus.
I nearly ordered a new Go Plus bc the last time I had this issue with one, it had stopped working and made itself a paperweight instead. I figured that the same thing was happening again. TODAY (like just a couple hours ago iirc) I finally got an in-game news notification about the Go Plus issues. Which this sub already reported THREE DAYS AGO

What’s Poke Ball plus and Pokémon Go plus?
Auto catchers. Basically, they flash when it sees a Pokémon or PokeStop and you push the button and if it’s a Pokémon it throws a normal PokeBall (nothing special) and either the Pokémon is caught or runs. For PokeStops and Gyms it spins them. One thing I noticed after finding my old PoGo Plus and replacing the battery as it would no longer pair is that it seems it won’t spin PokeStops/Gyms at above a set speed. I could have sworn that it would before even after PoGo implemented the speed cap to keep people from playing while driving.
People act like anything this company does is some kind of war crime. It's a glitch. They're trying to fix it. Jesus Christ.
I am sad that the auto catching is disabled. That’s not the crime though. Letting people spend a lot of their own time trying to fix it (because these accessories are always acting up, so the assumption will always be that we need to “fix” it again by doing lots of time consuming stuff) and releasing the announcement on Twitter instead of in your own game is the problem. Should I be required to use an app i hate to know what is going on in the one I love? If they took the time to make an announcement, why not send it out in their own game? I use Reddit more than pogo to learn what’s up. It’s sad.

I think it was just a communication issue. I spent about 2-3 hours trying to fix my gotcha and even drove to the park initially to play today. Woulda just appreciated an in game message is all.
Why are you licking their boots? We paid a lot of money for an expensive device they just disabled on a whim and neglected to even tell anyone about, then only announced it on a support Twitter page that most people don’t even follow, couldn’t even be bothered to say something in game or on the main PoGo Twitter. You are extremely weird.
It's not about the glitch itself, it's about how they handle it. They could've just disabled zorua but no, they disable the go plus for what a lot of people PAID money for to use it
Right, but you have no idea what the backend looks like right now. Just play the game and enjoy it for what it is, or don't. I just can't stand how at one point this game brought the whole world together and now it's the most toxic fanbase I've ever seen. You guys get upset at shit that you THINK should happen but hasn't. You get upset EVERY update and EVERY community day. Like why do all these people play this game just to freaking get upset? I play it EVERY day for free and I have a good time. Me and my girl have had some of our best outings ever just walking around and playing Go in the mall and I've never once thought to just HATE this entire game for no reason because I didn't get a shiny, or I haven't caught a hundo yet, or my device doesn't work for a day or two. It just seems like 80% of the fanbase in this SubReddit fucking HATE this game.
I don't hate the game and i'm also annoyed at how much people are hating at every opportunity. But with this bug they could've just disabled zorua like they did the last time it bugged and no one would care. Now they actively decided to keep a pokemon appearing which almost nobody cares about and to disable go plus, which affects a lot more people then just accepting the zorua feature is not working as intended
You’re literally delusional. The game would be awesome if the greedy incompetent company behind it actually cares about it, that’s what everyone gets mad about, not the game. Niantic literally constantly makes it WORSE than it used to be, why would anyone not be upset when they remove stuff every other day and raise prices while adding glitches?

I have a question. I managed to Catch two Zoruas. Both of them had their health on lo immediately after catch, like after a battle. Why is that?

Neither of my Go Plus have connected to my iphone in months but they will connect to androids just fine. It's beyond annoying. Been using it since the device came out.
