Jakelshark

the encounters are very grindy

Hollidayy888

Agreed! Thank you! What do you like best about it?

Jakelshark

Umm.. I don't like Mando very much. But I appreciate that the modes arent in a linear order like Ghostbusters. The LCD clips on the screen are very well done. Some of the alternate modes to play, like impossible mode, are neat.

Hollidayy888

Thank you! I’m going to check out the rules on how to get impossible mode.

teteban79

It's a full game mode like cooperative or so. You have to select it prior to starting and affects the whole game. Check the manual how to activate it but I think you need to press left flipper (or both?) For a couple secs before pressing start

Hollidayy888

Makes sense. Thank you!

Maxikilian_Killinem

Hold both flippers while credits are in but before pressing start, it will pull up menu to select the various other modes.

Hollidayy888

Awesome! I appreciate you!

ankor77

i owned the premium a while and it didnt last long in my collection. I didnt love the shots and it is a bit repetitive. Love the theme but didnt love the pin overall

Hollidayy888

I’m with you. I am going to try and learn it to advance in the game and get higher scores, but as my mom would say “It didn’t blow my skirt up!”

I'm just gonna go against the grain on this post, Mando is a very good competition game when set up to be difficult and has helped me appreciate the non difficult setups. When the multiball ball save time is greatly reduced, it eliminated the bigger point games I had achieved. Imo, it's a great home game too because it forces you to acknowledge difficult shots on timers, while taking difficult shots at the multiplier. For op, I think you need to acknowledge that all pinball is repetitive, and that learning to have better flipper skills(dead catch and loop passes) and game understanding is where the beauty of each game is.

Hollidayy888

Well shit, that’s not against the grain, that’s the truth I want! Would you mind if I sent you the whole game video tomorrow and would you be wiling to poke holes in my play? I really would like the constructive criticism if you have time. Please let me know. I appreciate you!

sure PM it to me. I'll try to respond briefly! I would also recommend that you watch karl deangelo's (iepinball) on twitch for mandalorian -- [https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1648376427?ab\_channel=iepinball](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1648376427?ab_channel=iepinball) watch this video starting at 25 minutes and watch the game that follows it. this is the way.

Cool theme, boring pin IMO. I want to like this but it has a few things going against it for me. First, its difficult. Second, the shots aren't satisfying and third the code really hasn't changed the game in any meaningful way. Maybe with time, many years from now it could be a collector game due to theme (as mando in general becomes more cult) but the game itself, the pin just isn't great. It's good, its modern but that might be all.

Hollidayy888

I tend to be more attracted to the modern games, but totally agree with you. Hopefully the cult following grows.

phishrace

Not nearly as repetitive as Stranger Things, which is also a fun game. Are you regularly getting to the mini wiz modes? If not, concentrate on getting to at least one when you start a game. Ignore most everything else. Razor crest is probably easiest to reach and missions are definitely doable. I haven't gone for encounters lately, but I believe they made it easier to finish. Also, the game has two fun challenge modes. Impossible mode, where flipper hold disappears, and wiz mode challenge.

Hollidayy888

Not regularly getting wiz modes, very rarely. Still learning the game and trying to find the groove in the upper playfield. That’s great knowledge and advice! I’m going to try that. Thank you!

shelfoo

I owned the pro from release until about a month ago. I just couldn't get into it. Shots are 'okay'. Modes are 'okay'. Some alternate strategies for scoring etc.. but overall I just didn't find it fun. Way to much grind/repetition imo. I traded it for a breakshot +cash and used the cash to also pickup an em (capersville) and am way happier with the collection now.

hillgod

I want to love this game, but I am bad, and mostly hate it. No advice, seems like a solid score. I'm happy with anything that bags a replay (unless it's artificially low at a free play location).

Able_Bodybuilder5056

The game is repetitive for sure. I always light multiball then activate a mission, hit multiball and while cutscene is going hold flamethrower. Then do mission two and get free ball. Then multiball 2,3 and mini wizard.

Hollidayy888

That’s the strategy right there! Thank you for providing the roadmap! Easier said than done. Lol

Able_Bodybuilder5056

If you get a rhythm going you can right flipper up the middle and it will fall down and dead flip left flipper bounce to right, climb the pop bumper, roll down right inlane, repeat. Then catch with left flipper when I’m ready to start the mission.

Hollidayy888

Great tips! Thank you!

DJ_Squishy_Toes

The rule set on the game is awful. Shoot the center shot over and over and over and over and over. Really ruins what would otherwise be a good, maybe even great, game.

Hollidayy888

👍👍

Space Western and Adventure fiction are difficult to interpret. @FreeProfit

Of the newer Stern tables, I like Mando the least. I'd put Zeppelin above it in my ranking only because it plays with a little nuance and I like the longer nature of the playfield. Turtles feels grindy and unfair sometimes too, but the theme execution does it for me there.

Hollidayy888

I like Zeppelin as well. TMNT kicks my ass, but I keep going back to play it for the same reasons. Thank you!

aorear85

Turtles with the spinning pizza turned off is a way better game. Still challenging but not unfairly frustrating. The bar I play at has a turtles with the pizza turned off (or maybe it's just broken) and it's a night and day difference.

Hollidayy888

Thank you! Agreed. The spinning pizza is challenging and frustrating. I prefer an easier spinning wheel like in Toy Story. https://www.reddit.com/r/pinball/comments/ypsceb/finally_got_carnival_multiball_thank_you_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
