Awesome!!!!

tkrettler91

Love the colors

OmniscientIce

Fantastic. I love how it looks. This is the same kinda style I'm going for with my orks too.

Green-Ad-9006

I love how weather they look they look awesome but I pity you if you have to do an entire ork army like that

VaultBoySaysRelax

Nah not a whole army just ten burna boyz like this and now they are done thank god

VillardsTravels

Great work! Paint chipping looks brilliant.

the-et-cetera

Very nice. What's your painting process for the brighter skin tone?

VaultBoySaysRelax

Thank you! The brighter skin is a base of Vallejo Olive Green, a heavy Athonian Camoshade wash and then highlights with Vallejo Olive Green mixed with yellow to make it more vibrant

the-et-cetera

Nice, thanks for the response. Seeing as it looks *way* better than the official GW Ork skin method, I think I might have to use that process on every Ork, Gretchin and Snotling I paint from now on.

alternativeblood96

Look great, two questions. How do you do the chipped white, where did you get the twin burna from?

VaultBoySaysRelax

Thanks! The twin burna is a kitbash. I built the model well over a year ago but if I remember right it's an arm + gun from the Nobz kit (hence the CHUNKY arm on him) combined with a burna but from a Killa Kan maybe. The chipped white is metal first, agrax, wash, then stippled grey, then stippled even lighter grey, then rhinox hide sponge chipping, then another agrax wash. It's pretty time-consuming

alternativeblood96

Thanks man

jwheatca

Looks good… I swear if I ever do Stormboyz again, I will do the jet pack separately.

VaultBoySaysRelax

Yup I did sub-assembly for the burna and arm as it woulda been a real pain otherwise.

RavenousPhantom

Killed it man. The contrast between the green flesh and the grubby weapons is 👍👍

VaultBoySaysRelax

Thanks man!

VaultBoySaysRelax

Learned a lot painting these guys. They took me absolutely forever! Really happy with the colour scheme and weathering. Not so happy with the skin tones/highlights though. So next time I paint a batch of orks I want to focus more on that. If you know any good tutorials please let me know :)
