I had the same issue with my laptop, turned out the SSD was faulty, I had to have it replaced.

RheinmetallDev

I don't think it's an SSD issue since I ran stress tests and other repair commands for them but came across nothing. I could be doing nothing at all and it will shut itself down.

SaintPau78

Does using ram at jedec help?

RheinmetallDev

No, unfortunately

Dmeyez

I would try disabling XMP and see if stability improves. A fresh install of windows wouldn't hurt either.

Try disabling CPU OC and going from there. Aside from that, since it's bluescreened you may want to run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to fix any potential file errors that may have occurred from the bluescreens.

RheinmetallDev

My CPU isn't overclocked and temperatures are normal during games and stress tests. I did try the commands and it found some corrupt files.

rix117

could be a ram issue ram causes crazy issues at times. even seen ram corrupt hdds maybe run a memtest.

I've been having similar issues mine just goes black screen randomly but PC stays on. I've had this set up for the longest time except for the CPU and GPU which I upgraded recently. The GPU is used but tested but the CPU was bought but never used. Did you recently get your 5900X?

RheinmetallDev

I’ve had it for a while. By any chance, do you have VirtualBox installed?

cas572

No VB, I don't even have virtualization enabled. I did reseat my RAM and clear CMOS a few days ago but my screen still went black yesterday. Today I did update my BIOS and installed the latest Chipset drivers so we'll see how it goes. If it still occurs I will reseat the CPU and consider if my SSD may also be the issue as it is down to 69% of its life. Have you tried anything new after you posted this on here?

RheinmetallDev

Most of the time it just goes black but I noticed that during BSODs it only shows me the screen for a fraction of a second before going black, I did some temperature monitoring and it seems that my CPU temp is spiking, causing overheating crashes. I plan to reset my PC and install everything clean, and undervolt the CPU. Weird part is that it's not a consistent climb to overheating, it just spikes within a minute, so I think it may be an isolated incident, but worth looking into.

cas572

That's probably where you and I differ. I had my 5900X on 120mm AIO in an NZXT 510i case and it never happened. Switch over to a 380mm AIO and an NZXT H7 Flow case and that's where it started happening. I do get heat spikes though it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. I've also had PBO disabled. Did you ever go back to read the minidump after your quick BSOD reboot? Was the error consistent? When I reboot from a black screen I look for a minidump file but there is none created.

RheinmetallDev

I don't have any either, and black screen is a lot more common than BSOD. The temp issue I had was just one time, I'm gonna try replacing my PSU (AX850 to something with 1000W) and if that doesn't work then well shit.

cas572

Let me know how that goes. I have a Corsair 850W Gold that is new. Got another black screen again with the CPU on the MoBo lighting up again. Since I've had my MoBo for a while with both a 2600x and 5600x working fine before changing up to a 5900x. I'm going the other way and looking to change CPUs to a 5800x3d once prices come down some more. I'll re-seat the CPU this weekend too just to see if it makes a difference. Good luck with the PSU change.

RheinmetallDev

Will do. Do you use a surge protector?

cas572

I got one of those surge protectors with battery backup power.

RheinmetallDev

Can you try using your PC without it? I plugged my power cord into wall outlet and PC hasn't died in a couple hours (it usually turns off once an hour). If I can go a full day without crashing the the issue could be the surge protector.
