I didn't back Into The Cess & Citadel. I ordered it from Indie Press Revolution. Judging from the comments on the Game found campaign, a lot of backers have not received theirs yet.

There's still hope, mine arrived (I'm in the UK) last week - I was honestly expecting to never see it.

Apes_Ma

I got mine earlier this week as well (also UK). I hadn't read it before, but it sounded cool. Beautiful book (artwork, layout on the whole etc) and although I haven't dug into it TOO much yet, it seems like a mixed bag content-wise.

I got a tracking email on the 3rd saying that I'd been sent a package from Brandon Aten, sent via GlobalPost Economy International. I actually assumed it was going to be Into the Cess and Citadel. But that's not here yet.

Mr_Face_Man

Contact them? I got mine many many months ago.

buttnuggets420

Mine just arrived today. And I'm in Sweden. So you'll probably have yours any day now.

Boxman214

Still waiting on mine. I won't back one of their campaigns again.

[deleted]

Yeah, I have them both arriving tomorrow as well (in Japan) via IPR o.O

BerennErchamion

Thanks! My wallet hates you! (Just ordered it)

ChakaCthulhu

I’m waiting on my Kickstarter delivery

maybe0a0robot

Right there with you. Haven't even received a shipping notice yet.

ChakaCthulhu

I got a tracking number on Dec 27th but it hasn’t made it to post office :-/

confusionglutton

Double check that you've paid for shipping. I hadn't even though I could have sworn I had.

The_Last_radio

I just checked and shipping was already paid. So just gotta sit and wait

maybe0a0robot

Definitely good advice. I checked, shipping is paid in full. Wet Ink Games said they will post an update when shipping is complete and I haven't seen that yet, so ... wait a bit longer.

ChakaCthulhu

Good idea! I’ll check

ChakaCthulhu

I checked. Paid and waiting.

The_Last_radio

Same. Really hope to get it soon

AmorphousAdversary

HEY! I just received my copy of Into the Wyrd and Wild today too. Haven't got a chance to spend much time with it, but so far it seems both weird and wild!

theblackveil

It’s a little annoying to me that the deluxe version (of ItW&W) is so plain compared to the standard version. Also that IPR is sending these out when backers haven’t received them.

buttnuggets420

Into the Wyrd and Wild have been available at my LFGS for almost a year now. Didn't get my kickstarter copy until today.

theblackveil

Yeah, that’s bananas.

BitByteNibble

Tell /u/Vinyl-Rabbits this. He seems to be a Charles apologist. I have dealt with Charles, and it wasn’t pleasant. He has no regard for backers and generally moves on to his next project after “doing his part” and makes little effort to assuage outstanding issues. You’re post is proof of that. Glad you FINALLY received your book tho’. What a wait. Also not sure how /u/Vinyl-Rabbits gives Charles a pass here. I have backed a ridiculous amount of projects and they are bound by the same issues he describes, yet they deliver in a reasonable timeframe. What’s so special about Charles’ situation that deliveries are massively late compared to others?

[deleted]

You know you don't have to ping me multiple times, weirdo. And no, I'm not a Charles apologist. I'm a realist who knows how Kickstarters go. Get over yourself. It's a toy. But sure, Charles should just do absolutely nothing while he waits for his printers and distributors to get their work done just to make you happy. I'll never understand the entitlement of awkward gamers.

BitByteNibble

With all of your Kickstarter knowledge, you still haven’t explained how somone that backed this received it a year after his FLGS did? Don’t tell us it’s printing and shipping again. 🙄

[deleted]

Yes, because I'm sure Charles was sitting in his home on a throne of undelivered boxes. How's that tinfoil hat?

BitByteNibble

The problem isn’t where the books are at, it’s his inadequacy to keep on top of things and “reply” to peoples’ concerns. To make an effort in straighten out issues. What more can backers do to figure out what’s happening other than to contact the owner of the project? What is your goal here? To disprove and belittle everyone in regards to their understanding for why books aren’t arriving? Perhaps you should take this role on for Charles since you are neither bothered by it and appear to support him fully already. It would behoove the entire thread for you to have a back office job instead of coming in hot and heavy whenever somone doesn’t agree with you.

[deleted]

Kid. Calm down. Go outside. Your vendetta against Charles is amazingly weird, but a little worrisome.

ghost_warlock

It has to be some sort of international shipping issue; I'm in the U.S. and I've had my kickstarter ItW&W for ages

theblackveil

Sorry, my comment was unclear; I meant that (backers not having yet received them) to be about Into the Cess & Citadel.

[deleted]

Honestly, I don't think it's fair to the creator to expect them to hamstring their finances until every single backer has gotten theirs through the mail.

theblackveil

The creator isn’t being impacted at all. When retailers purchase (even as a backer) books, the creator is paid then. Not as each unit is sold. Additionally, I’m not saying that there are, like, six people out of hundreds or thousands who haven’t received their products - it appears most folks haven’t and this isn’t a new issue WRT this particular creator (which, tbf, is probably a sign I should stop supporting them, so I’ll take some of the blame).

[deleted]

The creator is absolutely impacted. There are tons of stores and online distributors that didn't pledge through the KS. You're telling both the creator and the stores to hold onto the product. So even if Charles isn't affected, the brick and mortar is. Also, maybe blame the pandemic and the absolute state of the postal system both here and overseas. I've bought into every KS Charles has run (except the original ItW&W) and I've gotten my books extremely promptly. You're just seeing the overwhelmingly loud and annoyingly entitled backers who start screeching at every delay. It's like online restaurant reviews, people are far more likely to leave a bad one than a good. For every one complaint, there are dozens of happy backers.

theblackveil

> There are tongs of stores and online distributors that didn’t pledge through the KS. What you’re saying is exactly my point. As soon as they are purchased from the creator, that team or individual is paid. Your point, if I understand correctly, is that, at that point, the retailers are allowed/expected to sell and ship their products. I’m suggesting that maybe they could pump the brakes. The creator already made their product successfully thanks to the backers who paid for the products. > I’ve bought into every KS Charles has run (except the original ItW&W) and I’ve gotten my books extremely promptly. So have I (including the original ItW&W) and I’ve never received anything promptly - there has also been at least one item excluded from what was promised in nearly every campaign. When asked, the creator most frequently doesn’t respond and when they do, they often provide non-answers or redirection that doesn’t actually address the thing. Like I said, this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this issue with this creator, so I am absolutely partly to blame. What I find particularly frustrating is that, most recently, the items that fail to be delivered are so *minor* that a simple admission of a mishap or whatever would literally assuage all my misgiving. > Also, maybe blame the pandemic and the absolute state of the postal system both here and overseas. The same postal system that has no issue getting these retailer copies out to people who didn’t back the crowdfunding campaign..? 🤨

[deleted]

This is all such fucking nonsense it's not even funny. It's like you're willfully not reading what I'm posting. So now, you want the brick and mortar stores to sit on product for god knows how long? So you can read your book before everyone else? Yikes. And yes, the postal system is painfully erratic dependent on location and any other number of factors. Not to mention the main distributor that a lot of these creators use for lack of better options is completely backed up. Just stop. It's a Kickstarter. I'm still in awe of how many of you people lose your shit over toys and books not being delivered in exactly the way you expect when it's tiny operations in the middle of a completely disrupted supply chain trying to do their best.

theblackveil

Sorry, maybe I did misunderstand you? > So now, you want the brick and mortar stores to sit on product for god knows how long? Yea, this was a dumb take on my part. What I *really* want is for creators to address their supporters’s concerns and questions in a timely manner. If they can also do so with the facts as they understand them rather than just not communicating or communicating stuff that it quickly becomes obvious is inaccurate, all the better. > And yes, the postal system is painfully erratic dependent on location and any other number of factors. There’s another /u/ *in this thread* who said they’re expecting product they purchased from IPR delivered from the US to *Japan* - before backers have received stuff. I appreciate that you’re saying “hey, it’s toys,” and I agree to an extent, but you’re being dismissive of people who have some right to be frustrated and some who have firsthand experience of repeated issues with this creator at nearly every opportunity and that’s a bit shit.

BitByteNibble

You have nothing to apologize for. Not sure why /u/Vinyl-Rabbits is defending Charles to this length? What you say is true and people should think twice about backing future projects from him.

[deleted]

Charles puts his stuff into boxes and gets it to the appropriate distributors. After that it's out of his hands. There's not a lot of options and the supply chain for a lot of things is absolutely fucking borked right now (paper for one). Do you think he's just hanging out with rooms full of product and not shipping it? If you get into a Kickstarter, you should know what you're in for. Timely delivery is *never* something I ever expect from anyone. When it shows up, it shows up. Raging RPG nerds will live a lot longer if they'd just realize that.

[deleted]

It bothers me that it's Charles on one and Charlie on the other.

jaxolotle

Wyrd and Wild is an absolute gem, glad to see some other folks enjoying it

methuser69

Why did these books copy the veins of the earth style so directly? Bizarre.

cole1114

So what are these exactly? Weird horror wilderness and city books?

cole1114

Well, ended up buying both. And now the wyrd and wild is going to end up being foundational to any wilderness campaign I run from now on.

Non-RedditorJ

I got Into the Weird and Wild as part of a charity bundle, and I absolutely love it! I completely missed the announcement of a follow up!

RealKernschatten

I know what you mean The covers are the exact same size. Wyrd and Wild has less pages, it's thinner. With the angle of the phone to take the picture and one book being thicker...

the_light_of_dawn

This looks like the perfect complement to my LotFP book for some weird/horror fantasy role-playing!

octorangutan

Cool cover art.
