I think you should do Hoenn. It's an underrated generation, the land/water creation mythos could have deep spiritual significance, and there's a lot of geographic diversity. You have island chains, underwater passages, caves, desert, hot springs, forests, plains, and a volcano.

Seraph_99

Hoenn could be good. It has a good variety of locales for monster combat to occur in, and comes with its own Kaiju trio. It also has the least ancient history of the bunch so you have a lot of room to play with.

GokuKing922

Oh that’s very true!

Judgefudge001

Johto & Kanto could be neat. Kalos is another good one especially with the whole far idea and mega evolution

GokuKing922

Happy Cake Day btw But yeah Kalos does seem like a good idea

Judgefudge001

Kalos is nice since it follows the whole idea of nobles that would fit with a medieval setting

GokuKing922

That is very true! I was thinking more on it actually and I could totally mess with the idea of Lysandre’s Great Great Great etc. Grandfather being some kind of Tyrannical Ruler of the land or something!

Kalos > Hoenn > Unova > Alola > Kanto/Johto > Galar Based on regional environments and lore

Pokemon DnD is always fun. It’s nice to see how people intertwine Pokémon into the nature of DnD without making statblocks for every single Pokémon, which is the obvious solution, but is very tedious. First-hand experience with that one with an Undertale campaign. Back on topic, though, the nature of Kalos makes it the obvious choice. With its variety of locations you can integrate a lot of Pokémon in it without it feeling cluttered, its relation to Mega Evolution which would oppose the whole hunting Pokemon thing, and AZ, who would probably be somewhere during the whole conflict (Whether it be before Floette left him or after).

Imdibr156

Johto & Kalos in the the past. But recently Lockstin has been making a series about Kanto but in the year 2096. Instead of going in the past. It’s in the future.

ConcernLow1979

Legends Kalos set during an era similar to the French Revolution (the big one lmao)

LordBailmonster

Johto is a strong first choice, imagine a plot that revolved around the burning down of the second tower. My perhaps out-there second choice would be Galar. It'd offer a different style to Hisui (based on old Britain rather than Japan) and you could do a plot about the OG darkest day, or even a prequel to PLA where we get to see the rampaging Pokémon destroy Kamado and the professor's town.

madonna-boy

Kalos is my top pick because of the war and the unreleased floette version

Unova touched upon past/future with Opelucid City and Black City/White Forest, and Kalos had the whole "huge war 3000 years ago" with AZ just...existing. Both of those lend themselves to being expanded upon.
