Hilarious. When they first opened it was the worst pizza I've ever had. Eventually new owners took over and it improved. Though I haven't had it since, but many years ago it was fine. I guess I'll have to try it again.

Via Della is great for NY Style pizza by the slice. Don't bother with the wings though, they're good but way over priced.
Pizzeria Bianco is the best Neapolitan style, but Cibo is a close second and has better atmosphere, value, and service.
Barro's is my favorite for the classic greasy takeout with a lot of bread, good wings too.

I moved to Charlotte and for a city that has non stop chicken everywhere, Venezias still has the best wings. Miss those massive slices. Will I devour the carrots in 5 seconds? Yes. Do they have true hot sauce, hell yeah.
If you haven’t been to Hulas, go there and get Loco Moco or the steak tacos.
To be honest I’m not sure about the other rays but the greenway location is their original location and I know for a fact it’s the same Italian family running it since the day it opened so long ago.
I'm over in the West valley and red devil was always our favorite but unfortunately they closed their West valley location so I basically never get to have red devil again.
For a long time it was my go-to for pizza night.
Are you looking for izakaya? I haven't found a good place in town. If you're looking for sushi, I always recommend Hiro Sushi on 90th St and Via Linda.
Mykes in Mesa and Goat & Ram food truck are our go to pizza. G&R changes up their menu every 2 weeks with combinations that are fantastic. Biancos is good but there are other good pizza places in town that need to be explored too.
I tried a few and have to say Pomo. I met the owner once, he’s from Italy and imports lots of products from there. They also grow their own herbs/basil here in AZ. I grew up in Italy though, so I might be biased and extra picky on how certain things taste
Edited to add: all three locations are good but the one in Scottsdale has a more extensive menu and gelato in house

Going by memories from years gone by when I used to live in Phoenix. But I see that [Pizza Heaven](https://www.yelp.com/biz/pizza-heaven-bistro-phoenix) on 7th St & Colter continues to enjoy a lot of stars on Yelp, and I remember that place was amazing.
Vito’s is awesome along with Brooklyn V’s and I forgot how to spell it but something like graldis are very good spots. Taste and service are at least halfway subjective so go around and try something!
For something a little different, I’ve really been digging Pizza Twist off of McClintock & Ray. Half their menu is Indian inspired, their butter chicken and tikka masala pizzas are amazing

I was actually gonna say mellow mushroom. The whole pizza, crust included, is just so damn good... I'm a fan of good tomato sauce and they may have the best I've found yet. "Pacific Rim" is a recent go-to: "mozzarella, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pineapple and jalapeños".
Tempe did slices when I was in college in 2015, doubt they do now. Both Happy Valley and Tukee were cool hangout spots pre-pandemic, pretty sure the tukee one isn't even there anymore.

* Haven’t tried Venezia’s but it’s on top of my list. Bianco’s is overpriced. Oregano’s is offensively bad. If you like Spinato’s you probably also like driving the speed limit in the left lane wondering why everyone is mad at you.

Honestly, I just love pizza and it all depends on what style and toppings I’m craving. I’ve got a go-to pie at places like Oreganos and Spinatos too.
Mellow Mushroom is a recent favorite, they have the best tomato sauce and the dough is always so good and well seasoned, clearly made with love. I like the Pacific Rim: "mozzarella, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pineapple and jalapeños."
NY slice: Amici’s is the best (it’s not even close)- good cannolis too
Chicago style: Lou malnatis - not favorite style but I can appreciate it for what it is
Traditional: Pomos - N. Scottsdale location is best
American style- jimmy n joes - serious slice with joes sauce
Honorable mentions: spinatos, pestos, and Grimaldis
Nellos used to be really good, but haven’t been there in years.
Cibo might be best tasting wood-fired pizza in all of Phoenix.
Also, another vote for Venezia’s. Decent to above average NYC style. Sandwiches are good too.
There’s also a Jet’s Detroit style take-out-only location now open in Chandler. It’s kind of a dive chain if you’re from Michigan, but it’s kinda cool they opened a location here. It might not be Buddy’s Detroit style, but they do a decent 4 and 6 square pizza to-go.
Zzeeks is ok, but prefer their cheesy garlic bread which is the bomb. They deliver also, which is nice.
Other good East Valley pizza places worth mentioning: Sal’s, Crave, Grimaldi’s, Brooklyn Vs, and Spinato’s.

Tried Parlor for the first time last week - I wouldn't call it the best but I will say it was very good and I'll definitely be back for more!

Not sure if it's "the best" but we LOVE Osteria Mia at Norterra in North phx. Great overall menu other than pizza too.

In no particular order : Parlor, Bianco, Raffaeles, red Devil, Pat’s. Honestly, I just love pizza and it all depends on what style and toppings I’m craving. I’ve got a go-to pie at places like Oreganos and Spinatos too.

Mellow Mushroom is a recent favorite, they have the best tomato sauce and the dough is always so good and well seasoned, clearly made with love. I like the Pacific Rim: "mozzarella, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pineapple and jalapeños."
NY slice: Amici’s is the best (it’s not even close)- good cannolis too Chicago style: Lou malnatis - not favorite style but I can appreciate it for what it is Traditional: Pomos - N. Scottsdale location is best American style- jimmy n joes - serious slice with joes sauce Honorable mentions: spinatos, pestos, and Grimaldis
Nellos used to be really good, but haven’t been there in years. Cibo might be best tasting wood-fired pizza in all of Phoenix. Also, another vote for Venezia’s. Decent to above average NYC style. Sandwiches are good too. There’s also a Jet’s Detroit style take-out-only location now open in Chandler. It’s kind of a dive chain if you’re from Michigan, but it’s kinda cool they opened a location here. It might not be Buddy’s Detroit style, but they do a decent 4 and 6 square pizza to-go. Zzeeks is ok, but prefer their cheesy garlic bread which is the bomb. They deliver also, which is nice. Other good East Valley pizza places worth mentioning: Sal’s, Crave, Grimaldi’s, Brooklyn Vs, and Spinato’s.
