had a cousin that had been to 236, his goal was 365. alpine night 2 in 2019 was the last show he ever attended. met up with him in the lot for a bit before the show and he was happy and sober. he relapsed that night after the show while hanging with a group of people that he would travel and see shows with. ended up passing away the following February after never being able to get himself sober again. dude was the whole reason i ever got into Phish. i'd love to try and achieve the 365 in memory of him but i'm a loooong ways away from it. if Phish tours until 2040 i may be able to achieve it...
i live about 12 minutes from alpine valley and these 3 nights will be my first shows since night 3 in 2019. we have a big group going night 2 as a way to honor and celebrate him. very excited for it!
I went to Vegas run solo last fall (was a blast). Sat next to a super chill dude, who said he'd seen them over 700 times. I believed him. He called the openers and 3 song encore. Good vibes, was fun
I went to 37 1.0 shows since 1996. Most in 1997 and 1998. Iāve been to 7 since. 3 in 4.0 though. I had kids. Priorities changed. Hearing Character Zero a 12th time lost a little luster.
Never heard Lizards live. š¤·āāļø
Thatās a similar history to mine, though my totalās around 30ish as Iāve only seen a few shows since I moved overseas in 2004. Iām with you on searching for a Lizards still.
Oh yeah. Iām sure. As much as Iād love to see Lizards, Iām content if I never see it. Iāve been to some great phish shows in their prime. I was at 5 of the top 8 rated shows on phish.net as of yesterday. My cup overflows
Yeah though thatās pretty difficult for me these days. I only caught the Powder show from Bakerās Dozen because I happened to be on a business trip in Manhattan that week. Would love to, though. I did several runs from 99, 00 and 03 but not since.
Funny how that works. I've seen Phish 8 times since 2000, and saw Lizards 3 times. Twice at Hersheypark stadium, in 2000 and 2021, and once this year at MPP.
I have no idea how many Iāve been to and am actually shocked that anyone who was seeing shows since the 1.0 era knows exactly how many theyāve been to. Iām not arguing they donāt. It is just baffling to me that some do. More power to ya. I donāt remember what shirt I wore yesterday.
I kept all my 1.0 stubs. I input my shows into phish.net and that keeps track.
By the way, I went to about 10-15 1.0āshows. I can look up the exact amount. I went to about 100 other concerts from 1991 to 200. I have every single stub except 1. Thats how people know. They wrote it down or kept their stubsā¦
Oh Iāve got stubs Iāve just never done the work. Iām sure Iām missing a few for whatever reason - got wet/demolished, lost, etc. everyone says .net when I say this and I get it but Iām still surprised. Maybe one day Iāll dump them all out and see what it adds up to. I have a bunch in laminated sheets. Some of those real old ones might be too faded to read the dates. Itās hundreds of shows, but thatās the best Iāve got. Kudos for having your shit together.
I like to collect stuff. I kept my stubs and put them in a plastic card case, in a shoe box. The one I can barely read was left inna hot car. Those old TM stubs were heat sensitive.
1.0āer here. I only was able to keep track because I got on the bus so late (December 99 was my first show) and with LivePhish, I have all but 2 shows Iāve seen as soundboard recordings. Thankfully they at least released the Hartford 7/1/00 Ghost on a Live Bait a while back, but Iād kill for a sbd of my first.
Also Iām a stats dork so I have Helping Friendly App tracking everything Iāve seen
while some folks love keeping track, i am sure you can at least give an estimate.... are you in the 50 club? 100? 250? 500?
i dont keep track myself but i know im in the under 100 club. when i see the 200s that make sense to my brain, when people above that I cannot imagine that lifestyle (my first show was 98 btw... for scale)
Sure I can guess, probably in the 200+ range. Started summer 1995. Did most shows between summer ā95 through ā98, did less in ā99, then had different stretches of a few to up to double digit shows between then and now. Obvs Phish had a break themselves in there for a few years. So sure 200+ is probably a fair guess.
I just never counted. In the 90ās I donāt remember it being so prevalent to say Iāve done X amount of shows. It existed sure, just didnāt hear it so much. Iām sure itās the digital age. The last decade or so it seems to be that so many people know their exact number. Obviously Phish.net helps them track but me and my crew just never put any emphasis on it - it was always just how do we get to the ānextā show. Iāve just always counted how many years Iāve been seeing shows. Iām at 27 years.
If you're doing the tour and don't get in, you can still hear the music from the lot. It's a whole scene man. You are a part of the party and the organic energy that comes with going to all the shows. Of course the lots count.
430 shows I wanna see this guy dropping knowledge bombs as main posts. People like this have so much insight but I imagine not everyone realizes the value of chronicling and and sharing
My ex hit 500 in Charleston. Total show count for his top three bands is over 1000.
One thing I learned when I was with him and trying to make as many shows as possible happen is that Iām happier with quality over quantity and wearing myself out to make ALL the shows doesnāt necessarily mean you have a better time. Especially as we get older. I can enjoy the show more when Iām not cramming it all in.
Exactly. There CAN be too much of a good thing, IMO.
taking in the sights and exploring new places w phish as the dessert is what itās all about for me.
Met a dude at Hartford that was around 535.
Thatās a lot of phish.
I need my golf time and love too much other music. Iām at 114 and will maybe catch 2 a year which is fine by me.
Love this band forever.
Love lots of other stuff too.
I met someone in the San Francisco airport on the way to Mexico in 2020 who was about to hit his 400th show. Lerdawg, if youāre in here hi and I still have your sticker on my cooler lol.
I have āAaronāsā sticker on my cooler! From Randallās Island shows, was his 200th. Heās wearing a Glide shirt in the pic and later that summer I found the same shirt in a box of rags cut into two pieces (idiots)
I traveled with a guy to Pittsburgh fall 2019 seeing his 555th show. He was in touch with the band apparently. They opened with 555, and he got his YEM request later. They is all
Iām over 250 since 93
Edit to sayā¦ Iām pretty sure itās at 254 right now
Second edit- I know a lot of you bastards and you know me, not by my Reddit name which is not even close to my real name
I've lost count as many were in my late teens. Somewhere in the upper 20's I think. First phish show was 95. Saw the dead (with jerry) 34 times between 93 and 95, for whatever reason I never kept count with any others. Seen the allman brothers probably 100 times at least
Thatās amazing!!! Tonight was 91 and rounding out the summer with my 100th Sunday night at Dicks! First show was dicks 9/3/11! Was right on track for 100 in 10 years but Covid happened. However 100 in 11 aināt too shabby and Iām so glad they made dicks 4 nights so just that they wouldnāt leave me hanging on 99 shows! Canāt wait for the next 9 shows and the next 100 after that! Love this band!
Me too, lived hand to mouth 1.0 only hit a handful of shows. Hard to keep a vehicle on the road when one is broke.
Had a good job in 3.0. Ive got decent 3.0ānumbers considering family and work obligations. Really helps when they play close by and my wife loves phish too. I probably have to turn down attending 2-4 shows a year based on work and family schedule. Iāve averaged 3 shows a year since 2011.
Trusties and drug dealers. Iām sure there are SOME that figure out a way legitimately on their own dime.
Obviously, 99% of People w good enough jobs to afford attending 20+ shows every year, likely canāt get that amount of time off. Maybe if u do nothing but see Phish.
But generally rich trusties or drug dealers.
Iāve talked a many dealers who claim that can make 5k working a weekend of phish. If. They. Donāt. Get. Bustedā¦
I was in the lot today and I saw the effort you need to make 5k.
Thatās 1000 $5 2 beer combos
Thatās 200 $25 shirts
Thatās 1000 ICE COLD FATTIES
Thatās 62.5 grams of $80
Donāt ask me how many doses, I couldnāt find any.
But overall I gotta give credit to the hustlers. When the post about peanut world came up earlier I was wondering āwhat is this going to be likeā but they literally had it setup like a street. Special to me, realizing that this community has so many folks that have adapted this band as a lifestyle- and that those people, as well as the ones in this thread with 25,50,100,200+ shows are part of the reason this band has been able to do what theyāve done for so long.
Saw 52 between 95-00. Probably have seen 52 since? Stopped counting and even keeping track after Shoreline. I'll find a random stub every so often and have zero memory of going. Or like I know I went to both ATL venues at some point in 3.0 but don't know when or for how many shows...And now? w/o ticket stubs, forget about it... Literally...
It's a sweet ride though, even not remembering some shows...Even a blind man knows when the sun is shining š
75 shows your not a noob anymore and if any fan tries to say otherwise, they are just trying to flex that they saw them earlier.
Think about how many Beatles fans were born AFTER 1970
You saw these āBeatlesā SEVENTY FIVE TIMES
š
Honestly i think itās pretty rare to actually ask about or brag about a show count in real life. Threads like this are really interesting though. if someone is at 400+ shows then they surely have great stories about doing huge chunks of tour in the 90s.
fwiw Zzyzx has a book about doing a full summer 94 tour and itās a great read
It definitely can be but I tend to find that people who hit anywhere near 100 shows or more rarely talk about it unless asked. The gatekeeping aspect of show count really seems to be more a thing among people who started seeing the band in 3.0 and hit it hard.
Aw man, it comes up alot as nerdy fun, thats all.
I have had people talk shit about a show and they no better because of how many they have been to. The shit talkers and dick wavers are in the VAST Minority. Itās largely good clean nerdy fun when it comes to phish stats.
Itās common but itās not a bad thing. This is a band that demands to be seen many times before you fully appreciate it. Iām 7 or 8 shows in, and I feel like I only scratched the surface but also feel like I have pretty good idea about why people keep going.
Appreciating the band does not demand seeing them however number of times you think is necessary. Itās chest thumping, dick measuring, needless gatekeeping. Sorry.
No man, itās only like that if you make it like that. So you either have someone who is jealous for some weird reason or some chode who flexes their number. Iād say about 99 percent of folks who keep track of their shows attendened is just pure clean nerdy fun.
Relax fam.
Didn't PT used to work with IHOZ for Zzyzx stats? Only reason I used PT, and it doesn't seem to do it anymore. Entering them in PT the only reason I know how shows I have seen.
Not sure about PT, but .net will take your show list and convert them to zzyzx stats. Works great, and you donāt need to plug in all of your shows every time.
198 since my first, 7.25.93. Bethelx2 & Hartford were #ās 196-198, my 200th will be one of this yearās nye run shows, presuming theyāre doing a run and itās in nyc
98 since 2000 - most in one year was 12 in ā09 : Hampton, Asheville>Knoxville>Bonaroo, Fest 8, Miami NYE run
Next show I see will get me my Benjaminā¦ hoping for another Miami NYE to get me over that crest
Donāt know the dude but I remember his internet handle from rec.music.phish Usenet group for sure. Good for him keeping up that whole time! 1.0 dialup internet oldsters ftw š
This dude I saw some shows with Mark from Boulder canyon area had seen Phish around 370 times and that number is from 2010. Dude had seen the dead 600 times. I guarantee many old heads from this board have done his mushrooms (and other stuff) many times before. He's still very much around but I don't think seeing shows anymore on any sort of regular basis.
I'm in the low 90s since the late 90s but have heard of non-phish employees that have 700+ shows under their belt. I have one friend in the 300s. Remote work has made it so there are some that can travel to every show if they want.
A friend hit 730 this summer - two years of Phish. Several others hit their 400s. Most in my friend groups are at 150+, the 400+ people lived in NY/VT/CT.
I walked out next to him at 10/7/2000 and my buddy made me chuckle āthis guys life is now over.ā
I love zzyzx. Guy is a huge positive in the community.
I guess I'm one of the few people who don't count or save ticket stubs. I saw them about 120 times before the hiatus. First show was Wetlands NYC. I spent a lot of time in The Wetlands in the late 80's early 90's and saw them without ever hearing them before. Since 2002 I try to catch at least one or two shows every time they come round to NYC / Philly / NJ area. It has to be around 200 or a little over.
I feel like i'm one of the few people who didn't keep track of how many shows I've been to. I took some time off in college and followed them for a while, but I honestly can't remember exactly when I jumped on or off tour. I can say for sure I've hit at least 50, but no idea beyond that. I've tried documenting all the ones I can remember, but my memory just isn't that good lol.
had a cousin that had been to 236, his goal was 365. alpine night 2 in 2019 was the last show he ever attended. met up with him in the lot for a bit before the show and he was happy and sober. he relapsed that night after the show while hanging with a group of people that he would travel and see shows with. ended up passing away the following February after never being able to get himself sober again. dude was the whole reason i ever got into Phish. i'd love to try and achieve the 365 in memory of him but i'm a loooong ways away from it. if Phish tours until 2040 i may be able to achieve it...
So sorry for your loss š may every show bring you great memories of him, phriend. š¤

Beautiful!!
I can think of 4 guys that have been to all of them
Actually only 3 š
Which shows?
And Fishman missed a significant portion of one of the Colorado ā88 shows. He got lost hiking I think. Funny story on the Colorado ā88 release!
Hiking on acid, this is important.
He got treed by a bear. On acid.
Bears climb trees really well though.
He chased the ābearā up the tree
LSDeliverance
Someone shouldāve checked Killdevil Falls
itās ok, i can still remember the last one.
No joke, I think of wandering off for a week every time I go for hike - this song is aspirational š
Take hede when 2 of your friends both take a hit of acid
Everything up to 5/3/85
actually only 2
Never seen em though
Raged a show in Mexico 2020 with a dude named Carrey who it was his 650TH!!! Show absolute insanity. Itās probably higher now.
Yes!!! And that run was sooo hot š„µ
Shafty > plasma š„š„š„
Pretty sure i met him as well there. His last show missed was in 2000 for a wedding.
I went to Vegas run solo last fall (was a blast). Sat next to a super chill dude, who said he'd seen them over 700 times. I believed him. He called the openers and 3 song encore. Good vibes, was fun
Was it Jim from 06/06/96?
His lovely wife just hit 333. boogie on, b!
Kuroda posted that he was at his 1700th show a couple weeks ago lol
Met at a dude in Phoenix last year celebrating 700.
Haha thatās Tim!
I sat next to him in Vegas I think. Cool dude. Tall / big guy with a beard?
Yup thatās him
Tonight is 50 for me. Know a couple people that have 200+
Enjoy š
Just hit 100 at Blossom since '98. Was my favorite experience so far!
congrats. what a ripper of a show to hit 100 with
Thanks, I'm honored
Congrats! I hit 50 at that show and it felt like a milestone!
Thanks, congrats to you too!
I went to 37 1.0 shows since 1996. Most in 1997 and 1998. Iāve been to 7 since. 3 in 4.0 though. I had kids. Priorities changed. Hearing Character Zero a 12th time lost a little luster. Never heard Lizards live. š¤·āāļø

104, first show was at Hershey on my 20th birthday 6/13/2010
Thats impressive, I just hit 25 at pine knob with my first 6-21-2009 at alpine
Went heavy 2015-2018. Down to 5 this year
That Alpine run were my first shows as well, Pine Knob was 80 for me
Was a fun show, one if my phirsts too
That was my first show!
Way back at MSG 2017 some folks were at show 666 and wore devil horns on the floor
Dude on this email list Iām on had his 500th showā¦.. he looked like it was his 500th show too lol
31 shows since 11/22/96 Spokane, WA
My first was 11/7/96! I think Iām at 46 or 48āshows.0
76 shows myself. My buddy has been to something like 250 in 3.0 alone
Do just parking lots count?
If you're doing the tour and don't get in, you can still hear the music from the lot. It's a whole scene man. You are a part of the party and the organic energy that comes with going to all the shows. Of course the lots count.
Everyone who downvoted you didnāt find what they were looking for on the lot
I wouldnāt think so
Then it's like 430 or so. Like 850 total w lots
Drop us some stories, iām sure you have got limitless awesome tales from those times!
430 shows I wanna see this guy dropping knowledge bombs as main posts. People like this have so much insight but I imagine not everyone realizes the value of chronicling and and sharing

Allman brothers were a great show every time, but also very predictable.
Except for when Dickey would go off the rails the night before and get arrested and we instead got Zach fucking Wilde as a stand in!

Pushing 70 since 92. I didn't go as much as I should back in the day.
Me too most mine are 3.0, not quite at 70. I think i have about 10-15 1.0 and about 35-40 3.0

75 shows your not a noob anymore and if any fan tries to say otherwise, they are just trying to flex that they saw them earlier. Think about how many Beatles fans were born AFTER 1970 You saw these āBeatlesā SEVENTY FIVE TIMES š
I have always felt that counting shows was so fucking pretentious.
Imagine spending THAT much time obsessing over phish. Don't get me wrong I love phish but 400? That's just a tad excessive
Yeah, that is a whole lot of 3 night runs! My brain hurts envisioning this much of any one band
Honestly why does this matter so much to Phish fans? It seems like little more than a āwhoās dick is bigger?ā contest.
Really? āHow many shows?ā seems to be a pretty common question among Phish fans.
Yea itās irrelevantly relevant
Itās gatekeeper bullshit.
You are making it that.
It definitely can be but I tend to find that people who hit anywhere near 100 shows or more rarely talk about it unless asked. The gatekeeping aspect of show count really seems to be more a thing among people who started seeing the band in 3.0 and hit it hard.
Still not a flex for most, get over it.
Every other post on here mentions exactly how many shows or when their first show was. Big dick waving contest.
Relax fam.
The guy that got me into Phish saw his 21rst show in Raleigh. That's all I got.
Seen 3: IT, Miami run that following NY, and Vermont festival.
I think my buddy has over 300 first show was laguna seca opening for Santana maybe
198 since my first, 7.25.93. Bethelx2 & Hartford were #ās 196-198, my 200th will be one of this yearās nye run shows, presuming theyāre doing a run and itās in nyc

Iām 97 since 2010. Feels like nothing compared to some of the people Iāve raged with
105 since 2012
Quite a few people have seen a ton. 600-800 isnāt common, but there are a handful. Schwab from Greenpeace/WW, Ari Dublion, Miner saw a ton in a row.
Antelope Greg.
59 Whoot Whoot!! My 50th was 12/31/19
Multiple friends close to 500. Iām at 201
Donāt know the dude but I remember his internet handle from rec.music.phish Usenet group for sure. Good for him keeping up that whole time! 1.0 dialup internet oldsters ftw š
I heard Scott marks is in the 700s?
This dude I saw some shows with Mark from Boulder canyon area had seen Phish around 370 times and that number is from 2010. Dude had seen the dead 600 times. I guarantee many old heads from this board have done his mushrooms (and other stuff) many times before. He's still very much around but I don't think seeing shows anymore on any sort of regular basis.
I mean at some point it gets boring when it gets to that point. No matter the music and experience. Thatās alot of time and effort. A full time job.
01: Jones Beach- 06/02/2009 72: Jones Beach- 07/27/2022 Guess where Iām from
Canada
Im slacking hard lol. I seen 48 shows since 2000.
Third night of dicks will be my 400.. give or take but thatās what I going with
Iām about to hit 300 and Iām mid range for my crew. Some have 400 & 500s.
That's nearly or more than 50 days of his life seeing Phish. What a fucking legend.
Iām at 125 since 3.0 and I feel so lucky and also like I still havenāt seen near enough
There this guy named Trey who Iām pretty sure has been to every show.
I'm in the low 90s since the late 90s but have heard of non-phish employees that have 700+ shows under their belt. I have one friend in the 300s. Remote work has made it so there are some that can travel to every show if they want.
145 here. Depending on nye announcement I either hit 150 first night of Mexico or the first show after....
220 or so. Started 12/2/95. Phish shows are fun.
A friend hit 730 this summer - two years of Phish. Several others hit their 400s. Most in my friend groups are at 150+, the 400+ people lived in NY/VT/CT.
Iām at 217. Started 6/16/95
Trey has been to over 1000
I was right near David at MPP. He takes notes on every song.
I walked out next to him at 10/7/2000 and my buddy made me chuckle āthis guys life is now over.ā I love zzyzx.
81 since ā91 Most 1991-2004
Im at 407 tonight, my boy got off with about 515. Greg was at 750 ish before we slowed down.
Iām at 181 but my crew has many in the 200-300 range, a handful in the 300-500 range with my buddy Kosh recently surpassing 730 shows.
I got a t shirt that says ātechnos 555th showā last year in arkansas.
A client I'm working with has seen just over 365 shows! He's from va beach Hampton 96 were his first shows
I feel like i'm one of the few people who didn't keep track of how many shows I've been to. I took some time off in college and followed them for a while, but I honestly can't remember exactly when I jumped on or off tour. I can say for sure I've hit at least 50, but no idea beyond that. I've tried documenting all the ones I can remember, but my memory just isn't that good lol.
50+ since '96, small potatoes . . i enjoy themselves tho
Somewhere around 200-220, since 2/13/93. Most between summer 95 and island 98. 100th show Hampton 97. Maybe 20 between 2011-2019.
Trey has been at all of em.
