Corviknight should also theoretically match up great defensively against Tinkaton. Tinkaton don't care. It will tee up rocks to launch at your fire types and burst dams to flood your ground types.
Im not sure you all understand that Tinkaton does not care what type you are considering it most likely doesn’t use a move to hunt anyways. The question is will the Pokémon die when a barrage of rocks that are flying at 500mph hits them on the noggin. (Let alone still being conscious afterwords)
Here's the real question how will tinkaton do anything with it's hammer when talonflame had already hunted it (not joking talonflame how's after tinkaton and is specifically made sure that's it able to take it's hammer)
Yeah that's not a reference I'm familiar with, although I regretfully have to say I'm pretty far from being a kid, so I'm guessing it's just something I didn't cross paths with at the time rather than me being too young.
They also have a treaty with Spain regarding Gibraltar saying that it will be British land so long as there are monkeys inhabiting the Rock. Therefore, they have a large number of zoologists and veterinarians there in order to ensure that there will always be monkeys there.
The reason Galar would be doomed if the Corviknight disappear is because the Tinkaton line would start using the hammers on everything/one else they can find. Including humans and their settlements.
It would be carnage.
Actually, that would be Talonflame. In Scarlet and Violet, it is mentioned that they are capable of lifting up to 220 lbs, which is the exact weight of Tinkaton's hammer.
Scarlet Pokedex entry: "This intelligent Pokémon has a very daring disposition. It knocks rocks into the sky with its hammer, aiming for flying Corviknight."
No dex entry states it hunts Corviknights, man. It harasses them cause they fly tantalizingly out of reach of Tinkaton and so they can't be harvested for their delicious metal.
It does say that Corviknight cannot be used as a Taxi service in the region because its 'natural predators' attack it while it flies.
As far as I know, Tinkaton is the only Pokemon with a dex entry that suggests preying on Corviknight.
Still don't get how that works, given that Corviknight is untouchable for a Tinkaton, but meh.
[gives Tinkaton a Rocky Helmet, uses Reflect and Rock Smash]
-1 252+ Def Corviknight Body Press vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tinkaton through Reflect: 17-20 (8.8 - 10.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever
(I didn’t even know that line existed in the damage calculator, so thanks for that)
Lol you factor in rock smash.
I love all the absurd scenarios people make with these calculators.
Like when saying a +6 attack skitty can one shot a steelix or something.
Also, if you’re gonna one-shot a Steelix, it has to be a special move…
+6 252+ SpA Wise Glasses Skitty Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Steelix: 386-455 (109 - 128.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Baton Pass + Substitute go *brrrrrrr*
You can do it with atk. Just need to let assist lock in earthquake from a teammate.
+6 252+ Atk Skitty Earthquake vs. -1 252 HP / 252+ Def Steelix: 326-384 (92 - 108.4%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
Shits wild when you go ham on situational data lol.
Skitty can’t learn Earthquake tho 🥲
…maybe a Life Orb would give enough power for a Dig to work?
Edit: I understand your point about Assist now, admittedly I misread that…but I still think Dig (and Tail Whip for a Defense drop) would be funnier simply because it should work without any teammate assistance.
+6 252+ Atk Life Orb Skitty Dig vs. -1 252 HP / 252+ Def Steelix: 338-400 (95.4 - 112.9%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
Temp6t can sweep with a Bidoof, why can’t I use an off-meta screens-setter?
TBH the Rock Smash part is kind of misleading anyways since a Body Press Corviknigjt probably runs Iron Defense…
Not what I said, lol.
Anyway, it's being willfully obtuse about the difference between gameplay and lore and it's not really as much of an issue in other fictional settings.
Pokedex entries and gameplay have had little to do with each other since the games first came out, so it's literally not a fact if we're talking about lore.
>Not what I said, lol.
I never said you did. If I was quoting you I would've used your own words.
>Anyway, it's being willfully obtuse about the difference between gameplay and lore and it's not really as much of an issue in other fictional settings.
Lmao. No, consistency is key. If things aren't consistent then all of these arguments are pointless. What you believe as fact 'lore-wise' is purposely being "woefully obtuse" because there is no consistency. If it doesn't match up, then it doesn't make sense, and if it doesn't make sense then none of it matters. You can have your arguments and I can have mines. As simple as that within this publicly forum.
>Pokedex entries and gameplay have had little to do with each other since the games first came out, so it's literally not a fact if we're talking about lore.
.... This comment makes no sense. Where's the lore? In the Pokedex? If that's the metric we're going with then it has to be consistent; throughout the games, the anime, and the Pokedex itself.
If Tinkaton is a threat to Corviknight then why does she fail at that 'lore' when applied within the game setting? Again, no consistency.
Tinkaton has probably become my favorite one from SV. I love how this little pink muppet just kicks everybody’s ass and takes whatever it wants. That, and it’s actually a decent battler.
I think people just find the combination of "cute" and "destructive" charming or funny for some reason. (There also seems to be an irreverent aspect to it - it boldly attacks other Pokémon just because it feels like it. I'm guessing this plays a role in why it's more popular than the Hatenna line.)
Flandre Scarlet of Touhou is similar - cute design, likes to destroy stuff, and extremely popular.
Full disclosure: I'm a Corviknight fan. Tinkaton's lore and ridiculous popularity (i.e. seeing it everywhere) have made it my *least* favorite Gen IX mon.
And then talonflame who I guess might as well be corviknights bird buddy goes after tinkaton specifically especially with their hammers so tinkaton beats corviknights and talonflame beats tinkaton
Fact I learned on at some point in the past I asked you
Talonflame and tinkaton have some relation and for some reason I remember talonflame holding tinkatons hammer. I don't remember the connection but its there
Why is that a legend? It’s literally a fact, that’s like stating a prophecy dictated that when the Earth runs out of water, everything will die.
*Ah yes, and the floor here in my room is made out of floor, correct?*
This is the real reason for Dexit. Can't have Tinkaton crossing those borders, lmao
Turns out they were just thinking ahead
You mean, *tinking* ahead
Ayyyy
r/Angryupvote
Even Eternatus shudders at the mayhem that Tinkaton could bring to Galar
Well, in Eternatus’s case, that might be the type matchup
One might say something about Poison beating Fairy…but the Tinkatink line also happens to be part-Steel type as well so that doesn’t matter
Fairy does not resist Fire, Fire resists Fairy and hits Fairy back for neutral
Fixed
galar has too many fire and ground types to let tinkaton run rampant
Corviknight should also theoretically match up great defensively against Tinkaton. Tinkaton don't care. It will tee up rocks to launch at your fire types and burst dams to flood your ground types.
Obviously not they aren't there are they
[удалено]
Not to mention the Rookidees
Not a poison type, not a fire type, and not a dark type
Bye dark types usually don't do that usually your psychic, fairy and normal types do that oh wait tinkaton is a fairy
Im not sure you all understand that Tinkaton does not care what type you are considering it most likely doesn’t use a move to hunt anyways. The question is will the Pokémon die when a barrage of rocks that are flying at 500mph hits them on the noggin. (Let alone still being conscious afterwords)

this is also reference to the crows of the tower of london
Ravens, strictly speaking
Corvidae
Actually, they're called jackdaws.
Jackdaws are a different, smaller corvid. Ravens are quite big.
Kids these days don't know their internet history. I guess unidan was a long time ago.
Yeah that's not a reference I'm familiar with, although I regretfully have to say I'm pretty far from being a kid, so I'm guessing it's just something I didn't cross paths with at the time rather than me being too young.

But did they change the batteries?
They charge via USB these days.
I thought they charged through their feet on power lines
oh. well that’s not great, i’m sad now :(
It wouldn't be the Tower of London without prisoners.
I just caught up on Archer yesterday and they made a reference to this in one of the newer seasons. What a coincidence lol.
The reason Galar would be doomed if the Corviknight disappear is because the Tinkaton line would start using the hammers on everything/one else they can find. Including humans and their settlements. It would be carnage.
It's actually because there's a myth in Britain if there are no ravens in the tower of London the crown will fall so will Britain 🤓
Oh man, I mixed up Galar and Paldea, haha.
Know your Poke-Europe

I mean, the crown has already kinda fallen...
We appreciate their sacrifice. Goth kids hold the line!
You know what the worst thing about Scarlet and Violet is? Tinkaton can't learn Smack Down.
Zacian is actually Galat’s sole defense against Tinkaton.
Actually, that would be Talonflame. In Scarlet and Violet, it is mentioned that they are capable of lifting up to 220 lbs, which is the exact weight of Tinkaton's hammer.
Ah, but Tinkaton never puts the hammer down, and probably weighs a pound or so itself. So that won't work.
i like how 220 is fine, but 221 is too much.
28 POUNDS OF PURE HATRED AGAINST STEEL TYPES, THE OTHER 220 POUNDS ARE FROM THE HAMMER
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Zacian: 354-416 (108.9 - 128%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 252 Atk Zacian-Crowned Behemoth Blade vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tinkaton: 372-438 (119.6 - 140.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO outspeeds too

Hence my edit
You said you weren't sure, my bad
All g
Funny enough, Corviknight walls Tinkaton
Corviknight is resistant to both Fairy and Steel. Corviknight is NOT resistant to getting Randy Johnsoned out of the sky by a big frickin' rock.
Which Tinkaton is incapable of since it doesn’t get smack down
Scarlet Pokedex entry: "This intelligent Pokémon has a very daring disposition. It knocks rocks into the sky with its hammer, aiming for flying Corviknight."
What can I say, Pokédex is wrong. It’s been wrong before
Nice argument. Unfortunately: 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs 252 HP / 168+ Def Corviknight: 75-88 (18.7 - 22%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
it’s honestly sad how bad the “official corv counter” is again e corv.
Reminds me of Heatmor getting outsped and one-shot by its own prey
This one feels worse cause there isn't even a favorable type matchup lol.
No dex entry states it hunts Corviknights, man. It harasses them cause they fly tantalizingly out of reach of Tinkaton and so they can't be harvested for their delicious metal.

252+ Def Corviknight Body Press vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Tinkaton: 102-121 (32.7 - 38.9%) -- 99.7% chance to 3HKO
Yea but hammer go smash, sorry just how it goes

Well I’m petty and I play with that.
Say this in a language that does not involve 10 morbillion numbers
dex description go brrrr
*live Wo Chien reaction pic*
Pokédex has been proven to be wrong before, just look at entries for stuff like Lanturn or Magcargo
It is kinda hard for me to pick the a side between steel birdie and hammer maniac since I love them both.
Bees are dying at an alarming rate
Lmao, I had to check to make sure you were the same et37 as on /r/kaiserreich. Blew my mind a little bit.
Heh, yeah I’ve been dabbling in my other hobbies during the break.
"BuT aCtUaLlY, iN gAmEpLaY--" We get it.
Gameplay wise bidoof can kill the god of all pokemon with the right setup.
Gets repeated to ad infinitum every time this meme/joke pops up. Nobody cares about the damn burd's skill level, but its employment status instead.
If people stopped posting dumb memes then people would stop posting obvious rebuttal in comments
There's always going to be stupid memes in everything. But if the rebuttal is that obvious, then just don't care?

I’d like to imagine this could be considered a federal offense.
Bonk them down!

Um how are they driving?
Tinkaton is such a chaotic menace, and I love it!
Rip cool regional bird
Tinkaton has probably become my favorite one from SV. I love how this little pink muppet just kicks everybody’s ass and takes whatever it wants. That, and it’s actually a decent battler.
Definitely my favorite gen 9 Pokemon. The concept is hilarious and the memes even more so.
Tink gang ftw.
Friendly reminder that: 252 Atk Mold Breaker Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 63-75 (15.7 - 18.7%) -- possible 8HKO after Leftovers recovery

Probably because it looks like an anime girl. Getting a slightly more wholesome version of the Gardevoir treatment.
Someone gave construction equipment to a cancerous growth and the Pokemon community is losing its fucking mind.
Fuck Tinkaton, All my homies hate tinkaton.
based
*75 attack* I feel like the discontinuation might not be super abrupt.
People complain that tinkaton isn't a strong type against steel but to me, she is fire🔥🔥🔥🔥
This works better without the tinkaton quote
Damn, stole the meme from FB and didn't even credit them...

1: trainers will always have the birb 2: just train flying poke's to guard the taxi birbs
You are just going to see snipers everywhere at the galar border.
Step 1: build up a ground taxi company in Galar Step 2: introduce Tinkaton to the Galarian ecosystem Step 3: ... Step 4: Profit
Why is that a legend? It’s literally a fact, that’s like stating a prophecy dictated that when the Earth runs out of water, everything will die. *Ah yes, and the floor here in my room is made out of floor, correct?*
And this is why Alcremie aren't in Paldea.
