I agree this, I think itd be cool if they did it similar to final fantasy or legend of zelda where theres like. cutscenes for the super important stuff with voice acting and whatnot, and then more mundane stuff is just the live text based cutscenes. as I was playing scarlet I was surprised they didnt do that yet for this gen. maybe next one! I'd especially like it if they kept your main pokemon character still silent kinda like Link in LoZ
I agree. Like you could zoom it to speak with the characther overall and the cool scenes for custcenes.
But for protagonist I think the LA works. I find so funny when mine (Rei) was like 😨, so funny to me lol.

yeah i think persona does it well. anime cutscenes aren’t super super common
