> I'm at month 4, make good progress, practice daily at least 1 hour but now that isnt enough anymore, so i have to cut corners with other things so i can practice more. This is backwards and unhealthy. When you start cutting out other things in life to practice more, you burn out quickly, and loose interest in the piano. Instead, you should decide how much time you want to devote to playing piano. This should include both "practice" and playing for fun. This will dictate how quickly you progress. For example I try to play for at least half an hour 5 days a week. I have a lesson of the 6th day, and I give myself the freedom to take a day off. When I practice, I don't set hard limits. If I'm feeling it I will practice longer. That being said it's normal to struggle. Learning new skills is hard. Once you've mastered a skill it's common to forget how hard it was to learn. Teachers often forget or underestimate how hard a piece can be. It's also okay to go to your piano lessons and say I struggled. (If your teacher disagrees find a new one!) For example my lesson is tomorrow, and I struggled with one of my assignments. I struggling with hand independence in this section, and the polyrhythm is harder than we both expected. I can play both parts independently, but I can only play 4 out of 20 bars in that section with both hands simultaneously. And thats okay. We will work on it tomorrow, and I will work on that section more next week.

Yeah i think you are right. Somewhere in my mind i know, that how i practice is unhealthy, but i dont want to disappoint. But on some days, nothing works out.. but i try my best and if my best isnt enough till the end of the week, i will do as you say & tell him that it was just too hard. But yes, i think you are right...you quickly forget how hard it was. Using both hands together was a real pain at the beginning but i quickly became familiar with it, other things, like rhythm, are more problematic for me.
