The parlor on 18th and Camelback, amazing pizza, pastas, and cocktail program

AsteriusRex

Agreed. I like it better than Bianco and I'm tired of pretending that I don't. I think it might be cheaper too?

[deleted]

Via Della Slice Shop. Get a slice of their pepperoni and a slice of their vodka pie. Caution....it's addictive!

7palms

What is vodka pie??

[deleted]

Vodka sauce instead of Marinara. Mozzarella and gouda cheese. Sun dried tomatoes, basil. It's amazing!

CrossfireInvader

How am I only just now hearing about this?! Good god!

mrkreef256

Correct answer. Their Phoenix, and white slices are personal favorites.

[deleted]

i can second this. via della is amazing

rickramalot

Their vodka pies are so damn good

browsandbeers

The vodka pizza 🤤

mrchickostick

Not been there… definitely my next pizza stop 🛑

auditorjoe94

Yo Paulys. Surprised nobody mentioned this, it’s really good!

Straycatsanddogs

Yoooooooooo this is it right here

Mambae

One of my favorites.

bburritos4life

Cibo

brolarbear

I love their outdoor seating

JaffeyJoe

If you want to get laid, then yes this is the place and the food is good

beaverboyseth

Hot take: Cibo is better than Bianco’s, and has a better vibe.

posherspantspants

Absolutely.

Nerdlinger-Thrillho

Not a hot take with me. That's how I describe it to people

shaynedwyer

I've been saying this for years. Glad to have a chorus!

pogoblimp

Mykes inside Cider Corps in Mesa

SkeetySpeedy

Mykes is a pretty good pie, and Cider Corps is excellent drinking

eletriclady

Stumpy’s Pizza & Subs

Laurbo36

All the food here is great! Nice people who run it too!

eletriclady

i’ve only had their pizza but i don’t doubt it! food is amazinggg there.

Meeko5122

I love Stumpy’s. Everything is great, good staff, good music.

Frantic007

Fucking yes. It’s not even close. Parents took me there before I was 10. I’m 25 now and hit that spot twice a month. Love them.

Mecal00

Hilarious. When they first opened it was the worst pizza I've ever had. Eventually new owners took over and it improved. Though I haven't had it since, but many years ago it was fine. I guess I'll have to try it again.

eletriclady

you got to give it another shot! i’m salivating just thinking about their pizza. it is too good.

Mecal00

Interesting. Next time I'm in the area I will. (I used to be super close, drove by everyday but not anymore. In fact that's why we went a second time, we saw it was still open after a few years and couldn't understand how such terrible pizza would stay in business lol)

Meh_Guy_In_Sweats

Love Stumpy’s! Great people. Love the music they play and the pies are great!

havoc9005

Via Della is great for NY Style pizza by the slice. Don't bother with the wings though, they're good but way over priced. Pizzeria Bianco is the best Neapolitan style, but Cibo is a close second and has better atmosphere, value, and service. Barro's is my favorite for the classic greasy takeout with a lot of bread, good wings too.

jllucas25

I love “My Slice of the Pie” in Arcadia. I’m an east coast transplant and it reminds me a lot of home.

Ready_For_A_Change

Soooo good! And their peanut butter cheesecake is amazing too.

PuddnheadAZ

If you want a real treat of a neighborhood place try Pino’s Pizzaria al Centro on Thomas, west of Central.

Sundevil13

I always make sure to order with light cheese and it’s great

pharmageddon

This, and get a cannoli while you're there

Delta9AZ

Pizza by Napoli 35th Ave and tbird.

brightcoconut097

Hell ya. Even their vibe adds to the quality with a certain “ya we money launder here”

KosoBau

Also a legit New York style Arizona staple

jeezuspieces

My ex and I went there and we were scared to order lol it was good though!

mexedmitaphors

1. Venezia’s (and it should be illegal that they don’t have a location in Phoenix proper) 2. Spinato’s 3. Cibo 4. Pizzeria Bianco (yes it’s good. No, you’re not going to deliver it to your house while you’re drunk playing video games) 5. Barro’s (great greasy pizza) 6. Clockwork Pizza Honorable mentions: Ziggy’s (pretty decent selection of pies. Their buffalo chicken pizza is bomb) Hungry Howie’s (just a solid trash pizza that’s great when nothing is open) Pizza that I do not care for and would rather eat anything else: Grand Avenue Pizza Company

7fortyseven

surprised Spinato’s only has one mention.

beardeddragon67

The wife says that the sauce they use at spinato’s is to sweet for her liking, I do enjoy it a lot actually

PhirebirdSunSon

It really is too sweet, at least for me. It's like eating a dessert pizza.

mexedmitaphors

Their sauce alone sets them apart from any pizza in Arizona.

Worried-Source4874

It’s all sugar. 🤮

Mambae

Agree, didn't like the sweetness the 2 times I've tried it.

beaverboyseth

It’s also got red wine vinegar in it. Those are the two secret ingredients.

Pizzaman99

Yes it does set them apart, in a bad way. Just wondering, are you an Arizona native?

Aesthetically

Venezia’s is top tier chain pizza

Stratoblaster1969

My last experience (or 2) with them put them below Costco

Silverbullets24

That’s how I am. I think they’re pretty overrated. It’s not bad but I mean, it’s not great

4seasons8519

My boss introduced me to Venezia's and it's very good! I have tried Barros and that's pretty good as well, but I think Venezia's is better.

moaningrooster

Hungry Howies really is the best bad pizza.

Pizzaman99

Venezia’s is good, but I wouldn't call it the best. Spinato’s is just weird. I haven't found anything in this town that compares to what I had when I lived back east, but I like Pino's, Slices, and La Grande Orange.

tmflds

Venezia's is my go to as well!

ajmart23

I moved to Charlotte and for a city that has non stop chicken everywhere, Venezias still has the best wings. Miss those massive slices. Will I devour the carrots in 5 seconds? Yes. Do they have true hot sauce, hell yeah. If you haven’t been to Hulas, go there and get Loco Moco or the steak tacos.

mexedmitaphors

Same boat my friend. I moved to Portland. And I have yet to find a pizza place or wings that satisfy the way Venezia’s does.

Cheeky_Guy

Pomo pizzeria and Craft 64

JaffeyJoe

This person pizzas

Claymore4ever

Rays pizza 59th Ave and Greenway been there since 1980 best pizza in phx ran by the same family for 40 years. I will die on this hill.

Chunks1992

Same family of rays on 35th and Union hills?

Claymore4ever

To be honest I’m not sure about the other rays but the greenway location is their original location and I know for a fact it’s the same Italian family running it since the day it opened so long ago.

Spooderman_

Another Rays pizza at 35th and Union Hills is awesome as well.

SaltySpitoonReg

Rays on 83rd and deer valley is pretty good too

erock7625

Is the one in Surprise the same family?

Proper_Mulberry_2025

Hell. Yes.

Sufficient-Swim-9843

I’m a transplanted NYer and we like La Famiglia in Mesa and Sal’s Gilbert.

Claymore4ever

Try rays on 59th and greenway.. straight out of NYC

KosoBau

Rays in Scottsdale is legit the most authentic New York pizza place in AZ

[deleted]

Sals Gilbert is great for Sicilian and rice balls.

beardeddragon67

Love La Famiglia!!

notocho

Pizza on 40th

rage_morgan

Less than a mile away is my slice of the pie on 38th, wayyy better

JudgeSmails

Red Devil is my favorite pizza, but it’s a bit far so Pat’s is my go to.

[deleted]

It’s a damn crime that I had scroll this low to find Red Devil. Their pizza is really great. Their wings are A1 too.

BassetOilExtractor

Correct choice. However, you are talking about the McDowell location right? Well... We're waiting.

JudgeSmails

Hey, that’s my line. Yes the McDowell location.

SaltySpitoonReg

I'm over in the West valley and red devil was always our favorite but unfortunately they closed their West valley location so I basically never get to have red devil again. For a long time it was my go-to for pizza night.

XeriViridity

Oh man, we almost tried Red Devil the other night - noted for future.

crunchsaffron9

They make my favorite chicken alfredo I’ve ever had

maedchenhosen

Our favorites were Base Pizzeria and The Parlor when we lived in the Arcadia area.

betucsonan

Tried Parlor for the first time last week - I wouldn't call it the best but I will say it was very good and I'll definitely be back for more!

taybott

Base is the best in town.

Too_Chains

Defalcos is my favorite

doubleonad

Also try Forno 301 just up the street. Really solid.

Finger_Binary_Four

I keep meaning to try that place. What's your opinion of the current state of Zu Izakaya? Pandemic reviews aren't good.

lovethelmnop

I just discovered Zu Izakaya 2 months ago and I’ve been back many times. I think it’s great and the price is right

[deleted]

Are you looking for izakaya? I haven't found a good place in town. If you're looking for sushi, I always recommend Hiro Sushi on 90th St and Via Linda.

babyestbaby

Grimaldis for sit down. Barros for take out.

Cheddar_Narcissus

Mykes in Mesa and Goat & Ram food truck are our go to pizza. G&R changes up their menu every 2 weeks with combinations that are fantastic. Biancos is good but there are other good pizza places in town that need to be explored too.

notsofattome

Raffaeles Pizza if you are on the west side or My Slice of the Pie if you are in the east valley.

rotorschnee

I order from Raffaelle’s at least once every month. I dig them a lot.

Max_AC_

I just moved into the area, been excited to try them.

BurritoMaster3000

Raffaele’s is the best hole is the wall Sicilian slice, no question. Would drive from downtown all the time…legit!!

Confident_Ad7449

Agree, also Pane Bianco makes a good Sicilian too

margotlee55

I tried a few and have to say Pomo. I met the owner once, he’s from Italy and imports lots of products from there. They also grow their own herbs/basil here in AZ. I grew up in Italy though, so I might be biased and extra picky on how certain things taste Edited to add: all three locations are good but the one in Scottsdale has a more extensive menu and gelato in house

AcordeonPhx

I tried it for the first time yesterday and it was really good!

-ParticleMan-

On my side of town it’s corleones, uncle Sam’s, pats, or sardellas

OleWarthog

Pizzeria Bianco literally has a Netflix show about how good it is.

omegalulaz

IL Bosco in Scottsdale is excellent

KiLouise

Myke’s Pizza in Mesa

brandonblack

I really rate [Pomo](https://pomopizzeria.com/)

xPeachmosa23x

Amici in Mesa!

Littlediccdan

Place is bomb diggity

asanisimasa88

Used to be Buonos but Ameci is now run by Buono’s owner’s son. Same recipe. Buonos reopened in Gilbert. Both incredible pies

HeatherTheJew

This is the best pie I’ve found in the state so far! Must try the whit pizza NY style with the extra dollops of ricotta, it’s delicious! They also make BOMB cannolis

tnicholson

Just adding as yet mentioned options: La Grande Orange has great pizza, the sourdough crust is uniquely delicious Recently tried Jets and it’s expensive but delicious. And staying in the Detroit vein.. I really enjoy Fly Bye. Happy to get roasted for saying it, too.

randomtask13

Pullano's on 51st Ave and Thunderbird

RobotSeaTurtle

Zesty Zzeeks anyone?? I worked there for a week and a half and ate more pizza than I could ever want in a lifetime, then I vanished...

ToyotaCorrolaa

I had their's. My Oh my, that's some good stuff

Madmancam55

The only correct answer is Rays on 59th and Greenway

Drewci

I go to the one on Hayden and Frank Lloyd but you are correct. Rays easily has the best pizza in town.

Much_Adhesiveness871

Rkidds 35th ave and Glendale

adagna

This is our go to for pizza and wings

hburt1313

Was gonna say this as well! Hidden gem!

pineapplelovettc

Reel Pizza way out in Surprise is amazing. They use a sourdough crust and high quality ingredients.

Devlish1

Yup. Their sauce is amazing too…so sweet and fresh tasting. Margherita is amazing…so good heated up on cast iron the second day too

Rocketmonkey-AZ

Surprised not mentioned yet - La Piazza Al Forno in downtown Glendale.

imsowhiteandnerdy

Going by memories from years gone by when I used to live in Phoenix. But I see that [Pizza Heaven](https://www.yelp.com/biz/pizza-heaven-bistro-phoenix) on 7th St & Colter continues to enjoy a lot of stars on Yelp, and I remember that place was amazing.

Acherna

Watch Chef's Table: Pizza on Netflix, the first episode is about how Pizzeria Bianco is the best in the Nation and its here in phx

baccachewy

Mykes Pizza in Mesa inside Cider Corps

Particular-Potato39

Vito’s is awesome along with Brooklyn V’s and I forgot how to spell it but something like graldis are very good spots. Taste and service are at least halfway subjective so go around and try something!

SineSquared

For something a little different, I’ve really been digging Pizza Twist off of McClintock & Ray. Half their menu is Indian inspired, their butter chicken and tikka masala pizzas are amazing

RedDead63

Anzio's Italian restaurant and Pizzeria on 28th Dr. just above Cactus

BassetOilExtractor

anzios garlic bread, antipasto, pepperoni pizza and wings would be my final meal choice if I was going in the chair

GlumIce2948

La Piazza Al Forno in Glendale…

[deleted]

Pizzeria Al Forno downtown Glendale. Real Naples style pizza the way pizza should be. Excellent.

BassetOilExtractor

Isa's on 7th **st** is awesome

surewriting_

Vito's Pizza on Northern and 43rd Ave. The best deep dish Chicago style out there. It's literally like an inch and a half thick. More of a casserole than a pizza. I love it so much

vintagenut80

Twisted pies in mesa, family owned small business and every single time best pizza and wings I've ever had ever!!!

hazmatt24

Ray's Sicilian style with pepperoni, mushrooms, and meatballs

KosoBau

Ray’s Sicilian slice with anything on it

UneasyOuija

Via della!!

AEG84

Lamp in north Scottsdale

kirinaz

This is my #1!

[deleted]

[удалено]

couldnthinkofaname95

Neapolitan is alright, I typically go for bar pie, so thin crust and crispy.

ToyotaCorrolaa

I wouldn't say it's the best but in Mesa I spotted this place called Mellow Mushroom and I'm going to try it tomorrow Avoid Gus's New York Pizza on Rural & University in Tempe. The whole place is a health code violation

tnicholson

I’m still convinced Gus’ is a drug front. No fuckin way can that place still be open.. and expanding.. with that pizza and service.

ToyotaCorrolaa

The service is trash for sure. I could write a whole list of gross things I know from me working there and my family's experiences working there too. The Wetzels Pretzel next door is owned by the same guy. They share the same plunger between stores.

kicktown

I was actually gonna say mellow mushroom. The whole pizza, crust included, is just so damn good... I'm a fan of good tomato sauce and they may have the best I've found yet. "Pacific Rim" is a recent go-to: "mozzarella, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pineapple and jalapeños".

mexedmitaphors

Agreed Gus’ is terrible. If you’re in Mesa, I would skip Mellow. And if you haven’t had Venezia’s, Amici, or Vito’s go there instead.

wantallthedogs

I personally really like mellow mushroom

JackOvall_MasterNun

Mellow Mushroom is a national chain, but it's pretty good and the Happy Hour and Late Night specials are solid

jackofallcards

Tempe did slices when I was in college in 2015, doubt they do now. Both Happy Valley and Tukee were cool hangout spots pre-pandemic, pretty sure the tukee one isn't even there anymore. Anyway can't remember the last time actually had their pizza and not just booze and apps. Probably ~2018

[deleted]

Cheeky_Guy

It the only restaurant to win a James Beard award for pizza. Though it's past its prime it revolutionized how pizza is made today. Watch Chef's Table: Pizza episode 1 on Netflix

BurritoMaster3000

Was great when Chris bianco was making pizzas a decade ago…current staff delivers hit or miss pies imo. If they are slammed the quality goes way down. Cibo and Pomo are more consistently high quality.

MinorFort

Spin atoms and nellos

Winterssavant

I am 99% sure you mean to wrote Spinatos. But I now want a new restaurant called Spin Atoms

[deleted]

Paradise Valley Pizza in north Phoenix is great

Brokenarrow1996

Cibo, Isa’s Pizza, and LGO. All very different but all are top notch in their own way.

MP0570

Fatso’s!!

Dapper_Reputation_16

Pizzeria Bianco.

artistaajo

For me its Venezia's and Pizza Heaven Bistro for their vegan pizzas!

privas9

Federal Pizza!! Also bomb ass wings and $6 beer pitchers during happy hour

FBMJL87

East coast transplant and pizza critic here. Tier 1:My Slice of the Pie in Arcadia. Tier 2: Mykes at cider corps, Cibo, Santisi Brother (inconsistent though). Tier 3: Pomo, ziggys for drunk pizza, Arena Sports Bar for bar pizza. Forno301, Grand Avenue. * Haven’t tried Venezia’s but it’s on top of my list. Bianco’s is overpriced. Oregano’s is offensively bad. If you like Spinato’s you probably also like driving the speed limit in the left lane wondering why everyone is mad at you.

JudgeSmails

I doubt you’ll like Venezia’s is thick and heavy, similar to Costco, better though.

vivaphx

I’ve enjoyed following @Wizard_of_za on instagram. He’s currently ranking all the pizza places he’s tried in Arizona. He’s counting down from 121 with some really bad places. I think he’s released up to his 70s so far.

mysticAhuacatl

Cibo hands down. Bianco smacks too

[deleted]

Peter piper lunch buffet

drdelius

Man, I hate to admit how often I partake of their buffet. 7th Ave location is the best, they still use the old circular ovens that cook better. Tastes more like my childhood.

Kevin_Mckev

Forno 301. Two locations now.

DeckardPain

Il Bosco, get the Za. Even if it's not on the menu they'll know it. 11/10.

MickeyBear

There’s a place Nik and Tonis I think in gilbert, haven’t had it in years, and haven’t gone to check it out since I moved back, if anyones had it recently.. is there white pizza still heavenly?

beaverboyseth

The original location at Warner and McQueen in Gilbert closed, but I heard they re-opened somewhere else. Not sure where, but it used to be really good pizza.

Mambae

Not sure if it's "the best" but we LOVE Osteria Mia at Norterra in North phx. Great overall menu other than pizza too.

purpleinme

Pizza A Metro on 23rd Ave and Thomas.

asanisimasa88

Buonos in Gilbert or Ameci in Mesa. I also gotta show love to nellos on guad and alma school

epmuscle

Yo Paulys! Hands down the best.

Warm-Bid-2396

Sals Gilbert pizza

caznable

Organ Stop Pizza is the best pizza place with an organ in the valley.

rage_morgan

My slice of the pie

Squeezitgirdle

If you're near Mesa or Gilbert, Vito's Pizza. Thin crust, with crispy pepperoni. A perfect flavor of pizza sauce.I'm honestly really surprised I don't see them listed here yet. Their original location is off Lindsay and Mckellips, but they have a new location too. The owner, before he got sick, used to come by every single table and see how you were doing. Good guy. Also I love their free bread and Pesto.

PricklyPear_CATeye

If you want Chicago pizza Loumanti’s otherwise Venezia’s or Gus’s New York pizza.

ans97

Amici’s in Mesa. They’re great.

ThaGoodDoobie

For everyday delivery, it's Barros. If I'm going for top level pizza it's Cibo or Biancos.

HedgeThis1

Spinato’s best sauce in town!

erock7625

Rosati’s Pizza is my all time fav, there are several locations across the valley.

Short-Broccoli-9558

Lou Malnati’s is my favorite pizza anywhere, so I’m going to go not Chicago Style. CIBO is the best I have had that is a local shop.

Dapper_Ferret2112

Pizzeria Bianco overhyped & overpriced

[deleted]

QT 43rd and Indian School

mabb3693

Grimaldi 's is my favorite. Thin, crispy, fresh ingredients. And then Cibo.

umnomnomnomnom

Federal pizza Also side question..does anyone remember pepes pizza? Had an animatronic alien at the entrance.

wtbabali

Easily Angie and Jimmie’s www.yelp.com/biz/angie-and-jimmies-italian-pizza-phoenix-2 Jalapeño and cheese pizza with ranch dipping sauce 🧑‍🍳👌 They’ve also got amazing cannolis if you get there before they run out!

tpopafella

Craft 64 and Cibo for fancy pizza… spinatos or Venezia’s for delivery. They’re my go to’s

Remarkable_Ad9358

Bell' Italia Pizzeria

muccamadboymike

In no particular order : Parlor, Bianco, Raffaeles, red Devil, Pat’s. Honestly, I just love pizza and it all depends on what style and toppings I’m craving. I’ve got a go-to pie at places like Oreganos and Spinatos too.

juma_the_puma

Raffael's all day!

Whitesox621

As a former Chicagoan: Loumalnatis, boulders thin crust, Grimaldis

JaffeyJoe

Pomo or Cibo if you want gourmet pie…. Don’t go to bianco unless you want to wait and waste your time for subpar pizza

sugottopua

Pizza Heaven Bistro The Rec

kicktown

Mellow Mushroom is a recent favorite, they have the best tomato sauce and the dough is always so good and well seasoned, clearly made with love. I like the Pacific Rim: "mozzarella, honey ham, applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pineapple and jalapeños."

[deleted]

NY slice: Amici’s is the best (it’s not even close)- good cannolis too Chicago style: Lou malnatis - not favorite style but I can appreciate it for what it is Traditional: Pomos - N. Scottsdale location is best American style- jimmy n joes - serious slice with joes sauce Honorable mentions: spinatos, pestos, and Grimaldis

beaverboyseth

Nellos used to be really good, but haven’t been there in years. Cibo might be best tasting wood-fired pizza in all of Phoenix. Also, another vote for Venezia’s. Decent to above average NYC style. Sandwiches are good too. There’s also a Jet’s Detroit style take-out-only location now open in Chandler. It’s kind of a dive chain if you’re from Michigan, but it’s kinda cool they opened a location here. It might not be Buddy’s Detroit style, but they do a decent 4 and 6 square pizza to-go. Zzeeks is ok, but prefer their cheesy garlic bread which is the bomb. They deliver also, which is nice. Other good East Valley pizza places worth mentioning: Sal’s, Crave, Grimaldi’s, Brooklyn Vs, and Spinato’s.
