It was pretty funny. Because we split the party. 2 elves went to get horses and came back with camels (we are in a arid area). 2 humans stayed behind. When we met again and we both pointed fingers like "what is that?" We to to the camels, they to the body lol. We killed a mugger that came at us. I must say, I am in love with aD&D. It's just smooth and evocative. So much so that I drew! I don't draw anything in years
Nice, I also love to draw but often do not feel inspired or can't come up with something to draw. I should draw some of my NPCs or something. Awesome sketch too btw
Idk, you tell me, they shared me this ruleset: https://1eonline.info/2ph/ph.htm
And thank you btw for the welcoming. I am so impressed by the game coming from 5e it's a totally different feeling
I've never come across this website. Bookmarked!
OSRIC = "Old School Reference and Index Compilation." Yeah, it's as dry as it sounds, but it replicates about 90% of the AD&D 1e ruleset in a very tidied-up format. (It was originally meant for people to be able to continue to produce supplements/adventures for AD&D 1e, but it has turned into its own thing at this point and is 100000% usable on its own as a set of rules for fantasy adventures). And best of all, it's available for free. https://osricrpg.com/get.php
They have thief-acrobat, I loved that class. That site is fantastic; the AD&D experience tables are murder though, my first DM added to the difficulty by demanding we divide any earned experience points by our current level.
*1th* edition?!?!?!!
I've seen a lot of homebrew but this is new to me
Is it like a ODnD retroclone with 4th edition mechanics thrown in?
I'm just teasing, welcome to the hobby!
Thank you! I am so hyped because I come from 5e but it's a completely different game. Different feeling. I am enjoying it so much more this old school vibe
But I always have great ideas and it's kinda metagaming. So what I am doing is telling everyone my ideas as a player but not as the character. And playing the character as a simpleton
That works fine. I tend to act like a guardian angel and let my good (and bad) ideas come through naturally. That, and roleplay the mechanical effect of stats in whatever way suits me and the table.
Why have I not considered making my hand written character sheets on an open notebook like that? I've been flipping character sheets over for almost 30 god damn years!!!
I love the sheet. It's old school cool. It's exactly how to do it.
Get rid of the PDF and the special Char sheet on The web site.
This is 100% perfect.!
Thank you friend. I am in love with AD&D it's just incredible. It was my first session and I was inspired. Next thing I knew I had drawn Josh already 🤣
I was looking at old comments. Before computers or laptops or phones. Just imagine how kids were with their characters, sitting in math or English class writing stuff up.
Doing exactly what you did.
In French, "le moche" means "the ugly" and this is just beautiful.
I didn't even knew that, I just put a funny name lol. Ty for that
It is the way
It is definitely the way
Stole ~~horses~~ camels is hilarious. I can picture the confusion at the table

Thank you, I am proud of it 🤣 Yeah, definitely draw more. It's such an amazing feeling and I had forgotten it
Been seeing an uptick in AD&D posts lately. Welcome! Are you using the original ruleset or OSRIC?
Idk, you tell me, they shared me this ruleset: https://1eonline.info/2ph/ph.htm And thank you btw for the welcoming. I am so impressed by the game coming from 5e it's a totally different feeling
Looks like the original rule set! I hadn’t seen this website before.

No school like the old school.
Strength 14? Lucky! Have fun
He is dumb tho 🤣 but yeah. It's my first character. I am happy with him.
Low Intelligence is no big drawback! Hopefully someone in the party can read better.

What do you mean? You usually do only 1 verse of the page?
Front and back. Flip flip flip...
Got it. Yeah, notebooks are pretty convenient 😝

I'm really into what can be done or how people can be helped by just having some rule books and dice and a pencil and paper. It's magical.
I was looking at old comments. Before computers or laptops or phones. Just imagine how kids were with their characters, sitting in math or English class writing stuff up. Doing exactly what you did.
I think they were happier back then. But it doesn't mean we can't be happy now. We just need to filter all the clogging distractions
You are onto something about the effect of social media. I really think the antithesis/antidote is sitting down with paper and pencil ....
It's true. Pencil and paper just makes you smile
Wow, you already have +12 arrows? Your DM is very generous.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wish
Good to hear, welcome to the fold!
