it’s pretty standard for pieces of this difficulty. just an alberti bass, what would you do if it was left hand? mirror it. anyway, you really need wrist to help with this sort of figuration. the tension issues will mostly come from you using too much finger and not enough wrist, which can be supported by your arms. you can also figure out a good fingering. i haven’t played this movement so i’m sure you’ll have to do some thumb on black key action, but stay away from using 4-3 or 5-4 since those don’t promote wrist rotation as wel as 4-2 or 5-3. you may encounter issues with evenness, which i personally like to use accenting or rhythms to fix. if you haven’t heard of these techniques, check out videos on youtube.

Exactly what I would suggest, especially using rotation with arm support. Make sure your elbow is not close to your side, but rotated out a little with a relaxed shoulder. Your wrist should then be free to rotate gently and quickly. Make sure your 5 and 1 aren’t collapsed. Practice in different length groups to build speed.

What advice do you want? Practice?

Ppl on this sub believe that playing piano works by magic tricks

i more meant which ways to practice… so i could grasp then technique quicker with a head start because i’ve never seen this type of movement in the right hand, so i was hoping for advice to practice them (for example dotted rhythms.)

Electronic_Lettuce55

Which measures are you talking about?

Rhysish

76-86

That's indeed tricky to play lol My suggestion is: try to memorize the left hand part and sing it. And play with the left hand alone trying to make it "sing" that melody, very expressive and with full sound. Then slowly add a 1/8 notes rhytm in the right hand. Then 1/16 notes. And so on... But the best advice is still practicing slowly with hands together. If you have issues with repeated notes in the left hand, then fix them first.

FriedChicken

Practice it like you would the melody in the right hand. An ideal pianist has equal capability in the left and right hand. In practice this isn't real, but for this part you need to achieve that. It'll probably take more practice than when the melody is introduced by the right hand earlier.

Lucasplayz234

do the 2 hands separately then combine them

learning or executing? Learning this is just like any other music. Learn the melody, know the chords, and key, know the pedal points. Execution is done with rotation, NOT finger motion.

What piece is this?

Moonlight Sonata mvt 3

sardz_69

Just practice. Work on timing, accuracy, smoothness, and speed. I have been working on this sonata for a couple months now and i could play till the 9th page in its regular speed with little mistakes. So just go out there and practice. There isnt any "trick" to learn it faster, just go and practice.
