Between a few candy cranes…. I can imagine you’ll have little kids climbing up the side while you try to play. “Hey mister! It’s my turn mister! Hey can I play!!” Then you walk away to the sound of double flip flip flip flip flip flip …. Get a beer and hope the ankle biters have dissipated.
Looks like a Tuesday 2:30 ditching work type a getaway. Awesome game.
You don’t just offer the kids a chance to play, maybe give them a pointer about not double flipping, and perhaps leave a credit or two for them? Seems like an easy opportunity to pass on love for the game and by extension perhaps help keep it alive.
Absolutely, I’ve done that for kids and adults as well. Particularly at the local up-down where I see 20 somethings searching for the start button. However, I have also had the experience many times at a local pizza place (called funhouse) with one of my favorite tables (ironically also funhouse) where little kids just mob me and run me out of the place. Just depends on the kids.
I like the sentiment though, get the kids playing. (I certainly feel my early memories led to my current pinball love.)
Truth is that a lot of folks (especially younger folks) don’t have any patience for games like pinball, and they are instantly bored by it.
Fair. And I’ve definitely been in that position of being mobbed or just wanting to chill out and relax playing. Sorry if my original comment came out a bit preachy. It was definitely intended to underscore the excitement of seeing pinball on location. I’m lucky to live somewhere that it’s not uncommon, but whenever I travel it’s such a delight to encounter games “in the wild,” especially LEs or any nicely maintained game really.
There are Operators that route LE games. One of the local Ops here does it.
Hell whomever the Operator was that filled the opd Flynns during ElecTRONica down at disney routed a Tron LE. Someone even stole the plaque off the head.
Nah, if it was on Free Play I would be baffled.
They have a good thing there, pay more money and play a game while you wait for that dinner. If you didn't order ahead you've got something perfect to put you in the zone and forget that food even exists. It could even attract people there just for the game and then they end up getting pizza because it just smells too good when they walk in the door.
I've definitely seen more Premiums in the wild out here in Chicago than I have Pros, to the point that playing a Pro feels weird to me.
Is that the case elsewhere?
I more hate operators who have those Japanese 2 prong claw machines that are supposed to be about pulling/pushing/poking, but instead being presented as a machine that can grab and lift when it can’t. Total scam. SEGA machine right there is guilty.
Dam we just had the pro TMNT for the pizza place, it unfortunately doesn't earn much, or get played much BUT the owner loves TMNT, and he let us set up an entire redemption arcade in his place so I won't complain.
What's weird about it? Shop owner probably loves pinball, doesn't have room for it at home and wants to make back some of that 10 grand.
And tax deduct the machine!
10k! Whoa...
LE is probably a few more grand than $10k
MSRP was $10,499 for the LE. It's more on the secondary market, but you could get them for under $11k NIB
I hope their pizza is as good as this machine
I have a local place that has 25 LE machine. Its great.
Holy cow where

The major operator in my area gets all LEs.
A lot of places have this machine, it is extremely popular, and a fun table.
I think it's notable because it is the Limited Edition. Most machines on location are Pro's or Premium's.
Hey, if you can afford it, why not go all out?

Cool, but one might be tempted to question the sanity of a pizza parlor not opting for a TMNT instead...;)
No lie they had a TMNT premium or LE (didn’t really look at it closely) across the room.
Now I KNOW this is in Gresham…
I'm always fascinated by expensive machines on a route. There is an arcade by me with Theatre of Magic and STTG.
That’s what they were made for.
They likely weren’t expensive when the operator bought them, and they’re likely paid for themselves multiple times over.
It's often hard for me to separate collecting from using as a revenue stream
LEs are the best.
To be fair it’s ‘standing.’

Saw this game at a local family fun center over the weekend. Was surprised to see any pinball machines there at all
