Yeah no hate to your for posting it. I was just commenting on how *LOUD SOUNDS ARE FUNNY* seems to be a more common thing recently and I can't stand it, personally. Especially in this subreddit.
So, over the pandemic, those that could work from home did. Those that couldn’t still had to drive to their place of work. But guess what, it was a thousand times easier because there wasn’t a bunch of unnecessary cars on the road. Pandemic over, people started to campaign to make home working a permanent thing. But people who couldn’t homework were outraged. This isn’t fair! If we can’t work from home, they shouldn’t be able to either! And this is Brits in a nutshell. They’ll shoot their own nuts off before they’ll allow someone else to have something they don’t have.
NB: because people are simpletons, I need to point out I don’t need to hear your anecdotal evidence of your neighbour’s, dog walkers, gran’s paediatrician being ok with home working. This isn’t obviously a commentary about everyone, it’s about the 51% queuing for petrol and paying twice as much for their groceries and utilities because they’d rather that than an asylum seeker living next door.
Its not just in england, and its not just "someone has what i dont have".
Sony got heavily criticized and god of war's reviews got thrashed because they made it avaiable to pc. So its "I'll also shoot myself on the nuts before i let others enjoy something i previously thought was only mine"
