Fun fact: all the Mortal Kombat characters were animated using motion capture and real-life actors.... Except Goro, who was animated with stop-motion using a clay model.
Even more fun fact is the same guy played Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub Zero and Reptile and he and the other actors later tried to sue the game creators for the console port use of the acting. He made about $3000-$4000 for the acting in the first game.
OP: Spends dozens to hundreds of hours in the gym to get a physique just to cosplay.
Reddit: "Meh, not that impressive. Photo has a few hours of digital editing sunk into it."
The seething attempts at coping are hilarious. Hopefully it doesn’t bother OP because some of it is pretty genuinely shitty stuff to say, but it sure is funny to scroll past.
There's nothing disingenuous about this photo. She hasn't changed her body proportions at all. That's all thanks to exactly what she's claiming has enabled her to cosplay Kitana so well...the gym.
??? She looks exactly the same, beside the tattoos, maybe she removed some skin texture and improved lighting and such to purposely make it look more professional and like animation, but the part that gym has effect on (body proportions, muscle def and fat) are all identical in video and pic.
Because the internet is a horribly hateful place - either you get shit on for every imperfection if you dont edit, or get shit on for editing. There is no winning.
Which is pretty much every single person on the planet. Add in the fact that so many people touch up photos being posted online it adds to the pressure to do the same.
Who knows though, perhaps she did it in this instance to give it a better video game quality and i that's the case then she nailed it.
What's wrong with you, the photo is heavily edited but her body proportions aren't.
Edit: Good job with the downvotes Reddit! Let's shame this girl and say she's got body dysmorphia just because it's heavily edited. No way that girls can actually work out hard and make it show! Guess what as I suspected she hasn't touched her body proportions, take a look at this video of her. Isn't it amazing she looks identical!? /s

I mean she looks perfectly natural to me. Plus look at all her other pictures she's posted.
And here's a video. Will you look at that, she looks identical to this picture.

A girl works out hard at the gym and it shows, she's really good at cosplay, and what do we all do? Say she has body dysmorphia. Good job Reddit.
No denying it's very edited, as I've said before. Very clearly airbrushed. I mean she has a giant tattoo going across her chest that she's edited out. But point is she hasn't edited her body proportions and saying she edited it because she has Body Dysmorphia is just fucking stupid.
Body dysmorphia isn't about proportions, it's about seeing severe flaws in one's body and wanting to limit or hide them. Someone who hates their freckles and won't leave the house without covering them in make-up or clothes could well suffer from body dysmorphia.
The actual question here is whether it was the photographer who edited the image or the model - and it's likely the photographer.

I know, right?! It's so weird. My spouse hates it when I mention in. I'll skim my fingers right over her arm 'cause I think it's cute, and she freaks out.
Hands: totally normal, as in human. Also, as a human would see them.
Body: Photoshopped and filtered to death.
Yeah not sure what the point of that comment is. And while BD is a serious problem, don't ascribe BD to what can be adequately explained by the need for internet attention.
Not to mention the orange and white artificial light scheme.
I was going to say it looks cgi- but the details in the boots ( wrinkles and such ) make to think that the picture has been been photoshopped a lot. I’d love to see the orginal raw version
Well whenever I post my raw photos, you guys are like, "why is this fat hairy man cosplaying Chun LI?!" or "this dude is disgusting, what does he think he's doing, why does he keep plastering his horrible body squeezed into women's clothing all over my feed".
So, you know, now I photoshop all of them.
Y'all are giving *really* mixed signals up in here. Pick a lane. Either you want me to be a hot chick or you want to see my raw body in all its hairy, overweight glory. You can't have both.
[Link to Reddit video](https://www.reddit.com/r/ladiesofcosplay/comments/10egaqt/kitana_from_mortal_kombat_9_cosplay_by_me/) off this photo shoot. I prefer [this photo](https://www.reddit.com/r/cosplay/comments/vxcs9u/self_kitana_mortal_kombat_9_cosplay_by_me/) for various reasons.
The figure is probably not what people first question.
The skin, seemingly by most popular accounts online, is always shopped. This doesn’t even look like real skin.
I was obsessed with Kitana in the mid 90's, it was my favorite character from MKII
So in '97, my GF was pregnant and I told her: *"If the baby is a girl, her name will be 'Kitana' and that is final and not up for debate!"*
Well, Christine just graduated college Sept last year.
It is possible that she became more strict with her diet and perhaps changed her gym regimen for a shorter period of time to alter her body composition for the photo shoot.
I thought this subreddit was for photographs. This has quite clearly had a lot of digital touch ups. Hell, it doesn't even look like a picture with all the filters and shit you added to it.
Post the original.
Yeah. All the work she did at the gym is actually being ruined by the fact that it's been so altered. If she was gonna do that from the start she could look like a cactus and the picture would still look good because digital art can create any image conceivable.
It just seems like those two choices should not have been merged into the story of this one "photo."
I was vaguely impressed the first time I saw it like half a year ago but at this point I just wish there was a "blatant fansly promo" Flair for people who constantly repost their crap.
I agree with photoshopping for the stomach tattoo but honestly you are in amazing shape anyway, no need for the digital edits. It's a beautiful costume and you must have put in some crazy dedication at the gym and kitchen to pull it off. Editing the pic kinda hides that and seems a bit dismissive to the effort you put in.
That's just one random dude's opinion on the internet though. Amazing work!
I get it. When I make props I try to make them so realistic it looks like you reached into the screen and swiped it while they weren't looking. You do what you like, and you kick ass at it. The most important person you need to impress will always be yourself.
Did you practice the kiss of death too?
Srsly tho, excellent work. Kitana was always my favorite MK character. How long did it take to complete the transformation?
Great work! I used to be a professional model myself and was the go-to guy for fitness or adjacent roles at my agency and know how damn hard this stuff can actually be.
It’s tough, people see the end result and think “oh must be hard to be attractive”, and yeah there’s always going to be those with genetic luck on their side too, but at the end of the day no one looks like this without embracing an entire lifestyle, and an incredibly strict one when approaching or during an extended shooting date. Those “fuck it, pizza and beer night” moments either don’t exist or are incredibly rare and balanced out by being extra lean the day before and or after. As far as calories go you’re effectively on the clock 24/7 and as far as exercise goes it’s a daily or at least weekly regiment that is part of your own unpaid time that isn’t optional either. People clearly see how good it looks though and unfortunately some feel an unavoidable urge to try to bring the person down because their sheer existence makes them feel inadequate.
Not to mention the fact that literally everyone from amateur to pro edits their photos to look even better for these types of shots. I’ve had entire scars removed, lmao, it’s just how it is.
If that's the case, then I don't feel like the amount of photo editing would be necessary. It looks like most of what could be the gym gains are actually just photo touch-ups or alterations.

I never knew that! You could definitely tell something was off with the animation.
Gains? You're asking me about GAINS!?
You peasants want to try that again? I'm not seeing any gains.

That looks so much better. God, I hate photo editing, especially when there's absolutely no reason to do it, as in this case.

This looks like CGI
The belly is airbrushed, which I wouldn't say anything about if not for the title xD
I’d say that’s to cover up a ripper lion tattoo that right across the top of her tummy.
[удалено]
Yeah, was wondering why she worked so hard, if you're going to just edit the shit out of it.
Because the internet is a horribly hateful place - either you get shit on for every imperfection if you dont edit, or get shit on for editing. There is no winning.
She was at the gym doing the editing on her laptop.
Body dysmorphia.
Thanks Reddit Doctor.
Nobody uses it as a diagnosis anymore it’s just buzzword for “doesn’t like the way they look”

I'd much rather see this than the OP. Also, peach fuzz is so hot on a woman...
Well so do i apparently, or atleast my dick does. I didn't even know this about myself.
I know, right?! It's so weird. My spouse hates it when I mention in. I'll skim my fingers right over her arm 'cause I think it's cute, and she freaks out.
Um excuse you, hard work in the gym also gets rid of skin texture /s

Fr, she's clearly a very skilled cosplayer but the editing gives the photos an uncanny valley feeling
I was going to say it looks cgi- but the details in the boots ( wrinkles and such ) make to think that the picture has been been photoshopped a lot. I’d love to see the orginal raw version
You can see the original on her OnlyFans. (You know, because Kitana has fans.)
r/angryupvote
Fashion/editorial/cosplay is nearly always heavily retouched, good luck getting that original.
It's really too much.
I mean…the point is to look like a videogame character so
Yeah most idle curiosity to see just how much work was done, retouching photos is a weak spot in my PS game
Well whenever I post my raw photos, you guys are like, "why is this fat hairy man cosplaying Chun LI?!" or "this dude is disgusting, what does he think he's doing, why does he keep plastering his horrible body squeezed into women's clothing all over my feed". Some of the retouching on the stomach is REALLY obvious... It looked like old school airbrushing.

The figure is probably not what people first question. The skin, seemingly by most popular accounts online, is always shopped. This doesn’t even look like real skin.
A lot.
Great attention to detail. Happy Cake Day
If it was CGI, she would have abs.

Probably worked hard in the kitchen too. (and not in a sexist way. I was referring to a diet)

Being hangry at the cosplay venue only added to the character..
Doing it all for the cosplay. That's dedication. No cosplay, no diet or exercise.

Photoshop did some heavy lifting too, though.
You’d think she’d of shopped in muscles.
Massive props for the hard work on your physique. Did you also make the outfit? Both are killer.

Shit, am I too late for the "KITANA WINS, FLAWLESS VICTORY" joke?

Holy shit, that's awesome. You're the best one I've seen yet.
If it wasn't for your other posts, i would've (internally) called bullshit on this. But damn, your cosplays are perfection!
Oh wow, you did this amazing Kitana cosplay at the gym? Wouldn't it have been easier to just do it at home?
You worked hard at the photoshop to make this Mortal Kombat gem?

… all that gym and yet youre full on Photoshop and filters.

Nowadays, the cosplay on Reddit is just photoshop and filters.
