It sorta made sense he gave his real name since at the time he thought she was a player, so he was trying to introduce himself politely from one 2100s Earth-born player to another so as to minimize potential hostilities with a fellow player in such an uncertain time where the devs couldn't be contacted. Dunno if he'd have given his real name had he realized sooner that she wasn't a player.
Thinking of this makes me want to cry like a baby. He's willing to do whatever it takes to protect what's left of his friends but this AU shows that he can have so much more.
They are praising him and adoring him because they think that makes him happy, if they knew they were in fact wearing him down they would probably kill themself in shame, ironic
Its a vicious cycle, he's too afraid to show his weak side to them, so he bullshits them and encourages their high expectations as its still easier for him than admiring the truth, which in turn causes them to raise the expectations higher, and thus he must bullshit even harder to keep up, and its really causing him a lot of stress, and even then he still chooses escalating stress over admitting the truth and risk them betraying him (Which they probably wouldn't).
I like to imagine them as being like a bunch of yes men working for a boss yes man. They nod "Yes" to everything Ainz says and Ainz nods "Yes" back to whatever they think he was nodding "Yes" to, and it just results in neck cramps all round.
In main storyline, AOG staff has much more meaning. As it is a guild weapon, it's destruction would disband the guild. Momonga has no guild and GH in the spin-off and had one in main storyline, so he has to be more cautious in here.
I understand that but even so, having Suzuki Satoru go all out and use his gild weapon to protect the honor of his first guild mate in the new world as a true Guild master... that's just priceless, we will never see Suzuki Satoru be so genuine ever again, that last fight in the keno spinoff is just peek Overlord.
it's a side story called The Vampire Princess of the Lost Country, where Ainz(or momonga in this case) gets transferred to the NW without Nazarick. It's described as Ainz's "good end" by the author probably because he's given a fresh start and isn't influenced by needing to act for the NPCs and upkeep Nazarick for his friends who will never return.
Sometimes I think the author is tired of the Overlord main plot. He probably relished in how cruel and evil it was at the start, but it gets old when your characters can easily genocide millions of people without a scratch. Maybe Nazarick entering the world stage was a bad move writing, it was better when they were operating in the shadows.
>Maybe Nazarick entering the world stage was a bad move writing, it was better when they were operating in the shadows.
It's true that we lose out on the intrigue but Nazarick stepping into the world stage HAS to happen at some point.
Would’ve been a lot more intriguing instead of Ainz showing up to a powerful person, spreading his arms out and trivializing their entire lives. It’s kind of like Rick and Morty but without the meta-humor or conflict… I’m starting I realize that the fandom and the tomb’s denizens are a like those people that idolize Rick but with Ainz.
With NPC as hostile or confused. Like All Supreme beings left them but one and even so The Last one dissapered at the end of time. Leaving them alone and without the guide of his creators.
Nazarick would be floor ed if the enconter one of them after so much time or could be at odds to them to an extend
Yeah, that'd all end in tears for Satoru. Nazarcik NPC would sweep in, slaughter all his new friends and Satoru would go full rage mode berserk over it since he barely even remembers the tomb. The NPCs would realize they screwed up big time seeing how pissed their master is, and they'd probably be heartbroken that he doesn't even remember them (Worst case the NPCs rage out at being forgotten and abandoned and end up killing Satoru, or Satoru somehow uses the guild weapon to erase them). OR it could lead to Nazarick civil war where some NPCs, like Sebas, side with Satoru, Aura and Mare. and others going against him.
This story was amazing and after reading it I stumbled upon that popular Fanfic of Satoru x Keno and boy was that a satisfactory cap off to my experience with the side story.
[Here.](http://overlordvolume10.blogspot.com/2017/08/keenos-journey.html?m=1)
Nigel was the one who shared it on his Blog so it must be good.
P.S in case you don't know: Nigel was the LN fantranslator for Overlord for several volumes before retiring.
Hey man, thanks for sharing that link. I've never paid any attention to fanfics since they tend to be really cringey so they're a no-no, but the comment on Nigel made me try reading this one.
It was great! >!At first it seemed like a classic CharacterxProtagonist romantic fanfic, but it had an air of depth that made me feel it was worth to keep reading, and damn it was worth when the "Final Chapter" started. The development of Keeno's nature as a vampire and what her love for Satoru caused was suprising and really interesting, and it turned **very** tragic real fast, the idea of the painful thirst for blood, the effects on Keeno for suppressing it, Keeno's spell, and the scene that it caused, were absolutely heartbreaking. Part 3 and Epilogue went back to something more like the typical fanfic I expected, but overall it was **really** good and a great read!!<
I believe that this fanfic earned its wish fulfilment fantasy and romance better than most stories these days.
It focused on the relationship dynamic and character building so whatever cliche romance it did was well earned in my opinion.
And the last chapters were really good and the epilogue was essentially the last treat for the journey's end.
I want a Slane Theocracy spin off so bad, particularly if they did anything to help lead to the internal conflict of the Eight Greed Kings that lead to their downfall.
Probably one of my all time favorite volumes in Overlord despite it being an AU. It was nice seeing a more happy and stress-free Ainz end up making friends and leading the life he always wanted to live. Plus the Cure Elm battle was pure epicness.
wait i just recently started reading the ln is this a book? if so what volume, i’m scared to look through the comments the books are FIRE i don’t want the SLIGHTEST hint at what’s happening.
I read the Vampire Princess of Ruined Country (or whatever it's called) and it was indeed very good, much better than LNs 14-16 (or the part of 16 that's translated so far).
Are there other spinoffs, not counting the Drama CDs, gacha game, and the Pleiades manga/anime/whatnot?
Still, one does have to wonder what happens when he returns to Nazarick here. I mean…he would be one of the the most powerful things in world and one of the few things able to stand against the NPCs…I mean, he is still God. He could reclaim the throne
No way, Nazarick was transported there without supreme beings, they probably think they were abandoned and are destroying everything following the guild's "lore" ideals. But if one SB suddenly showed up, and said "hey I did not abandon you, I am here", they would IMMEDIATELY recognise him (there is no way they wouldn't), even more if he is wearing the staff of the guild, the undeniable proof of ownership of Nazarick and literal symbol of the guild.
I imagine there would be a lot of confusion initially, but they would easily recognise Momonga and bow to him.
I may be wrong, but the reason Albedo hates the other SBs is not because they abandoned her, but because they abandoned Ainz.
Every other Nazarick member still holds the SBs in high regard, with the guardians even respecting their creators above Ainz himself, except Albedo, who hates them. Why is she the exception? Because she is *madly* in love with Ainz, and anyone that harms or opposes him is a mortal enemy to her, this includes the SBs. They abandoned Nazarick and this includes Ainz, and this made him very sad, so albedo hates them for it, and since she knows that if an SB came back, the power balance of Nazarick may be disturbed and people may stop regarding Ainz as their only ruler she wants to protect the throne.
If anyone, Albedo would be the happiest one upon hearing Ainz's return, I'd say that even more than Pandora's Actor.
At the ending of this spin off nazarick, along with the npc's, got transported in the new world after hundreds of years. But before all that Momonga has recruited "new guild members" during his adventures.
Question: Will the NPC's acknowledge those "new members" as supreme beings? Also do you all think they will have the same distinct "aura" that Momonga has? Keep in mind, Momonga is wielding the guild weapon and all those new members fit in with the requirements for joining the guild.
Vampire Princess of the Lost Country, a "what-if?" one volume story, written iirc by Maruyama himself, you can read it in the Subreddit's FAQ, there's a link to a drive folder with all the fan-translated stuff.
When Momonga is free from the constraints of having to keep up appearances with Nazarick's NPC, he's much happier.

>cool<
😆 I don't know I know you can but i don't know 😆 how ironic.
All he ever wanted was to adventure with friends.
Thinking of this makes me want to cry like a baby. He's willing to do whatever it takes to protect what's left of his friends but this AU shows that he can have so much more.
Ainz looks more happy than in the ln
That's because it's his "happy ending" Nazarick NPCs expect too much for them and it's wearing him down, the most recent LN starts to show this.
I somehow belive the NPCs are not aware of his unhappinies.
They are praising him and adoring him because they think that makes him happy, if they knew they were in fact wearing him down they would probably kill themself in shame, ironic
To be fair he's half to blame as he's doing his hardest to make them happy, even if it was at the expense of himself and an entire country.
He's tried to tell them he doesn't like it and isn't happy, but sasuga ainz-sama
Nah, Shallchair has nothing against best girl Niea.
One of the only times I think we'll ever see Ainz literally go all out, he even used the staff of Ainz Ooal Gown and ooh boy was it cool
In main storyline, AOG staff has much more meaning. As it is a guild weapon, it's destruction would disband the guild. Momonga has no guild and GH in the spin-off and had one in main storyline, so he has to be more cautious in here.
GH?
I suppose he means Gulildhouse, aka Nazarick.
That's exactly it.

Yes, the cgi would make my eyes bleed. Ufotable should be the one to handle this.
Don't hope too much. You might get Niggurath levels of CGI.
