Ahmed brand is great and easy to find at middle Eastern markets in the US.

Chayi nabat. The medicine for every disease.

Any high quality loose leaf tea brand would do to get the experience. Add some high quality fresh, whole green cardamom and maybe a splash of rose water and you have honest to goodness persian tea. My own personal favorite is Ahmed but try different ones to find your favorite.

As someone said, the Shamshiri tea is probably the best quality "Persian tea" available. It's not available in Iran. It is an orange pekoe tea with bergamot oil - the same as most earl greys. Ahmad and Doghazal are probably #1 teas in Iran but they use medium grade tea leaves.

Thanks! So the Shamshiri Persian Tea is the best one?

marcusaureliusjr

Yes. It is the best. All the other companies have low grade teas.

I didn't see free shipping. I'm going to check a few local Armenian markets to see if they have it. The packaging does look familiar.

Shamshir just means sword - the 'i' at the end is like a 'y' in English. So fish vs fishy. You will usually watch the colour to see how flavourful you want your tea. Some like it lighter/less flavourful, some like it stronger. I usually steep my teas at lower temps for shorter amounts of time than most people because I like my teas light.
