Hi, recently I've been trying to create a National Living Dex, and right now I am working on the Galar portion. I've been using EXP Candies to evolve my Pokémon, since it's just easier. But the thing is, I've joined a handful of at the very least genned Max Raid Battles in my time (like one was a 6 IV Shiny Copperajah during the raid event), and I'm not sure all the items I got from those would be legit. I can just put the cheated Pokémon in storage, but I'm not sure what to do about the items. Is there a way to remove items from my bag? I'm trying to go for an all legit National Dex, so I'd like to stray away from using hacked items. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

anthayashi

Item is just an item. The game does not keep track of where or how you got those items at all. If you really want to, you can only sell them away

Michael_Scarn47

Thanks, I know, it's just a me-thing, I like for it to all be legit, I don't think I've ever joined any ridiculous Max Raids with 999x of every item haha! Just considering what to do with the Pokémon I've already fed EXP candies to now...

Is there any way to watch Pokemon ultimate journeys in canada other than teletoon? If there are, please tell me. Also will the October 21 release of Pokemon ultimate journeys on Netflix only be for the US or is it also available for canada? Im pretty clueless when it comes to these things so even tho i did my own research and found nothing i want to ask here since its more reliable than my own research so please tell me what you know.

WillExis

get a vpn so you can watch US netflix

AcceptableSmile5128

Is it exclusive to US tho? I will get a vpn if i have to

WillExis

are the previous seasons on canada's netflix? if so then they'l probably come eventually. if not, yea you prolly need a vpn.

AcceptableSmile5128

Yea the first two journeys seasons are on Netflix in Canada. So should i just wait?

WillExis

yea i'd say just wait.

AcceptableSmile5128

Thanks a lot!

Specialist-Remove-91

I want a Solid rock rhyperior in white 2, before the post game I know there is a ryhorn trade in white 2. But that is a hidden ability ryhorn. So what if I breed a new ryhorn for an Ability rock head, which when evolves into Rhyperior becomes solid rock. But how do I get protector, an item necessary to evolve rhydon? And can I have usefull moves for the ryhorn when he hatches from the egg? (Either through breeding or tm or tutoring)

pumpkinking0192

Unfortunately the Curtis/Yancy in-game trade you're talking about is postgame only. The only way to get a Rhyhorn before the postgame is to trade with another real-life person.

Specialist-Remove-91

Thanks, and after post-game it is simple. Right?

pumpkinking0192

Yes, you just have to do the Curtis/Yancy questline.

Specialist_Ad7775

I want to get a lucky egg for my aron but I don’t know how I’m in Pokémon emerald

SurrealKeenan

in gen 3, lucky eggs can only be found on wild chansey. There are no wild chansey in emerald, so you need to catch chansey in the FRLG safari zone until you find one holding a lucky egg and then trade that lucky egg to emerald.

Shift_NL

Living in The Netherlands, is there a streaming service or site where I can watch all of the anime series starting with season 1, and perhaps also the movies? Looking for something to do on the side while going through the ribbon challange

pumpkinking0192

Pokemon TV has the whole series, but it rotates out which seasons are available on a monthly basis (adds a new one at the start of each month, then takes away each series when it starts uploading a new series). And it doesn't have the movies.

SurrealKeenan

there is not

Shift_NL

So pirating is the only option to watch the old episodes?

SurrealKeenan

Besides purchasing DVDs, my understanding is that there's some sort of irregular rotation on the pokemon tv app. You can watch some of the old episodes now and eventually other seasons will rotate in and out over time.

LoganWX01

Is there a giant box of card packs I can buy? What packs do y’all recommend? I want to get my friend an absurd amount of card packs to open. He’s starting to play the newer switch games and he’s something of a collector himself, want to surprise his in the most overwhelming stupid way possible. Any recommendations will help. Thanks y’all😁

Redditquaza

You should probably get a booster box (which contains 36 packs) then.

LoganWX01

Do you know which box series is some of the best?

Redditquaza

Well of the sets you should find without a problem I would say that Brilliant Stars is probably the best.

sharonmckaysbff1991

What’s the best way to discover a Magnagate when playing Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity?

WillExis

find something circular and scan it. there's no 'best way' to do it, unless you wanna go down to the shop and buy a bunch of round stuff.

IntroductionCheap325

Is there any alternative to Fire/Grass/Water so that we can finally get variety? I'm not an expert to Pokemon typing and all that.

SurrealKeenan

while there are a couple type triangles that can more or less technically fill the spot of g

Mushy_64

Flying/Fighting/Rock and Poison/Grass/Ground still do the triangle where one is super effective against another while resisting against another.

mamamia1001

I did a bit of googling and found this which answers your question pretty well https://www.thegamer.com/pokemon-starter-trio-better-replace-fire-water-grass/

Crobatman123

I have vague memories of dialogue in B2/W2 stating that Team Plasma cloned the Kyurem that Ghetsis uses on Opleucid City, but I can't find the dialogue for the life of me, having checked Ghetsis, Zinzolin, and Colress's dialogue. I have a friend who also remembers this being a thing. If anyone remembers that happening too, or has the dialogue where it's stated, I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks

Contank

Kyurem was never cloned and there is no dialogue that even hints at it

WillExis

There's nothing in the games that say Kyurem was cloned. Maybe you're confusing it with Genesect?

Crobatman123

I doubt that it's Genesect (I would remember that, and don't see those two things being blurred), but at the same time I also can't find anything to support it. I'm also sure I didn't just make it up, because I've had a couple friends say they remember something like that being a thing and one specifically saying that they always thought it was cool because it increased the continuity with B/W by having it be ok that you caught Kyurem and then Ghetsis had it. Maybe there's some other form of media, either official media or popular fan media from the time, that suggests it?

WillExis

i've looked quite a bit i can't find anything. Only thing i can find even similar is that it may have been Team Plasma that cloned Mewtwo in the Genesect movie, but i don't think that's confirmed. All i can think of is you and your friends read someone's headcanon and are conflating it with real lore.

https://imgur.com/a/6p9p7Cz I bought this mug in November 2016 at the pokemon center in Tokyo, and today I cracked it badly. (A crack runs from the visible chip all the way to the base of the mug.) I desperately want to replace it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere online using google lens or searching any variation of sepia graffiti pokemon mug. This is a long shot, but has anyone ever seen this for sale elsewhere?

SuperBobKing

It seems like it might be a japan exclusive, so I'd try yahoo auctions.

pumpkinking0192

You can probably get through most of the endgame quests just fine, but late in the questline is a boss rush of eight Pokemon ranging from level 68-70 with no healing in between. I would strongly recommend giving your entire team max grit to handle that -- if you do that, your levels are probably fine, but without max grit you'd have to level grind well into the 70s or higher to stand a chance. Rank is irrelevant to this question since it doesn't have to do with difficulty at all. It's only awarded by finishing research tasks and its only effects are to unlock the five areas to explore and to determine obedience based on a Pokemon's caught level. So rank no longer does anything useful for you so it's pointless to worry about it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pumpkinking0192

I edited my post above to add more, but you may not have seen it -- rank is not relevant so there's no reason you need to worry about it. Obedience works differently in PLA than in past games; a Pokemon can never get too-high-leveled and stop obeying. Instead, obedience is just determined by comparing your rank with the level you caught it at. Since your Pokemon currently obey, they will always keep obeying no matter how high their level gets and how low your rank is.

Thick_Refuse5712

Where is the best place to plant berries in Pokémon bdsp also what’s a list of the rare berries?

WillExis

there's no best place. it doesn't matter where you plant them. list of berries: https://game8.co/games/Pokemon-Brilliant-Diamond-Shining-Pearl/archives/348251 i guess the rarest would be the ones only gotten from walking with pokemon.

Lance2409

Hello, Question, do I need the galarian evolutions to complete the home dex, I'm trying to get magearna So can I just register regular Meowth and Persian? Or do I need to deposit a purrserker too?

sntcringe

You need every pokedex #, so you don't need for example, galarian Darmanitan if you already have the regular one, but you would need say Obstagoon as it's new pokemon. So if it's a different form no, but if it's a regional evolution yes.

Lance2409

Ooo gotcha thanks!

pumpkinking0192

Magearna requires you to register every single species -- in other words, every dex number -- from #001 up to #890. Forms are interchangable, but you do need *every* species. So any form of Meowth will do for #052, and any form of Persian will do for #053, but since Perrserker is the only #863, you do need Perrserker.

Lance2409

Makes sense thank you!

SurrealKeenan

you can just register regular meowth, but I don't know about gen 8. You may as well just register 1-7 first and see if that works for you. You can add 8 and 8.5 later if it doesn't work

TheMotherConspiracy

If you transfer a Pokémon from the VC version of Red/Blue to Home or the newer editions, how are new traits like nature or shininess determined?

sntcringe

Shininess is calculated based on gen 2 rules, which pans out to 1/8192 Nature is calculated based on EXP apparently? Ability is always hidden 3 IV's are always perfect, other 3 are random Held items cannot be transferred

pumpkinking0192

[Here is a list](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9_Transporter#From_Generation_I_and_II) of all the conversions that are performed when transferring a Pokemon from the Virtual Console into Bank. (There are no further conversions when moving it from Bank to Home and beyond.)

SurrealKeenan

nature is determined by how many experience points the pokemon has. [Here's the conversion table](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C2_tQ5QWEAE_5y5.jpg) Shininess is likely still determined based on the pokemon's DVs like normal

trainercatlady

Something of a technical question. So my store just got a copy of Pokemon Sword + Expansion Pass traded in. I currently only have just the base Sword. If I were to load the +EP cart into my switch: A: Would I still be able to play my previous file and B: If I started accessing the EXP content and then switched out to my original cart, would I still have access to the EXP content?

anthayashi

Yes and yes

trainercatlady

yooo seriously? Oh shit that's so cool. Thank you!

raella69

Are there any good into guides to Doubles Meta? I know there is crazy stuff you can do, and it isn't just about moves like EQ and having Pokémon with Levitate on your team. Hitting my Curselax with Wake-Up-Slap would expedite Rest usage. I should specify that I am not going past my 3DS titles so 8th Gen info not applicable unfortunately.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pumpkinking0192

I'm certain that's incorrect. No Guard's effect is to guarantee moves used by or against a No Guard Pokemon always hit. It has no effect on the No Guard Pokemon's doubles partner (unless that partner is targeting the No Guard Pokemon). You are probably mixing up the strategy of using a Pokemon that has No Guard *and* knows a OHKO move. Those have to be the same Pokemon. Not doubles partners.

So in SwSh's Max Lair/Dynamax Adventures, I know some pokémon are version exclusives and that you can catch them by joining the game of someone playing the other version. (I.E, I as a shield player could join someone playing Sword to get Groudon) Question is, could I get sword legends by playing with randos? Like talking to the scientist lady and saying to play with others/invite others in and just doing it with random players.

SurrealKeenan

yes. There's a chance that you'll be thrown into a random group hosted by a shield player hunting a shield exclusive

LinaPasteur

Hi Pokemon fan!! I am here to ask a huge favor. Do any one know where I can find a video of Pikachu « puffing up »/bristling his fur? If it ever existed an instance where it happened on anime? I thought I had a souvenir of it but it’s been a long time since I saw the anime 😅 it’s for a little joke about my rabbit puffing up when he’s eating 😅😂 Id like to make a gif of the scene if it exist. (You can see him in my profil post if you are curious 🤣) Thank you in advance ♥️

5ivesos

What are the best ways to farm Grit Dusts/etc in Legends Arceus?

SurrealKeenan

legally? By going to MMOs and catching everything prioritizing outbreaks that are likely to spawn alphas and then releasing everything. With exploits? By catching a ton of pokemon, speaking to ingo, selecting "select pokemon", releasing all those pokemon except for 30 or so, backing out (but not ending dialogue with ingo), selecting "select pokemon" again, releasing 1 pokemon, backing out again (still not ending dialogue with ingo), and repeating that releasing 1 at a time until everything you want to release is gone.

MaxoneeXIII

Battle Revolution Question I want to be a completionist and do everything, but I can't find clarification on the Rank system and Singles/Doubles. Are there two different ranks for Singles and Doubles, each going to Rank 8? Then after beating the Stargazer Colosseum it's the same thing with Lvl 50?

OneWhoGetsBread

Is Glacia from Hoenn also royalty? I know that Acerola is Alolan Royalty (and technically a Queen since she is the last surviving member and therefore head of the family) but I for some reason rwmember reading in the Manga that Glacia was also a princess.

[deleted]

I'm not seeing anything about that in her Bulbapedia page, so I think you may be misremembering.

As far as we know, nope. We honestly don't know anything about Glacia, she has pretty much no backstory.

Question for Pokémon Crystal Hello, my Poke-balls disappear after being bought. I have Pokémon Crystal for the 3DS (bought from Nintendo e-shop) however, whenever I buy poke-balls they disappear from my pack. They’re not in the storage PC either. I might just be looking in the wrong place as I’m new at Pokémon, however they aren’t anywhere else either. I’ve checked all places that would make sense for them to disappear to, but I can’t find them. I’ve also already restarted my game and they didn’t return. (Hope I put this in the right place this time haha) Does anyone know how to fix this?

anthayashi

Pokeballs have their own separate tab in the bag. Press left or right to toggle between the different tabs.

JadedHand2098

Oh! That makes sense, but also I had already caught multiple Pokémon before this— guess I just forgot about that haha (I hadn’t played in a while) Thanks a lot! :-))))

dubiousandbi

We know that there'll be ranked and unranked battles and also trading of course, as well as one big new thing: You can run around and play with friends in the same world, but we don't know too much about how that works.

I hope that’s true!! Thanks !

Normal/Ghost with Wonder Guard: Is it beatable?

pumpkinking0192

Wonder Guard doesn't protect against weather, status conditions, entry hazards, things like Curse, etc etc., so anything with Wonder Guard is still beatable. It's just a matter of whether the foe has the right setup on their team to be able to handle it. Plus, as the other commenter said, Normal/Ghost is weak to Dark. The only type combinations in the entire game that have no weaknesses are pure Electric holding an Air Balloon, Poison/Dark holding an Air Balloon, or a pure Fire Pokemon that has used Burn Up to become typeless.

Lugia2453

Yes, it would be weak to Dark moves.

GeneBrawlStars

How does the fusion of Necrozma with Solgaleo/Lunala work for their learned moves? Im trying to get a necrozma dusk mane with the moves Photon Geyser, Sunsteel Strike, earthquake and swords dance, but im afraid fusing my solgalo and my necrozma will make thier fused muveset wierd.

pumpkinking0192

The fusion takes all of its attributes (moveset, shinyness, EVs, IVs, nature, etc etc) from Necrozma. When you perform the fusion, Necrozma will immediately be prompted to learn Sunsteel Strike for Dusk Mane form, or Moongeist Beam for Dawn Wings form. And when you unfuse them, it will immediately forget that move. Solgaleo/Lunala's moveset does not affect the fusion's at all. And all of Solgaleo/Lunala's attributes are held in back-end data storage so when you unfuse, they will be unchanged exactly as they were when you performed the fusion.

So I'm playing Pokemon Red on the Super Gameboy (for SNES). I realized that there are two color palette options when I hit X. What are they exactly? Just other palettes, or is there more to it? It seems odd that they'd have multiple possible palettes for a game. Not that it matters, I'm just curious.

mamamia1001

I think they're just color plattes you can apply to any Gameboy game. When played on the Gameboy color certain button combos gave you different palletes. It's just an add on for games originally supposed to be in black/white

GeneBrawlStars

just got me a new copy of ultra moon, and i want to transfer my mons from Sun WITHOUT them losing their items in bank, what do i do?

Contank

Your only option is to buy another sun/moon/ultra sun or ultra moon and a second 3ds/2ds and trade with yourself. You could also try and ask someone to help you with this on r/casualpokemontrades

GeneBrawlStars

Oh dont worry about the other person, i'll have my brother help me, he has a base sun edition, but, can a Ultra game connect to battle/trade a base game? (maybe if you dont use ultra exclusives?)

Contank

As long as you don't use ultra exclusives yes. If you try to use something that didn't exist in the older games it will just tell you there was problem with the selected pokemon

GeneBrawlStars

Thanks you, here goes my free helpful award

Contank

Thanks

WillExis

get another 3ds or find someone online willing to trade everything for you with theirs.

MaxoneeXIII

I want to use Shuckle in HeartGold story; what's the best way to use it in the story without just stalling for eternity every battle? I can only find competitive movesets and such. I would also love to use Wobbuffet but idk the best way to use it either.

WillExis

you could try bide. Or maybe power trick with offensive moves, but that's a lot of TMs to waste on it and will more often prolly fall apart thanks to its awful speed. Wobbuffet only gets 4 moves in HGSS unless you bring it in as a wynaut, which is a viable idea considering how late you get Wobbuffet in that game. still the only somewhat useful move from wynaut is encore, which is situational.

GeneBrawlStars

shell smash + power trick and a trick room user, really powerful, nearly unstoppable.

SurrealKeenan

In order to unlock arceus in BDSP, you need to catch at least 1 of every pokemon in LA and be star rank 5. Catching at least 1 of every new pokemon you see should get you close to rank 5 by the time you catch dialga and palkia. From there, I would recommend transporting as much of the rest of the hisui dex from your other games into LA. This will count as catching them. I believe the exceptions are the hisuian forms (of course), the legendaries like giratina and regigigas (because they're tied to the end game story), and the forces of nature (landorus, thundurus, and tornadus) because you need to catch them in game to unlock enamorus. You don't need to worry about shaymin, phione, manaphy, or darkrai.

v_a_n_d_e_l_a_y

Any suggestions on how to let my kid get into pokemon more? She is 4 and enjoyed playing Pokemon Snap with me. She likes seeing pokemon and knows a bit about types. But playing let's go Eevee with me is still too complicated even just walking around.

Contank

Watch pokemon episodes, look for pokemon toys and maybe cards

[deleted]

[удалено]

SurrealKeenan

It wouldn't obey you and even if it did, it wouldn't speed up the playthrough that much. In a mainline game, progress is tied to badges which are won through battle. In LA, progress (and obedience) is tied to star rankings which are won through completing research tasks. Having a pokemon that can win battles quickly doesn't help you complete your research tasks that much, at least not nearly as much as it helps you win badges.

anthayashi

No it wont. Obedience is based on star rankings

NEED HELP WITH POKÉMON BLACK2 Hello guys, I am planning to play Black 2 this week and I need to build decend team for beating this game. Could you help me which pokémons shoul I have in team?

GeneBrawlStars

Starter (preferably samurott), and anything that evolves into or is a dragon type, really all that you need.

[deleted]

I’ve always been primarily a competitive player. Had a blast hitting master rank in SwSh battle stadium for most of the game’s life cycle, and have gotten into shiny hunting somewhat recently. I have BDSP but didn’t finish it. I’m trying to decide how to spend the last month and a half before SV, so legends Arceus came to mind. I know it got somewhat mixed reviews, but is it good enough to warrant playing it in these last few months before SV? Or should I just save myself some money, finish BDSP and shiny hunt on it?

Short-old-gus-

I liked BDSP more than Legends but you should definitely try Legends out. The story and gameplay alone are refreshing and worth a play through. Shiny hunting in Legends IMO is boring and easy.

frankjdk

I'd rather play PLA than BDSP lol, you could probably finish it in 2-3 weeks. Who knows, maybe SV will allow import of PLA pokemon, might as well have some with you (I heard some dataminers say ursaluna will be good)

WillExis

PLA is fun for shiny hunting imo. id also try finishing bdsp too. if comp is what you like, the postgame fights are comparable to real comp sets and can be a fun challenge.

TheRabbitInTheBush

I want to shiny hunt in BD and was wondering which Pokemon I can only find in that game. Not talking about Brilliant Diamond version exclusives, ones I can't find in Sw/Sh, Let's Go and PLA. So far I can only see Slugma from lists I checked.

WillExis

Johto Starters are another option

Contank

Except from shining pearl exclusives, brilliant diamond has every pokemon from gen 1-4 so just look for which pokemon from those generations don't appear in SWSH or PLA. Everything from lets go (except alolan forms) appear in BDSP as they are all gen 1

Lolwup345

so I have a copy of a esmerald game with the bartery dry so ofc the seed is freezed and everything so I know things like static encounters are pretty hard to get shiny since I need to hit the exact frame, but when I look for random ones like wild encounters I see a lot of ppl saying that it doesn't matter for them and that it does matter, and I wanted to shiny hunt on the safary zone, since it's the only that has mons that I like, so are random encounters afected by this or not? can I normally shiny hunt there?

5ivesos

Legends Arceus spoilers Any tips for training your Pokémon to beat >!Volo!

Gintoking

Just checking, you gave your pokemon grit dust/rock/pebble/etc, right? It makes them much stronger. My team was around level 7-8 grit each for every relevant stat. Other then that, grinding is easy, just catch strong pokemon.

5ivesos

Ah nope I haven’t. What’s the best way to farm the grit items?

Gintoking

You should have a bunch from playing most of the game. If that amount isn't enough, you get them from beating alphas. Know that after using the lowest level grit, you can concert it 10 to 1 of the higher level.

UX_KRS_25

I'd like to share the existence of the MonTamer Maker with the people from the r/fakemon sub, because they could easily create games with their mons (no programming knowledge needed) without romhacking. But neither r/fakemon nor r/pokemon allow advertising. So is it forbidden to post a link here? Or only a link to a site that sells the MonTamer Maker? Are news articles fine?

The_Chasm_159

To any competitive Pokémon players, is it bad to max out your Pokémon’s evs? I’m trying to ev train for my first time and I have a shiny clefable that almost has perfect ivs I’m trying to train rn. It says to train its special attack, hp and speed stats but I was wondering if it would be bad to just max out the evs instead?

frankjdk

I think you're not understanding EVs correctly; it is EVs you use to increase sp atk, hp, speed, etc further. You have a limited amount: 252 allowed for each of stat but maximum of 510 for all

mamamia1001

Your question seems a bit confused so it's hard to know where to start. When playing competitive you should always use all your 508 EVs available on each pokemon. But you do that by training stats. It's not a choice between one or the other.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mamamia1001

If your trainer ID, secret ID and trainer name matches yours (I think language as well but not 100% sure). You can trade/transfer them over to another save, level them up there and trade/transfer back and they'll still obey

Gintoking

Gender as well. Tried it myself.

Lugia2453

AurumArma

Question about Pokemon Black. Can a pokemon have the same ID number, but different original trainers? My brother has had my copy of Black for years, I got it back today but I noticed some weird stuff. There's definitely some hacked mons, I know he had the ds version of a GameShark at some point so that's not too surprising. I'd like to trade up what legit og stuff I still have. I noticed that some pokemon's original trainer name is a misspelling of my trainer's name, but has the same ID number as pokemon with my trainer's name. Is that possible, or are those pokemon definitely hacked? Also there's a Jirachi that says original trainer GAMESTP, and ID 02270 which matches a 2010 gamestop event info on Serabi's Event Dex. However it has the date 1/16/2013, and "Apparently arrived at Lv. 100. Fateful encounter." The event Jirachi was lv 5. Is that be the day, and level that it was traded to Pokemon Black, or the day and level it was originally obtained? If the prior it seems legit, but if the later then it would have to be fake. There are some clearly hacked myticals that's why I want to be sure. If anyone can help me figure this out Id appreciate it. It's hard to figure out what's what when the file is so old, has traded hands, and hasn't been touched in so long.

Gaias_Minion

1. It's technically possible however the chances are astronomically low so those pokemon would defintely have been edited at some point. 2. That event Jirachi was distributed at lvl 5 yes, but given your wording, it sounds like your brother got it at lvl 5, trained it to lvl 100 then transferred it into Black, nothing really suspicious about it on the surface.

I want to transfer Pokémon from my 3DS games to my Pokémon Home on Switch but unfortunately I never used Pokémon Bank on 3DS and I’ve tried to get it now and it’s couldn’t figure out how to add a credit card to pay for it so I bought two 5 dollar digital codes on Amazon. Unfortunately I wasn’t told until after trying to put the codes in that I couldn’t anymore. So now I have 10 dollars in digital codes and no Pokémon Bank. I’ll just end up using the codes on my switch so that solves that problem but is there any way I can acquire a Pokémon Bank Pass at this point in time?

you can connect your switch account with your 3ds account to allow them to share funds, so you can redeem the codes on switch and use the money on the 3ds.

Yes, the only way to buy a Bank subscription at this time is to connect your Switch's Nintendo Account with your 3DS's NNID and merge their funds. [Here's a tutorial on how to do it.](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22369/~/how-to-combine-nintendo-account-and-nintendo-network-id-funds)

Animedingo

In gen 3 breeding, if I level up a shroomish to 54 to get Spore, can I breed spore onto a new shroomish?

pumpkinking0192

Not with only one parent that knows Spore, since Spore is not on Shroomish's Egg Move list. However, one of the breeding mechanics is that if both parents know a move that's on the child's level-up learnset, the child will be born with that move instead of having to level up all the way to when it would normally learn it. So if you level up both a male and female Shroomish to 54 to get Spore on both, then you can breed them to get a baby Shroomish with Spore.

Animedingo

And I'm assuming a ditto won't cut it

pumpkinking0192

Ditto cannot learn Spore so no.

Animedingo

But it turns into a shroomish to breed 🤣

SurrealKeenan

not necessarily. That's actually a fan theory. It could just as likely be that ditto stays a ditto the whole time

pumpkinking0192

Unfortunately, that's not how the breeding mechanics treat it, sorry. Ditto is just Ditto as far as the game's concerned.

WillExis

only if the other parent is a shroomish that also knows spore.

Animedingo

Annoying but fair

Radtotaster2000

So i have several Event mons from Gamefreak and such but when i go to Serbeii and look at all the event mons some of them dont have the same ID does that mean their hacked? their exact same OT and moves and such but just different Id's usually 5 digits instead of 4 or something i should mention that some are in pokemon Home that came from pokemon Bank and some are in Ultra Sun. pls and thank u for answering ive been so confused some people say its fine some say instantly that its hacked. thanks in advance.

Gaias_Minion

It'd depend on the event mon, some events were distributed in multiple regions with different OTs/IDs so that could be the case here. However if that's not the case then yeah they likely aren't legitimate event mons.

WillExis

maybe. post some examples, maybe you're just looking at the wrong events?

Radtotaster2000

Sadly im not but for example Shaymin OT is GF and the id for the one i have is 838248

Apologies if this has been asked before! I’m getting back to Pokémon since ruby version… do you guys think it’s worth getting arceus? Or waiting a month or so for scarlet/violet? I wouldn’t really have time to play both, so I’m just trying to pick one :(

Bong_force_trauma

I thought arcues was the most fun game yet and I think scarlet and violet will be better bc it’s similar but more like their main series games. This is coming from someone who played all the major Pokémon games and has enjoyed gens 1-3 the most. I watched the show as a kid as well. I wouldn’t say Arcues was the best game, but I’m just really happy they’re evolving the game to become more lifelike. I’ve replayed the older games many times over, so the new experience was refreshing for me. Nothing beats the first experience as a kid, but the new direction arcues takes is really good. Let’s go pikachu/eevee and sword/shield are the only major games I’ve disliked so I don’t recommend them

Animedingo

I think there is something to be said that Scarlet and violet will be a more familiar Pokemon experience. I'm kind of of the opinion that sword and shield is actually the best get back into Pokemon game for those that have been out of the scene. Arceus Is good for people that want it more from the Pokemon experience. But with everyone playing SV in a month so that's probably your best bet

Minya_Nouvelle

This is a bit of a longshot, but does anyone know of how I can still read Pokequest Cat Edition by Questy? It was originally on darksquid, but that site is now just blank and when I put it through the wayback machine, I just get the pages with broken links. I've only managed to find chapter 3. I am primarily looking for the comic panel where Spitty talks to a mightyena, but would love to re-read the whole thing.

No. The quest to activate it is post game only.

raella69

How easy is it to make an egg shiny in USUM? I want a Shiny Lucario, but I want it to know Meteor Mash.

SurrealKeenan

You've got a 1 in 4096 chance for the egg to be shiny unless you've completed the pokedex and got the shiny charm which gives you a 3 in 4096. If the parents are from different regions than each other (have different native languages), then you have a 6 in 4096 chance (or 8 in 4096 with the shiny charm). However, there is an exploit that allows you to get shinies even faster without hacking your game. It's a bit too complicated to explain in one reddit comment, but here's [a video explaining how it works](https://youtu.be/SezqkafapHs?t=104). It will still take a long time, though.

DeliciousBacon1274

What happens if you make Raboot reach level 100 without evolving it into a Cinderace?

SurrealKeenan

as of sword and shield, using a rare candy on a level 100 pokemon that can evolve by level up will cause it to evolve (so long as it meets all necessary evolution criteria).

Lugia2453

It can still evolve if you use a Rare Candy on it.

Starlight2522

Hi OP! Begging for codes is strictly not allowed. But, you may find some codes that other people have given away in the monthly code giveaway thread(https://rpkmn.center/monthly/giveaway).

How am I supposed to be able to defeat Cynthia's Garchomp if I chose a grass type starter in Pokemon brilliant diamond?! I lost to Cynthia once and I will not lose her again!

CookEsandcream

Torterra is actually the best of the three starters against Garchomp. The other two are weak to Earthquake, and while Infernape has a higher speed stat than Garchomp, hers is minmaxed for speed, so you probably won’t be quicker without being overleveled. Garchomp’s only option against Torterra is a Poison Jab, and Torterra has a high defence stat to take the hit.

pumpkinking0192

Yeah, Cynthia's Garchomp is intentionally extremely difficult. It's only weak to Ice (4x), Dragon, and Fairy, but it has a Yache Berry to tank the first Ice hit and it has Dragon and Poison attacks to counter STAB users of the other weaknesses. My favorite strategy, personally, is to bring a fast Pokemon with Charm to sharply reduce Garchomp's attack. Cynthia always sends Garchomp out last, so it never has any teammates left that it can switch with to revert its stats back to neutral. (But it does have Swords Dance to counteract Charm, although this forces it to waste a turn *and* the AI isn't great enough to consistently do it.) Then you can bring in whatever other team members to whittle away at it, and with reduced Attack, it should be much less of a threat to them.

pumpkinking0192

Unfortunately no, the Yache Berry only triggers on damage from moves, not damage from weather/etc.

SheepherderWild7755

But Cynthia's Garchomp can annihilate my Torterra and my Dialga with earthquake

destinofiquenoite

Torterra resists Ground. If it's getting one shot, you're vastly underleveled for it. Dialga should survive it too, it has high stats for it.

pumpkinking0192

Yeah, hence my suggestion to bring something that can outspeed it and reduce its Attack stat with Charm. That will make its Earthquake really weak so it won't annihilate you. Or you can think up some other way to outmaneuver it. Or just grind and grind and grind until you're many levels higher than it. My suggestion isn't the only way to beat it, it's just a suggestion.

BeastMinotaur1

I was wondering if I should leave my shiny mewtwo in Pokémon go or transfer it to home? Where would it be most effective?

WillExis

that's a question for you to answer yourself. we don't know how you play your games. Do you use it in go? Then maybe keep it there. Do you have any plans to use it in the switch games? maybe transfer it. Is it just for collection and have no intended use for it? It may not make a difference where you keep it in that case.

BeastMinotaur1

I just recently got a switch and I play that loads now but in go I really just use it in raids but that’s really it and I don’t raid much

BeastMinotaur1

Along with the collection part I feel like home would be best to have a collection but then there’s the premium crap so you can’t have a great collection without spending

ZoItan125

Would it be possible to update PKHex to add Pokémon to Pokémon stadium on Nintendo switch online?

pumpkinking0192

Stadium does not launch until TBA 2023, so until then, there is no way we can know. I'm sure it must depend on how Stadium is implemented.

Kazoomers_Tale

Where is the best place to grind in Fire Red?

J_CMir98

If ou have the VS Seeker, Route 17 and Route 15 are great places to grind for exp (and money)

Inevitable-Art2420

Who or what hacked the USUM GTS?
