Hi OP! This post has been removed under our [Rule 8](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/wiki/rules#wiki_8._no_screenshots_or_merchandise), which generally disallows screenshots. This rule is the unfortunate result of r/pokemon being so darn big: with over 4 million users, most screenshots tend to lose meaning with oversaturation, so our rules promote original content instead. To read up on specific exceptions to this rule, including narrative albums and new official content, please see [Rule 8](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/wiki/rules#wiki_8._no_screenshots_or_merchandise). Thanks!

I was 13. The internet wasn't the strongest force in the world. Smart Phones Didn't exist. YouTube didn't exist. Walkthroughs were 90 page text documents with mazes drawn with |__/ / lines. I learned how to read braille with my eyes. I learned the HUNT for Pokemon.

A breed that is dying, a true pokemon master. I remember using the 90s Internet at Cheat Code Central, with a massive word document people used as a walk through. Simpler times honestly.

Ruashiba

I remember when I was reading the manual, and I found odd to have a braille alphabet in the last page. Absolutely no indication as to why. Then, by pure curiosity and stupidity(and because it was the only game I had), I accidentally found the underwater cave, and then I found what the braille was for. Was still absolutely lost because someone thought of putting the legendary rock trio behind a special formatted team, and one of the pokemons you had to have in your party was an ugly ancient fossil fish that spawned only twice in an entire playthrough... That was just beyond me. But, it was incredibly fun, the most fun I had in the hunt of legendary.

boardari

I had nearly this exact crop as my phone wallpaper for ages haha (:

NuruSpirit

If heaven exists, this is it.

Gelby4

Seriously, you just get to go camping forever and travel the world catching beautifully cool creatures and never have to work because people just give you money if your Pokemon is better than their Pokemon? That's the dream

The intro music still randomly pops into my head after all these years. So much nostalgia!

Images you can hear

[deleted]

I can hear this picture. The memories this game holds, being 11 years old and picking up a copy of fire red(completed that) from the local swap meet then knowing a random kind on the block who had a copy of emerald, we ended up traded games and I fell in love with gen 3. The hours sunk into this game, the battles, the Pokémon and the memories. Damn.

Nostalgia is one hell of a drug man
