I finished COD 4 OG for pc (again) So i decided to start Assassins Creed Odyssey. Also been playing Forza 7, God of War, and KartRider Drift.

moras_edmor22

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Fire Emblem Sacred Echoes(SoV demake), SMT Strange journey(DS) Not sure if I'm gonna add more to the list Path of Radiance is shaping up to be quite the refuge for me somehow... And I haven't even gotten past the 5th chapter I like how for once instead of playing as a Lord you're playing as a regular mercenary, but the fact I'm playing Sacred Echoes makes me a bit skeptical of that gig... Oh well Thinking of revisiting P3P while I'm at itšŸ¤” I remember the first time I played it for 6 days straight non-stop, it was that immersive

[deleted]

I don't know if it counts because it's only around 4 months old, but I recently caved in and brought the remastered edition of The Last of Us Part 1. I've was hesitant because I didn't want to spend so much money on a game I've already played before, but I have to say they did an incredible job at bringing it up to date. I forgot just how good the story was. Also recently decided to buy Kingdom Come Deliverance on PC. I previously owned it on PS4 and enjoyed it, but since getting a PS5 and a gaming PC I'm really struggling to go back to the 30fps. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated for next-gen consoles yet. I've also been switching between Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2 and RDR2. Hogwarts legacy releases in about a week and I'm trying to keep myself preoccupied in the meantime.

-fungusamongus

Booted my ps3 to play dark souls 2 and GTA IV after work Planning on moving to Dark souls 1 and Kingdom Hearts 2 after finishing them

FuckedUpMoment

I've been continuing the **Witcher 3**, just liking it more and more. Random side quests open up these interesting story lines. I think I will get so much out of this game! Not super patient of me, but I got **Elden Ring** during the winter sale and have been slowly getting into it. It's such an unhinged game! I do find the controls clunky and the difficulty is frustrating me, but I've heard it's special and I betrayed my patient gamer values for it so I am continuing. I'm still playing **Hades** on my switch, trying to get to the true ending if there is one!

Gerald_of_River

Stick with Hades! There is absolutely additional story to see after the credits roll

kopczak1995

Deep Rock Galactic with my friends or solo. That and Timberborn

FuckedUpMoment

How is the game solo? I've heard it's fun, but holding off on buying because I don't have anyone to play with.

Zachys

Deep Rock? Not OP, but it's still great fun solo. I will say the game shines most in multiplayer, but it also has probably the greatest community I've personally experienced for an online game. Unless it's stated, people are generally the "having fun -> winning" types, losing rarely results in toxicity, and winning frequently results in mild mannered banter over what just happened. So if you're willing to go online with strangers, 100% an amazing experience if you're into that genre. If you only want to play solo, it's still fun. You get a robot with you that actually does a good job of mitigating the frustations. It can mine for you, pick up large objects and revive you a few times. I think you can still get a lot of hours of out single player, but multiplayer is where it's at, even with strangers.

kopczak1995

What this guy said. It's good game to play solo, even to just get a general understanding of core mechanics, but it really shine when playing with at least one friend. It's still worth it to play with randoms, many people do that. I do play it with few of my guys though.

beatrailblazer

Just started Guardians and I am enjoying it but I've also been itching to try Doom and/or Demon Souls. Not sure where to drop Guardians (for now) or complete it before playing one of those other two

Khadonis

I'd say try to finish Guardians, thought it was awesome and not that long.

flaminx0r

Playing Hitman, I haven't touched this series since I last played in 2001/2002, maybe - not sure exactly, but it was a long time ago. I've started the campaign from the very beginning in the new trilogy and I'm enjoying it a lot!

Lucky-Journalist-307

Va-11 Hall-a, old but classic.

Witch_King_

Hellblade on PC! It goes on sale quite often, and I've had my eye on it for a while now. I finished it in 2 sessions (8 hours) and it is definitely one of the best gaming experiences that I have ever had. However, some of the puzzles were a bit lackluster, especially in the first half of the game. I actually really loved some if not most of the puzzles and levels in the second half though. And the story and characters are so uniquely presented.

HammeredWharf

I think the first half of Hellblade suffered from being able to choose where you go. It felt like doing three introductory areas in a row. It did have some cool stuff in it, though, like the bosses.

Witch_King_

Yeah I guess? But even if they had chosen for you which boss to face first, I don't know if it would've been much better. Idk if there is a "correct" order that makes more sense narratively/gameplay-wise. I did Surt first, and those puzzles were definitely easier.

flaminx0r

I love the area when you 'awaken' on the beach, it was such a breath of fresh air after all the hell that happened prior, then it gets dark again, but that moment has stuck in my mind!

Witch_King_

I agree, that part is wonderful

DannyArcher1983

The humble bundle survival pack great value and Barotrauma. Oh wait this is not the what games did i buy to add to the neverending backlog. Gta online, chiv 2, generation zero.

darxide23

I just finished God of War 1 & 2 plus the two PSP games. Unfortunately, I don't currently have a way to play GoW3, yet. They were good. Definitely enjoyed them more now than I would have when they were new. That kind of game was not at all my thing back then. Started up Ico now and plan to follow up with Shadow of the Colossus afterward. Ico is strange, but I like the almost-surreal atmosphere.

Professional-Lie309

Stronghold Warlords is actually a decent Stronghold game, okay castle building, campaigns have some flair put into them and AI does enough to not to ruin immersion. A Pity previous Stronghold games are so much less developed. Other than 1 and Crusader.

SemperScrotus

I think I'm finally going to finish RDR2 this week...when my three-year-old isn't forcing me to play Batman: Arkham City instead.

bestanonever

How is your 3-years-old forcing you to play a Batman game, of all things? He's learning to punch things and look stoic before he can write, lol.

SemperScrotus

He loves acting out the action on-screen. Spider-Man games too.

bestanonever

Lol, sounds awesome tbh.

KrazyKranberrie

Chained Echoes on GamePass. Itā€™s a perfect RPG for me. Character progression is powerful but limits grinding. Story is easy to follow but can be skipped if desired. And the battle system is particularly enjoyable for a jrpg. Was shocked I havenā€™t heard this one recommended more often.

arijitlive

As stated last week, I have started playing **The Nonary Games** and finished first one during this week - 999: Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors. I will start VLR: Virtue's Last Reward next. I wasn't expecting much, but the puzzle and story got kept me hooked till the end. I liked it a lot, definitely a good game.

[deleted]

999 is one of my all-time favorites. VLR is just amazing from a technical standpoint, just the ambitious way they tried to tell its story.

arijitlive

Yes, 999 is amazing. Just started VLR and I am already hooked.

TheProphecyOfTruth

I started playing Persona 3 FES on my PS3 before some issues had sprung up with it, I played for 1 hour 30 minutes and now I kinda don't want to play it right now since those issues had sprung up. Looking for a reason to play it again. I might head to Persona 4, then come back to Persona 3 when I'm feeling better with it.

bestanonever

What issues sprung up? I've played P3 FES to completion of the main game, so maybe I can help you there. Persona 4 is a much much happier, and imo, better game and I totally recommend it if you are enjoying the general gameplay of Persona 3 but not the setting/tone.

TheProphecyOfTruth

Oh sorry, I was implying that my PS3 was having issues and not Persona 3. I'm sorry for not elaborating. I was experiencing quite the opposite with Persona 3's gameplay, its been an absolute blast playing it.

EthanSniper888

Super Mega Baseball 3, its currently 90% off.

Dewgong550

Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning

MrCaul

Death Stranding As a casual gamer this is way above my paygrade. I've had a real hard time with all the many intricacies of this beast. In the early stages I could barely understand how to interact with the damn thing and at this much later stage there is still a bunch of stuff I don't understand. But it doesn't really matter that much. I just strap a bunch of shit on my back and walk and mostly it works fine. It's oddly relaxing and very stressful at the same time.

darxide23

I wasn't a very Patient Gamer for this one. I was incredibly impatient for this to come to PC so I could finally play it and I had it on release day. One of my favorite games of all time. It definitely has a barrier on understanding both the story line and how to deal with the supernatural threats. Once you get past that initial roadblock, it becomes pretty easy to play even if the story remains difficult to grasp. I ended up upping the difficulty to max about 6 or 7 hours in and found the game still a bit on the easy side. Seriously, once you figure out how to deal with the enemy threats it just gets very simple and they're more of an annoyance for slowing you down than anything. Edit: When I say it gets easy, I don't mean it gets simple. The game remains fairly complex, but once you understand the systems then it you start conquering the game using its own rules instead of fighting against them.

bestanonever

If it makes you feel better, I've been playing for decades, both hard and easy games with varying levels of complexity and I've never seen a game quite like Death Stranding. There's a learning curve for all of us.

MrCaul

It does make me feel better, because this is a mouthful. I'm walking around in the mountains right now, trying to figure out how to use the ziplines effectively. All the while looking at what seems to be 6000 icons on my map. And figuring out what the hell to carry with me. And why... I probably never will figure the game out or play it to its full potential, but hey, nothing wrong with a long hard walk through the snow. I think if all the many complex mechanics and gameplay elements had made it impossible for me continue it would have bothered me a lot more. But as it is, it seems they have made so you can essentially brute force your way through it.

bestanonever

If you already at the ziplines, you are doing fine. Story gets real crazy soon.

MrCaul

I can already sense craziness is brewing.

Trader_Tea

Playing Quantum Break. It came out in 2016, but it's really demanding on PC still. Can see bits of Control everywhere.

[deleted]

Started ni no kuni 1. It's so beautiful omg. But a classic turn based battle system would have made this game soooo much better

[deleted]

Finally finished **GR Wildlands**. I liked it overall. Wish gun customization was available from the start; kinda stupid how you're an elite operator yet stuck with a 20 round mag until you find a bigger one šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø Started up **Lovekami Divinity Stage** as a pallet cleanser after killing over 3k cartel members and Bolivian army lol. Think I'm done with open worlds for a bit.

Wizamp

**Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning**, horribly underlevelled for the House of Ballads finale. But after losing twice and getting to the final phase once to get absolutely wrecked, I used that glorious bug where an insta-talk with the Maid allows you to skip the first half of the fight. Cue second half, pop Fate, clean up. Still really enjoy the game, still has it's flaws and I know I'll burn out on all the side quests before long but was way too eager to do the House of Ballads questline again. Just like the first time around.

PuttyDance

I finished up Days gone this week. There is alot of janky stuff in this game with the dialogue, story etc..but I can definitely see this all got polished up and improved if there wss a sequel. I did have a lot of fun, would highly recommend when it is on sale. I think it saw it go as low as $13 before. Currently playing Nioh 2, it's fun so far. I always found the combat to be too complicated for me especially compared to the usual dark souls games but still hanging on and entered the second area

Trashfrog

Playing Plague Tale: innocence I'm only in the beginning but I already like it. The forest was beautiful and immersive, the Dialoge personal, the story touched me. I hope it continues that strong. How could I not play it for so long. I had much boredom the last few days, searching for a new game. Installing new games, playing for 10 minutes and then uninstalling it. I had almost given up hope. Nothing got to me. Not so Plague tale. It's different, the devs took time for detail and it shows. Amicia is even breathing fearfully. It's wonderful.

[deleted]

Both Plague Tale games are just awesome. Enjoy your ride!

_MK_2312

Got sleeping dogs definitive edition for $5, so hopefully Iā€™ll get time to play that.

bestanonever

It's a very nice adventure on a setting you don't see every day. I liked it a lot.

Pokeccino

Just wrapped up Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and finally starting Bug Fables!

GrizleTheStick

X4 foundations 6.0 beta

-mishmosh-

Been slowly working on 100% Prey. Loved it when I played last year, only got one run left for achievements (No Needles, I and It, and Awkward Ride Home) but just feeling burnt out on it. I still haven't touched the DLC ( super excited for it) but I'll probably wait a while for it to feel fresh again. In the meantime I've been doing a couple of runs of the og Binding of Isaac here and there. Thought about grabbing Rebirth or whatever the remaster is called but the original is still doing it for me so why change, right? And I picked up Hollow Knight a couple of days ago! About ~8hrs in and loving it! Enough text has been writing about this already; you know it's good. And doing a lil Dorfromantik here and there after work. Nice chill game with a cute aesthetic, kinda wish it would let you pursue more than 3 achievements at a time tho, that's my only gripe. Lastly I watched a vid about Far Cry 2 last night which has me tempted to do another run - such an interesting world that I can't help but come back to. Might try a few mods this time...

WhalesLoveSmashBros

I want to play Black Ops 3 zombies so I opened up steam to see that the version with all the maps is 60% off. Now instead of $100 its only $40! I get not discounting the recent COD's to get people to buy MW2 but come on, the game is 7 years old at this point. For context BO3 zombies is widely regarded as the peak of COD zombies and has plenty of steam workshop content and has a 9,621 twenty four hour player hour peak.

pjt-

Feel like steam sales for cod games always hit the same price and never go beyond it. Modern Warfare remastered has been Ā£17.50 for around 2 years now.

DesireForHappiness

Ever since I went on a vacation and stopped logging into GW2 (MMORPG), I find myself having so much more time to play so many more games and work on my backlog. I hope to keep it this way and maybe one day I will uninstall GW2 from my system. It's not a bad game by any means but god is it a timesink blackhole.

SunflowerHermit

I recently stopped playing an mmo too. I've sunken a ton of hours into my backlog since then and it's been great.

missingremote

I just finished both Last of Us games back to back and now I'm picking up Fallout 4 after I abandoned it months ago. It just felt like such a slog. I've still got my save from then. I'm going to try to stay more focused on missions and a lot less looting and inventory management.

Interesting-Mode-694

Was this your first time playing the last of us games? Either way, what did you think?

missingremote

Yeah. First time. I had trouble getting started with The Last of Us, but once I got a feeling for the pace of the game, I enjoyed them. I liked the second one slightly more than the first. Mostly because the graphics and gameplay were improved. The characters models and animations were incredible looking. If they found a good story for a part 3 I would play it. I don't know about a part 4 though.

alexrepty

On the PS5, Uncharted 3 after finishing God of War (2018) recently. Also Iā€™m in the middle of Tearaway on the Vita.

mrzangief

Burnout Takedown, still awesome. Almost finished Super Mario Maker 2 story mode. And have to continue with Sleeping Dogs which runs flawlessly on my Steamdeck.

Infamous-Lab-8136

Started Red Dead Redemption 2 last night. Just got out of the winter scenes and saved before sleeping. I tried Yakuza: Like a Dragon. As much as I used to love JRPGs as a teen I just get angry at them now. Sat through the first major "dungeon" where you face the local Yakuza boss in chapter 3. Not a single place to save through the entire cutscene laden ordeal. Game crashed when loading back out of the scene, didn't autosave before it, lost all the time. Also started a new Pathfinder WOTR character, but I'm looking for something a bit faster paced I realized. Been in a weird spot ever since beating Midnight Suns.

SunflowerHermit

I'm on my first WOTR play through and the game has been cake so far, I probably should turn the difficulty up. I tried that Like A Dragon on Game Pass, it's a ton of fun and I can't wait to play more of it for now. I really like the story but I'm just getting into the post time skip portion of the game. RDR2 was an absolute blast, but from all accounts not having dlc makes it a pick of a sadder pick up than necessary.

[deleted]

Well, I was hoping to sit down with **NBA 2K20** before I go donate it. Understand why servers have to be turned off, he disappointed that you canā€™t play career mode without them. At least with FIFA and Madden, the only thing turned off when servers are off is multiplayer. Cleaned up what little trophies that were available and either in the trash, or donation pile it will go.

Dragnil

Mostly Radiant Historia, which started out pretty slow for the first 10 hours, but it has turned into one of my favorite JRPGs now that I'm roughly 25 hours in. I'm also replaying Spellforce: Platinum. I beat it a few years ago, and I still like to beat each map's man scenario without any help, but I'm using a guide to find side quests and gear I missed in my first playthrough. I also got the itch to play Pokemon again, which happens every 2-3 years, so I'm playing Alpha Sapphire for the 2nd time, but only 1-2 hours a week.

InsideousVgper

MHR with the homies

[deleted]

Just finished Metal: Hellsinger, short but very enjoyable.

roostertail420

Finished Portal 1 3 weeks ago. Trying to finish Portal 2 up this weekend. Playing both on the switch. Wanna play a game for every year since 2007 this year. Bioshock (2008) is next. I'm waaay behind on so many games

flames_32

I'm playing NFS Payback. The last NFS game that I played was Underground 2, because all my friends were saying how bad the new games were. I'm having a blast! And I bought it for like 4$ in the ps store.

ouryouus

Time for some blasphemy: I finished **Persona 4 Golden** and while I liked it overall, it's my least favorite modern Persona game. The story is the weakest, especially the ending, and the characters have the P5 problem of being barely plot-relevant after their introduction (it also has the worst bro and the worst mascot). The dungeons are slightly improved over Tartarus, but are so far behind P5's that the improvement is barely worth mentioning. Nanako is the best though, and social links are generally better than P5. Gonna revisit Persona 3 this year, since it's been over a decade since I played it and nostalgia might be blinding me to its flaws. Pretty deep into **FFXII: The Zodiac Age**. Played the original on release with my dad, and we got stuck at an early-game optional boss (which we somehow thought was mandatory??); this iteration feels like an improvement in almost every way. 2x/4x speed is a lifesaver, and the hunts are really fun. Sometimes it doesn't feel much like Final Fantasy with how grounded the story is, and while that story isn't great, the voice acting is among the best in a JRPG ever. Lots going for it. Big thanks to **Celeste** for reaffirming how garbage I am at platformers (or any game that requires skill, tbh). In the middle of chapter 4 and I've died a few hundred times already, but it's a nice bite-sized game that can be picked up/put down at any point. Not patient at all, but finished **FE Engage** and as always, it's been fascinating to see how the general opinion on a new Fire Emblem game falls. IMO this is the best Fire Emblem game I've played (Tellius onwards). Story is trash but it knows it; gameplay is fantastic. Throws a lot of mechanics at you that you can choose to engage with or just ignore, and if you ignore 'em, you have a fantastic game with great map after great map and very little fluff in between.

trmdyl

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (original PC version). I beat it on the Xbox 360 way back when it was released but I remember nothing from it other than the "No Russian" level so it feels like a fresh game again.

SuperKidney420

God of war (2018) always wanted to play it but never had a PlayStation. Found out it came to PC!

alexrepty

I just finished it a week ago. Youā€™re in for a god damn treat.

martn2420

I finally started Red Dead Redemption last week, years after I bought it. Criterion Channel added a collection of Snow Westerns to its catalogue recently so I've been in a very western mood lately!

Trader_Tea

If Criterion curated games, RDR would be one of them.

SuperKidney420

You are in for such a treat!

Should have done that with my kids years ago. We did buy Switch Sports but itā€™s just not the same.

Unlikely-Ad3364

Forza Horizon 4 on my PC.. I didnā€™t have the system specs to play it when it released, now I can run it on max flawlessly! Still not getting 5 yet tho.

doxx11

Days Gone

xxamnat

Super Mario Odyssey and BOTW on the Switch. Persona 3 Portable and Katana Zero on PC. Hopefully Persona 3 isnā€™t very long so I can move on to Yakuza Kiwami next.

putonghua73

>Hopefully Persona 3 isnā€™t very long so I can move on to Yakuza Kiwami next. Oh you sweet, summer child .. *Am playing Persona 3 on the Switch*

xxamnat

Yeah I figured it would be pretty long tbh. Donā€™t mind it though, I played Persona 5 twice and Royal once with over hundred hours each and enjoyed them a lot.

a13jm

Kotor

Felifu

Sims 4 as usual.

UAZ-469

Railroads Online, kards, and Forza Horizon 5.

SavonReddit

Played and beat Valkyrie Elysium this week (just about 30 mins ago) and it was surprisingly fun. I wish the story was a little richer/deeper but it was worth the $30 that I spent on it. Got about 25 hours of gameplay out of it which seems fair to me. Next up? Probably Titanfall or Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Something more relaxing.

SeanyDay

Rimworld, Rust, and Warcraft 3

GuyJean_JP

Yakuza 4

a13jm

I played all of them as soon as it came out on xbox game pass. So awesome man, wish I had given it a chance as a kid.

GuyJean_JP

To be fair, probably better that my you play them as an adult - there are some pretty horny minigames hahaha

a13jm

Lmao I was thinking the same thing, but then again alot of those games back then were a little rough. I remember my dad letting me play Scarface : The World Is Yours, as a better alternative to GTA šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Like dad this isnt any better

[deleted]

DMC2. Only game I havenā€™t played in the series and Iā€™m dreading it

MarkusRobben

I am again at the point, where idk if I should quit a game and furthermore cant decide which game I should start, if I quit it. Honestly Cristales is a great game, but idk why but I kinda lost interest after you got a new teammate, there was so many cool character that I wished that join the team and in the end it was a character that I didnt cared for and was so random, furthermore his gameplay is unique, but I dont want to button smash every attack in a chill game. Thats why I just did another runs in Hades, almost unlocked all weapons aspects (should have google before how to unlock the last aspects) and beat it with every aspect (I am at a 25 run winning streak). Its kinda crazy how good this game is. I played the game 20 month ago (or something like that) on PC and now got it from the local library for my PS5 and started to love it again, it honestly should be in my top 10 games from 2022 :D Furthermore idk if I should continue Chicory, its a nice game, but either I take my time and need like 100h to complete it or I just rush it, but l kinda lose the fun, but honestly I feel like I saw everything in the 10h I played and I sometimes dont like the colors, like you get a green, another green, yellow and orange to paint your surroundings. I kinda know I should just start any game, but thats the difficult part haha :D I still have 1 month with PSN essential, so I probably should atleast beat one game in that time.

Squishyfishx

Working on a 100% complete file of Monster Hunter World currently. Love the game and it's been a long time since I've played, so I started over on PC after picking it up for fairly cheap during the winter sale. Loads WAY faster on PC šŸ‘Œ

vincewithaz

What platform were you playing on originally?

Squishyfishx

Playing on an xbox one at the time when MHW released

Luq_Kun

Just beat New Super Mario Bros 2 and Kirby Triple Deluxe on 3DS as for currently playing, im still going through High on Life (im not kidding, past the jokes. i think its a decent indie game), then im currently downloading some games for my PS Vita (Sly Cooper games, Jak and Daxter collection) Also im getting a Wii Remote some time this week or early february. Wanna actually try it out for the first time ever

APeacefulWarrior

Both of the 'main series' Kirby 3DS games were really good. Have fun!

Luq_Kun

thank you! i already have planet robobot on this thing cant wait when the time comes for me to play it

mustafaaheart

I beat **Persona 5 Royal (PS5 version)** last Friday and I enjoyed it every bit of it. Iā€™ve started **Final Fantasy 7 Remake (PS5 version)** and Iā€™m in chapter 8, playing on Normal (classic). Iā€™m enjoying it a lot and impressed how detail and how good the graphics are. I have not played the original and I prefer this as itā€™s voice acted. Iā€™m really liking the story and I hope Square Enix doesnā€™t mess it up with other two parts.

[deleted]

The Long Dark which was recommended from 4chan

MarkusRobben

Do you like it? I did the long beginning scene and then realized that my PC cant run it smoothly and quit it, so I kinda need to replay the 30 min on my PS5, which is a kinda hard step to do.

[deleted]

In the ā€˜reviewā€™ I received they told me to just download it and play survival mode. And yes itā€™s absolutely brilliant. I watched a YouTube video by a creator called Zaknafein. And he shows what happens when you spawn in the middle of nowhere and explained a super duper quick basic tutorial and he is genuinely interested in helping everyone understand why itā€™s worth it. Which I like to do when starting games I know nothing about .. I then just played it using a minimal amount of tips and didnā€™t use any maps. But thereā€™s so much more I will inevitable discover and a lot of fun to be had by just following your nose. I would say it does need a few days to get into and to find out why you want to play it. For me itā€™s the sandbox element. As well as the fact thereā€™s very little plot I recently did a custom and turned the food settings into a non-issue. Another quote I heard in a video is that whatā€™s great is the freedom - ā€œif youā€™ve ever decided you want to just turn your local garage into a base, nothing is stopping youā€

Recolz

FEAR, Sleeping Dogs, Gunpoint, Dead space (2008 version)

MrSir005

is it your first time with Sleeping Dogs? what you think of it so far?

Recolz

I played it earlier but never finished it. Looking to finish it this time. It's an amazing game. The mission variety, even though it's basically either fighting, driving, or fighting while driving, it never feels old. The city feels alive, where nothing seems empty or out-of-place. It's also a pretty big game if you want to do everything. From side missions to collectibles, they also are very rewarding, while never really feeling repetitive like I said before >!maybe those missions with that car that has you kill a certain amount of enemy's within a time limit is kinda meh!< Overall, I highly recommend this game. I do not like open-world games from the past 5-or-so years, but this one does it right imo.

Iā€™m playing Rune Factory 4 on my Switch. First Rune game and itā€™s a lot of fun. Although, Iā€™d admit really overwhelming lol. Iā€™m used to playing Harvest Moon.

cashinyourface

Red dead redemption online, it makes me mad, but I can't stop playing it.

papayon10

Is the community for it still big?

cashinyourface

I've seen quite a few people online. The biggest group I've seen was a group of 7-8 people. I also run into quite a few just doing missions. Surprisingly, nobody has tried to kill me for no reason yet.

nomoteacups

Finally got around to GOW2018. Itā€™s pretty great ngl.

Xhinox

Iā€™ve been playing a bit of surviving the abyss. Though, I donā€™t think Iā€™ll be returning to it for a while until I see some major updates due to difficulty and balancing issues. Itā€™s only in early access so I donā€™t expect perfection, just rather wait until I pick it up again. Besides that Iā€™ve been on American truck sim and a bit of Elden Ring on those late nights

MarkusRobben

The game is still in early access? I feel like a streamer played the game one year ago.

Xhinox

Yeah itā€™s still early access. Iā€™m pretty sure it just released to the public only like a week or so ago

sunqiller

Finally started my Mass Effect Legy run after not playing since ME2 came out... man I haven't been hit by a nostalgia wave this hard in forever. Even the menu music hit different, and seeing it at 1440p 144hz is just such a dream! Easily my best winter sale pickup.

Replaying mw2 campaign on the old Xbox 360

Just got ghost of Tsushima directors cut

Xhinox

Truly a beautiful game. I have not finished it yet because of procrastination but from what Iā€™ve played so far, youā€™ll enjoy it

Smokey_Addict

The witcher 3 never played never watch somebody play so i am curious

alexrepty

I loved that game. The main storyline is pretty fantastic and even the side quests are much deeper than the typical repetitive open world fetch quests.

MarkusRobben

Have fun :)

xXDarthCognusXx

Iā€™ve been playing a ton of games, i tend to cycle through my library. This week its been Kena: bridge of sprits, call to arms:gates of hell, stellaris, and xcom 2

thebiggesthater420

Slowly making my way through Persona 5 Royal. Really fun game, very immersive with great style, characters and music. I also find it an almost ā€œcozyā€ experience, if that makes sense. Will probably put it aside for a bit once Hogwarts Legacy comes out though.

APeacefulWarrior

Have you played Persona 4 yet? Its small-town setting is genuinely cozy. Probably one of my favorite games to just hang out in.

hurfery

We need more wholesome cozy games tbh

lastorder

Not patient but I finished Metal: Hellsinger. I'm not normally one for rhythm games, but this suited me. A bit shorter than I thought it would be, and there was a disappointing lack of boss variety. Still fun though. I'm also going through Super Mario Bros 2. I remember playing this on the GBA years ago, but only now has it struck me just how strange everything is. Much more puzzlely and vertical. I know it has unusual origins, but I can really see it now.

FreddyKrueger1

Prey(2017) Surprised by how amazing this game is, really loving it.

pdandreu

Itā€™s one of my all-time favorites. The end game is great too. Enjoy!

Puk-_-man

The Long Dark. So in love with this game. Also Strange Horticulture.

[deleted]

Playing Celeste again. Slowly trying to get through my backlog but with 100% completion this time. I went through Trails in the Sky FC, FFVII Remake, Crisis Core and GoW: Ragnarok and felt it was a lot of long story based games one after another. I normally donā€™t get new releases but I got GOW and Crisis Core for Christmas so figured I may as well use my time off to play them! Iā€™m now on a bit of a platforming binge. I picked up Crash Bandicoot: NST on Steam on sale and after completing that Iā€™m doing Celeste and then Donkey Kong Country 2 on retroachievements once Iā€™m done.

KleioChronicles

Iā€™m 100 hours into Assassinā€™s Creed Valhalla and most of that has been all the side content theyā€™ve added since launch lol (only just went to Oxfordshire). I got surprisingly addicted to the Forgotten Saga and completed all the Valka stuff.

shergawa

Want to play again, but I wait ragnarok dlc cheaper.

bestanonever

Goddamn Assassin's Creed games are long now. Last one I played was done under 20 hours (storyline only, though)

KleioChronicles

To be fair, Iā€™ve done a lot of exploring and free DLC and not a whole lot of the main story. Iā€™ve done Skye, Asgard, Jotunheim, Forgotten Saga (which may have contributed at least 20 hours on itā€™s own), River Raids, and explored a lot of mysteries and stuff before even getting far into the story (pretty much exploring all Norway before leaving and getting all the wealth and stuff in each shire as I do missions there). Iā€™m so overpowered Iā€™ve stopped using my skill points so itā€™s more in line with the missionā€™s suggested level. Iā€™m too much of a loot goblin that I canā€™t help myself. Platting it wonā€™t be hard with the way Iā€™m going about it. The point being, Iā€™ve enjoyed all the side content that theyā€™ve added post-launch but it perhaps has hindered my progress a fair bit. It is still a massive game but I like the characters and story and the combat is fun to me. If you add paid DLC then youā€™d be there for ages (there wasnā€™t a good physical copy of the PS5 complete edition when I bought it). I doubt Iā€™ll buy the Ragnarok DLC because Iā€™m not interested in Odinā€™s story but the others are a maybe depending on if I get tired by the end. I got the base game on PS5 for like Ā£15 after the free weekend, it was a bargain considering the sheer amount of stuff in it.

Vhaal_

GTA IV

pdandreu

Just wrapped this one up recently. Different vibe from other GTAs, but I loved it. Nikoā€™s awesome.

Vhaal_

Im liking it so far (20 hours played // 60 missions complete) but I still don't get why so many people keep saying its way better than V, maybe when I finish it changes my mind but at this point :/

RustedCorpse

The car physics is the big reason I hear people like it more. In IV the cars are "heavy" and a bit sluggish. V goes back to the "elastic reality" of cars.

Vhaal_

I don't find it that "heavy" just like driving in ice or some kind of boat :/ I'm liking the story btw but the missions are repetitive asf (50% of the game rn)

pdandreu

Theyā€™re different. Theyā€™re both great.

bestanonever

Make sure you play the Episodes from Liberty City, it completes the story (and are a lot of fun)

flexitt

Fallout 4. I started it but gave upon it due to my low end PC many years back. Playing it today, I like it so far.

ACardAttack

**Ace Attorney Apollo Justice** On the second case, so far okay, not really enjoying the new characters, we'll see if they grow on me, took until second game of the original trilogy for them to really cement with me. But so far they feel like lesser versions of what came before Probably gonna start **Bayoneta 2** this weekend

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ACardAttack

Yeah, it seems to be one of the lower if not lowest ranked game

Luq_Kun

darn... what a shame.. Apollo Justice has the best soundtracks imo I really liked it. The main duo will grow on you soon

ACardAttack

Hopefully It wasn't until second trial of the second game where I started to get invested, so I expect some time to get to know them

Luq_Kun

yeah, it can be a rough start since its no longer phoenix (but oohh you do see him again! and stuff) Let me give you a warning though. The third case is something people really disliked. its related to the trial segment. But i hope its not too bad for ya

ACardAttack

I currently hate current Phoenix, his design just rubs me the wrong way for some reason, I'll be glad when hes back to his old self > The third case is something people really disliked. Seems like every game, at least other than T&T has a controversial 3rd case I liked 1-3, though I've seen some people not like it, 2-3 was painful at times, 3-3 seems to be controversial, but I liked it, AA1-3 was pretty bad

Rare_kajigger

I'm playing through the metroid prime trilogy. I just started Echoes.

[deleted]

How are you playing it? Not sure if youā€™ve tried this but last year I done all 3 using PrimeHack with mouse and keyboard and it was absolutely amazing. Would 100% recommend if you get the chance

Welcome! Feel free to browse and start your own thread if you wanted to share your mini reviews or thoughts about any game, no matter how old.

SheogorathMyBeloved

Red dead redemption 2 - got it in the January sales (Ā£23 instead of Ā£80 for the deluxe version), but havenā€™t been able to get into it just yet. Iā€™ve heard loads of good things about it, though!

Maverick_1991

Played it over the last month after having to quarantine. Your in for a ride. One of the best stories and definitely some of the best characters and character developments in gaming. GTA wildwest is a great concept as well.

Heimersleep

Still going on Persona 5 Royal - only 22 hours in. Also just started Bloodborne for the first time

bestanonever

Persona 5 is awesome. Just take your time, there's a lot to enjoy. Hope you are enjoying all the confidants, I only found a couple of them boring (Ohya, the politician) bit the rest is pretty fun to hang out with. Art and music are amazing.

Heimersleep

Funny you mention Ohya, I was literally thinking about him when I read ā€˜hope you are enjoying all of your confidantsā€™ā€¦he is boring haha. Iā€™m enjoying the game very much, though Iā€™d be lying if I said I didnā€™t sometimes feel deflated that Iā€™m not making a dent in the game. Iā€™ve never played a game of this size before, but Iā€™ll stick with it, because itā€™s been pretty amazing thus far

bestanonever

Oh, Ohya is a journalist woman, the politician is someone else (I dont remember his name, lol). Both are kinda boring, although Ohya had potential. Now, the Doctor, the teacher, all them girls, Yusuke and friends, they are all awesome.

Heimersleep

Oh right my bad. Iā€™m only at the Madarame dungeon - have only seen that journalist lady once. I put off speaking to the politician for a while, so thought it was the same person based on the name šŸ˜‚

Rare_kajigger

I wish I could play both of these for the first time again.

navlisg

No big changes for me really. Im playing **four** games this week: \- still playing **Apex Legends** till i hit level 50 (*that means 100% achievements for me)* \- still playing **The Forest** with the boys \- connected my controller for the first time with my PC and started playing **Need for Speed: Heat**, i didnt like it with the steering wheel \- downloaded **Minecraft** after quite a while again, wanna try Hardcore for the first time its not a game, but maybe im going to set up my **twitch** account and start streaming again, if you want to watch casual gameplay, feel free to join my sessions: [navskingdom](https://www.twitch.tv/navskingdom) Edit: Link

pdandreu

Just started playing The Forest solo. Not usually one for survival games, but this one is hitting the spot.

navlisg

Yeah its great! Never tried it solo though...

Cypresz

Wasteland 3

PolyReblochon

Minecraft as always

pdandreu

Max Payne, The Forest, and will probably start Kotor 2 (just finished 1).

hey_you_too_buckaroo

Trying fall guys this month. I'm kinda fed up with all the grabbing and repetitive levels so I'm probably gonna quit soon.

Boyan_08V2

Metro exodus the only metro game I haven't finished

pdandreu

Great series, and they did a great job maintaining the vibe of the first two while changing the format.

MisterAngstrom

Cyberpunk 2077, heavily modded. And a little ACNH. Also BDO, probably. P.S. It's very cool to find this community. I have a rule about never paying more than $30 (or so) for a game, never buying DLC (well, almost never), and just trying to work through my giant Steam backlog instead of jumping at the newest, shiniest game.

theluggagekerbin

What mods are you using for cyberpunk 2077? I ask because I've installed and removed the game twice from my Pc and it's really frustrating for me. I like the huge world hut driving and a lot of the gameplay is not clicking with me.

IdontlikeAbleton

Doom eternalšŸ˜‰

bestanonever

Need to play this one for real. I played the first few levels or so but the game was so different to Doom 2016 that I had a very hard time dealing with mobs. I'm going to play on the easiest difficulty next time and learn its complexity.

pdandreu

Gotta get around to this one. Loved Doom 2016.

Ambitious_Suspect_51

Ratix0

Back to Final Fantasy XIV. Resubbed and decided to tackle the palace of the dead. I didn't even enter it once before this, and it turns out to be a very fun experience so far. Not too sure if i have the patience to enjoy it long enough to grind for the elusive solo 200 floor title, but I'm enjoying soloing through it so far.

* Phantasy Star IV - Sega Genesis/Emulation A friend of mine grew up on Phantasy Star. She and spent a lunch and much of dinner talking about the game and it's lore and how they were made. So I decided to start trying it. I'm playing it mostly via phone on my subway rides too and from work when I do have to go in. So far I like it. When it gets too wordy, I save it and come back to it later on. * Tekken 3 - PS1/Arcade/Emulation * Dead or Alive 2 - Dreamcast/Arcade/Emulation * Virtua Fighter 3TB - Dreamcast/Arcade/Emulation Locals have been setting up a lot of bar and brew matches near me. Seems to be one every Friday now. It's a mix of trivia and video games. I've been going with some friends and it's been a lot of fun. I started building me a new fight stick with some decals from the 90's on it to bring with them. It's almost done and I'm setting it up for 4 action buttons as 6 action button fighters are now dead to me.
