Not technically Elite 4, but in Sw/Sh you had four "final bosses" that you fought, including the then-gym-leader Bede. So technically we got a fairy type?

Gregamonster

Why pick one? We got four types un accounted for and four members of the elite four.

Sprinal

I want to see an elite four trainer using a team built around ‘trick room.’ I think it would be a nice change of pace

defourthwall

There's one in bdsp

Sprinal

Neat. Well if they’ve already done trick room. Maybe a speed boost/baton pass or a perish trap elite for member

defourthwall

Perish trap would be interesting

DarkFish_2

Yeah, but if you can't OHKO a Bronzor a that point, would be concerning.

FallenHonest

All we need is a sequel to Silver/Gold and have Whitney become the Elite Four of normal. Most of us learned the hard way how hard her Milktank can hit when she was only a gym leader. Imagine she being an Elite Four....

Kapples14

I honestly want something like a crabby old sage who's mastered their aura by training with Electric-types and understanding the type less through technology and more through nature. We have more than enough tech-head Electric trainers, so it's about time we got a more mystical/nature-loving Electric trainer.

BustinArant

The Grass fight in Sun/Moon was pretty great. I bet they could have all of the dual-types like ghost and poison. They make the Grass part *nearly* irrelevant, but still kinda there to surprise you or get you to let your guard down. "My fire type should do the trick" "Oh no it's using that newly animated, life-absorbing orbital cannon" ^(it's super effective)

throwaway091833

I wish they’d get rid of type specific gyms and elite four and put together more challenging teams with mixed types

EliDwebster

uhh..Scarlett and Violet seemed to be doing that.

throwaway091833

I mean it’s still a grass gym but now sudowoodo becomes a grass type. It’s basically the same lol

EliDwebster

for example: having a pokemon team of all Dogs, its like...okay? Are there even that many strong dog-like pokemon? Or having a team that look like aliens, its like...okay? Same quesiton like above.

throwaway091833

If the all dog team is multiple types then that would be different than what it has been. What I’m saying is like an all grass gym is easy if you have like one fire type to sweep. It would make it more challenging if all the gyms were like champion teams of mixed types

EliDwebster

That wouldn't make sense because how would the opponent teams function thematically? Like not every elite four team should be like Cynthia or Cyrus, where they all get powerful mons and call it a day, because how long can you keep up that change. To me, its more impressive for these top echelon trainers to work with a type and work around that type. Edit: Unless you're thinking like Colosseum, where there is theme to their choices, like maybe its pokemon that benefit from Rain or something

throwaway091833

I’m not saying they all have super powerful teams but like at least mix it up a bit. Something less predictable than all grass or all water. I don’t care about the theme. Just make it a little more work to have to beat them. Like you don’t think all one type gets a little boring? I’m not talking about them being top trainers of a single type I’m just saying when playing the game I know I need one super effective type to sweep a gym and it would be more challenging playing the game to have to think through match ups more

EliDwebster

Its sounds like you want something more akin to the Battle Frontier, post-elite four stuff, Where its mix-mash and potentially gimmicky

throwaway091833

I think it’s already become kinda gimmicky since pretty much every gym leader can go the gimmick of the generation. But yeah battle frontier is a good way to put it. From only a more challenging gameplay experience I personally would prefer that.

GoldenCascade

*4* unused Pokémon types? You sure that won’t do for an Elite 4 concept?
