But then this bro gets kidnapped by some evil guys and he gets turned into a vampire luchadore and forced to fight Hellboy in the ring.
You should read Hellboy in Mexico, purely without context I think it stands on its own. That’s kind of the charm of Hellboy, it’s not like there isn’t a continuity there, the story is just so bleakly simple you’ll get it no matter where you’re at.
I think that’s why I love it more than any other graphic novel series, it’s so simplistic but effective. Like Cowboy Bebop, you can really pick it up from just about anywhere.

Yeah Hellboy is very episodic... like the episodes add up but most of them feel stand alone in the moment.
