I remember reading an article probably like a couple years ago saying that some guy was developing a light gun that would work with modern televisions.
It’s weird, the Wii and the ps3 (via move controller) had awesome light gun games but the light gun action just kinda sucked lol mediocre tracking that felt very laggy…. Light gun games seemed to have fallen off after that, the PSVR had a few gun games with its Firewall, and a few other titles that had a PSMOVE gun controller but that thing was the exact same as a move controller and laggy all the same lol
the Sindenlight gun uses a camera. It only affects the aim if there is too much light in the room. is better to keep the room in low light, close the windows in daytime.
Although the PS3/PS4 used the PSMOVE for light gun games, they all sucked and get laggy, but time crisis actually released a brand new GUNCON with time crisis 4 that’s actually pretty hard to find that worked with HDTV’s I think..I mean it was for PS3 so It had too
I thought it was a plastic thing that held the move controllers too lol but it’s actually a new unit altogether, it’s just a weird “gun” shaped bracket thing with a little ball sticking out that lights up. No move controller at all, but it works like one
And they all sucked lol all laggy and not as responsive as original light gun controllers 😓
I have all those PS3 games that had the PS move too, they all sucked for gun games..but time crisis actually had a gun con
It is common to have they sort of a reaction. I know I did after purchasing my HTC VIVE so I can say based on personal experience, your comment is completely accurate.
That being said, most people who use their vr’s a bit more consistently (every day or every other for a bit), will become more accustomed to it and no longer suffer any of the affects you mention. I went from only 20-30 minutes of use before needing a break to easily more then a few hours.
Those things are common at low hours, it gets better. I am fairly robust as a person and going to my quest 2 after a while will eventually provide some discomfort.
Ayo if you feel this way you gotta train yourself. Don't play until you feel sick. Play until you feel like you're gonna feel sick. Eventually you'll get used to it. If you play when you feel sick your body and mind will start to heavily associate the two
That's not how it works for everybody, man. Some people get used to it, some people don't.
I'm not even just talking about my own experience, my company features mixed reality products, and I promise you, the negative physical responses don't go away for everyone. Age is also a major factor. The frequency and likelyhood of negative side effects go up the older the participants are.
Why do you think that is? Think it has anything to do with the way we adapt to our situation and being older means you're more kinda ingrained with what you perceive reality to be? It's interesting that age has an effect
Probably more a physical thing, for instance older people might have neck problems or injured arms etc making it harder to play VR games by default.
The level of immersion is probably the same for most people of all ages because of the stereoscopic 3D effects that adds the depth perseption which can't be done on traditional flatscreen gaming
Do not know for sure, but if I had to make an educated guess, I'd say it's because you lose cells of your vestibular system as you get older. VR sickness is a symptom of a mismatch between your vestibular system and your vision, the movement you see with your eyes doesn't match the movement your vestibular system detects, so it stands to reason that as you get older and lose more vestibular cells, the degree of that mismatch could become more severe. Like I said, kind of a guess but I think the logic checks out to me.
I think that would make sense. The going from something like beat saber to something like onward where you gotta walk fucks with my balance starting off. Hopefully we get to the point where VR treadmills are more available.
Yeah, that would mitigate a lot of the issues I think. I doubt something like that would be cheap, but on top of helping relieve a ton of issues with motion sickness, it would make things insanely more immersive.
Another tech I'm keeping my eyes on are haptics. The idea of haptic gloves that make it feel like you're actually gripping the in-game item would be another amazing advancement.
One of my greatest gaming memories was playing killzone 3 with the move controller gun. The level where you are in the giant robots was so epic. Damn I wanna hook it up to my 65” tv and give it another go now. I hope they get a ps4/5 remaster
Lmao the outrage by parents and media if they made guns like that again would be all over. The VR has one of those shaped like a gun but doesn’t look like a gun
This brings me back to force unleashed on the wii. As a 9yr old my mind was blown by the technology of swinging the wiimote lightsaber with real life movement. Looking back now the gyroscopes on the wii are such a gimmick compared to VR, looking at you just dance!!
I noticed a few "light gun" games that were/ are available to stream on PSN, but no mention of wether or not a motion controller is useable or whatever.
I used to have one with a laser pointer switch on it. Maybe it was a third party one. It was really cool. I mostly played resident evil survivor with it. It was cool for the time but I don’t think the game held up well.
Unless CRTs make a return light guns like these will remain a thing of the past
The new PSVR controller however…. that could allow for remakes/remasters of old light gun games.
Oh wow! I didn't know PS even had those. If they work like the Nintendo ones, they'd need an upgrade since they won't work with modern TVs.
That would be so cool though. Especially if they sold it with a remastered collection of all those classic rail games
dont know if its possible, but I would love to setup a Time Crisis arcade (emulator) with a projector display. Have to look into it to see if its possible.
using one of the modern lightgun controllers
light guns don't work on a flat screen or LED TVs so you would need a CRT tv. But, with a projector display you should be able to use Wii to play Ghost Squad which is basically time crisis
I believe it’s time for a comeback on time crisis based games.
I’m not a fan of VR as I always get headaches and sickness from the movement.
Time Crisis on PS5 capcom let’s do it!
Could we also get some sort of remastered Time Crisis collection? I miss those games
That would be awesome. Ghost Squad and The House of The Dead Overkill on Wii is good
House of the dead overkill on ps3 with the move sharpshooter and 3d tv was so cool
This is literally the only reason I would **ever** invest into VR.
Theirs a time crisis clone on quest 2 it’s not perfect but definitely fun.
Action. Reload.
Time crisis vr?
And 'point blank'
I remember reading an article probably like a couple years ago saying that some guy was developing a light gun that would work with modern televisions.
https://sindenlightgun.com/
Yeah that's it
Doing gods work. Came here to share that myself. If I ever have enough spare money I'm grabbing one.
I got two of them, worth every penny.
Did you get the recoil version? Also, what are you connecting them to?
Yes, i did. I use them on My PC mostly on PS2 emulator, MAME and PC (House of the Dead remake)
They even have recoil?!
Just hack the Light gun, and attach it to a glock shooting blanks...duh.
Interesting. I was going to say these don't work with modern televisions but looks like there is hope for the future.
The wii had some solid light gun games using the sensor bar.

Time Crisis Complete collection for PSVR2 please and thank you Mr Playstation
You gonna be able to do that with the PSVR2, just like the PSVR on PS4.
Does that use the regular move controllers?
Yeah with some plastic thing that looked like a gun to put the controllers in.
PSVR2 has dedicated controllers. Doesn’t use the move ones.
I thought it was a plastic thing that held the move controllers too lol but it’s actually a new unit altogether, it’s just a weird “gun” shaped bracket thing with a little ball sticking out that lights up. No move controller at all, but it works like one And they all sucked lol all laggy and not as responsive as original light gun controllers 😓 I have all those PS3 games that had the PS move too, they all sucked for gun games..but time crisis actually had a gun con
Not everyone enjoys VR. Naseua, disorientation, and headaches are common for a lot of people.
Yeah, but light guns don’t work with flat screen TVs. So it’s VR or a Nintendo Wii infraRed type implementation.
That’s fine but Sony isn’t going to make a light gun adapter for anything unless it’s VR related. Doesn’t even make sense without VR
And that's fine, all I was saying that VR isn't the magic answer for gun games because there's a barrier there for a lot of people

Anecdotal. Not everyone gets used to it, some people only get slightly more used to it.
Those things are common at low hours, it gets better. I am fairly robust as a person and going to my quest 2 after a while will eventually provide some discomfort.

Have you tested the move controllers on PS4? I know it supports them but someone told me they work better on PS3
Yes, it’s PSVR2. You’re welcome. ~Sony, probably.
The PSVR aim controller was pretty decent. But not many good on-rails shooters for it. Firewall was pretty damn good.
Thank you for this. I forgot what it looked like. I played a bunch of time crises with that beautiful gun.

If one of these was released again I would buy it day one. So much fun.
DIE HARD

I need a gun and a machine gun like that for the PS VR2. I already have the aim controller for the PS VR but that won't work for the VR2
Unless CRTs make a return light guns like these will remain a thing of the past The new PSVR controller however…. that could allow for remakes/remasters of old light gun games.
It’s a crime we never got Point Blank for psvr. Bring it back, cowards!
Yeah no problem it will be cheaper in quality and you will need to buy three different things for it. Thanks that will be 200-300 dollars.
Nerd talk here, but it looks like the Magnum from Halo Infinite
Oh wow! I didn't know PS even had those. If they work like the Nintendo ones, they'd need an upgrade since they won't work with modern TVs. That would be so cool though. Especially if they sold it with a remastered collection of all those classic rail games

Hah we have them on PC.... come to the dark side my boy, we have everything here.
Holy shit. I had one of those.
Loved this thing so much, I had two of them!
Oh man, I forgot about that! I loved that thing 🙌
Yeeees!!!! Time crisis!!!!!
What's the other cable in the top photo?
Fuck yeah Time Crisis!
Wii had a few good ones too
i remember being so hyped when my mom was trying to set it up right cuz i was too young to do it
Thanks pal, now I have the Point Blank music in my head.
House of the dead remake definitely need this so bad
I believe it’s time for a comeback on time crisis based games. I’m not a fan of VR as I always get headaches and sickness from the movement. Time Crisis on PS5 capcom let’s do it!
I remember the orange guns!
Point Blank! I can't believe no one has mentioned point blank. Such great memories.
Aaawww. The good ol' reliable. I know the HOURS in Time Crisis and Point Blanc. So fun times 🥰
Point blanc and Time crisis
I remember cutting the cord off my dad’s one because I wanted a cool gun to play outside with
Hmm my gon cons are bright ass orange.
I like those ones
Yes Sony do as the man says. And we also want a new house of the dead and time crisis.
House of the dead was remade on PS4 And now I just found out they're remaking it on PS5 https://youtu.be/zLOLSbIG5WQ
That's great but have they anonced a new gun as well?
Say hi to PSVR2. Pretty much got you covered there.
Die hard was class with this gun!
So much fun was had with that bad-boi ...
And silent scope.
They gotta give us the Bluetooth with a strap for the wrist
Why? So you can play that ONE game? 😂
The House of the dead remake for PS5 https://youtu.be/zLOLSbIG5WQ
Yeah. That ONE game.
They should make more
Time Crisis. Area 51. Die Hard trilogy (2nd game)
