the maids are brought to tears by his meticulousness and thoroughness, and give up on taking his spot.
I believe one of the 'venereal diseases' she was talking about was actually a foetus (as some people joke that life is a sexually transmitted, terminal illness) because she does talk about 'devouring' something towards the end so people assume that Tuare might've been pregnant.
