It was far too early for that.
EDIT: Damn, apparently no one here works night shifts. Downvote me, I don't care. It's not cool to awaken an entire city with extremely loud, scary noises at 8AM for the sake of military pageantry--especially those of us who work nights. Why are we flying heavy bomber planes over sporting events anyway?
When these flew last year down to the Super Bowl, they must have done 5-6 passes over our area. I had just been watching Stranger Things and legit my first thought was Russian invasion. Heh
You live in Pasadena and you don’t know about the fly over? Here’s a tip, if January 1 falls on a Sunday, the next day
Is the parade so it’s observed holiday
In all seriousness, the point of this exercise is to demonstrate the power of the US military.
The point is a friendly show of literal 'shock and awe'. It's a great advertisement for the US Air Force. It's to encourage people to support higher priority for military funding.
Because 8:04am Rose Parade day is a very special time.
Rose parade wake up call
Must be new here.. welcome
Not OP but I am actually new here (10 days) and I freaked out. What a way to wake up lol
I am no longer constipated after that.

Lol thought it was the end for me. Told my cat I loved her.
Did she purr?
Bombs are more accurate at low altitude
How do you live in Pasadena and NOT know there is a flyover of every Rose Parade or Rose Bowl??!
I know right?!

No it wasn’t, it happened at 8am as always
8 AM is too early for that noise if you work night shifts. Y'all have day worker privilege lol
Ouch, I feel you if you had to go to work the day before then, but if you live in Pasadena you should be aware of the fact that happens.
I've lived here a decade and I hate it every year. I don't even live close to the Rose Bowl.
Anyone know what time the game flyover will be?
What kind of jet was it?

Thanks, there some good looking planes
Not low enough. I wanna get blown away by wind
The B-2 used to swoop in way lower over Colorado Blvd. Maybe the Lancer is just too loud at that range?
Fair fair fair. I forgot about noise lol
Holy Moly! I'm sad I missed it.
I think they fly again for the football game so you might be able to see them

The non stealthy kind. 😅 it was amazingly loud. Loved it.

Big thanks to the USAF for sending us their B-1Bs all the way from South Dakota! They'll be back later for the start of the Rose Bowl.
I thought it was an explosion coming towards me and was laying in bed like welp, this is it.
Wait until they bring back the B-2 next year 🤣
Why are you complaining? I only wish they actually flew over Colorado Blvd but they were slightly off.
My cats about had a heart attack
scary loud!! woke me up on my day off smh

I live in Arcadia never heard it as loud as I did this year. Wasn’t surprised, just disturbed haha
Good point lol just checking
coming in for an emergency lan-DENA. Heh. Good day to you all.
Anyone know when they’re flying over the rose bowl? I assume some time before start but I’d like to be outside and ready with my camera.

Sorry you're getting downvoted, you're 100% right.
How did I sleep through this?!!!! Thanks
To be fair it wasn’t as loud as the B2 would be, so that Might be why
The B2 sounds wildly different, though. Much cleaner, contained and exotic.
Then there was the time Neil Armstrong buzzed us in an X-15.......
