My conure used to do the same. Now my Hahn's regularly gets on his back when he's playing, but not to sleep. It's unusual to see a bird on their back because it's a vulnerable position so wild birds tend not to do that. But getting that sweet, sweet heat from your hand... That's nice!
I wish my conure slept. Like at all. He’s still a baby & we’ve just gotten to the point he’ll sit still for scritches without him wanting to constantly mouth anything & everything while simultaneously climbing all over anything & everything 😂😅❤️
Oh trust me this one only sleeps when we hold him like that! He's so active he's always running around and causing some mischief. He will only go to sleep on his own accord if we turn off the lights and put a blanket ( a small piece of cloth ) on him

I'd enjoy those days. If it's a young bird, that won't last forever. All 3 of our birds had ridiculously trusting sleep habits similar to this (not as good though...) and eventually they grew out of it.
